  1. Been muck of late but hanging there in third still need to get the act together though pretty soon.
  2. Yea but you do have to remember that FFP was brought in initially really to deal with us, I would hazard a guess the way things have developed in France meanwhile if the process had not already began it would never have seen the light of day
  3. Chelsea and Jose talk about FFP a lot, I think it is really for someone else's ears as Bruce Buck has said on many an occasion they will be looking to ensure FFP is implemented fairly and correctly across the board. For me it is Chelsea, as a company, taking a shot across the bows of UEFA and letting them know we are watching how the likes of PSG, Monac, Barca and City are treated.
  4. Absolutely seems best side we have at the moment
  5. To be honest I am glad he is gone, you have to doubt his mentality to perform when the pressure is on and the eyes of the world are focused on him. Last season he missed a penalty in the Super Cup and ran away. In the World Cup Belguim's best striker was at home with his feet up injured and he still managed to lose his place to a teenager. Lukaku is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is so good riddance from me at least.
  6. 1 1975 relegated hammered at home by QPR and losing to Spurs with only a few games to go 2 Selling Butch to United he was by a country mile our best player at the time 3FSW
  7. Send the kids, take the money, break a few of Xavi's bones jobs oxo. Other than that tell them to stick it.
  8. Roman Junior might have something to say about that, the Roman Empire is not shot yet.
  9. From what I have read the East Stand would not meet current building regs with regard to incline so it is probable rebuilding it may lower the overall capacity. I do think we need at least 55,000 and of that a really good chunk of hospitality. Outside of Germany very few I would say, and even in Germany the club may not own its own ground. It is a damn shame we cannot have grounds like they have in Germany, terrace and seats for league matches and all seating for European matches. I love going to matches over there regardless of how hard you try you will never reproduce the atmosphere of the terrace in an all seated stadium. There is nothing unsafe about terraces if correctly regulated and ticketed
  10. I am not too sure we will struggle with what we have. Ba did OK coming in half way through the season and is at least a good option off the bench, Lukaka has never had a run at Chelsea so it will be interesting to see how they get on. I have never been convinced we need a striker (would be nice to move Torres on but at his wage it will not happen anytime soon methinks) Throw a few new defenders into the mix and I would eb quite confident for next season.
  11. Threw my hat into the ring as well as captain jacks XI, done OK last year but my son beat me by 14 points now that was a sickener.
  12. Apparently Barca funding further purchases by selling, Valdese Fabregas and Villa. Good luck with that only Fabregas of those be good enough for us at a push so don't see top flight sides forming a queue just yet.
  13. Ya pays your money ya makes your choice http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/209895.html?CMP=OTC-RSS
  14. Must say thought it was a good article when I read it, it does seem quite clear though that UEFA have no idea what they are doing with FFP or where it is going. The president of an organisation implementing such a fundamental change to its practices and rules should know every aspect of them and their expected repercussions, Platini seems to have no idea on either. A good point by Samuels glossed over by Platini is why are all of the big clubs in Europe suddenly for it? That should be ringing alarm bells all over the place. There seems to be a lot of friction between UEFA & FIFA regarding referees, goal line technology and so forth. Also trying to understand what he is saying regarding World Cups does that mean the next European one should be in England, leading on from Russia getting the next one. From an unbiased view I cannot see how England has been overlooked for so long in hosting World Cups excellent stadiums, good infrastructure lots of hotel rooms wtf more do you need?
  15. But you really have to love silly season when there is no Euro or World Cups taking place jibberish increases by orders of magnitude
  16. Would agree with Uno here for me for me Luiz and Ricky are very similar type players and TSO certainly seemed to like Ricky. At the moment Barca seem to want Luiz, Mata and Ivan - fair enough they are excellent players. Is this just papertalk or are Barca and their tabloid cronies trying a bit of destabilisation before TSO returns (they have a lot of history in this area truly a club with morals in the gutter) because they are not flush with money and have left a lot behind buying Neymar. A swap with Cesc and Ivan could be OK for us I guess but other than that just BS I think.
  17. At worst 2nd in league but in the race until the bitter end Quarter final of Champions League bit of a lottery after that most teams in 1/4 final capable of winning it FA Cup win (I do love the FA Cup its great) Super Cup win (to stick it up Pep)
  18. I think the top rate of tax in France is 75% so it may be quite soon that the other French clubs look to boot our Monaco. It is difficult to compete with 75% tax V's basically zero I believe
  19. My God that's mad really is a small worldLovely photos by the way not in the least bit jealous ha ha
  20. I would say it is a case of if you build it they will come. For example people such as me would find it much easier to plan for games by booking flights in good time so making it a lot cheaper. An area for kids to get in at more reasonable prices would be great too. If the local council could work out some form of compromise with a ground share with Fulham (have no idea how just if) would that be a definite no-no?
  21. Jimmy or Drogs (at the height of their powers) being greedy both. Have to say loved Jimmy that hat trick against Spurs still the best one ever for me.
  22. I believe they activated a clause in his contract so most likely not tapping up I think. From a cost point of view there is a lot to be said about ground sharing
  23. Best Champions league result since last years final, the Barca demise is well and truly under way (well I hope at least). Pep is obviously one smart cookie getting out when he did. Do Barca need a striker Can we sell them Torres?
  24. That is very very true. It is possible that the powers that be wanted wholesale change and decided to write the season off and employ FSW to see the end of Lamps, JT the old guard if you like. Not trying to engender a whole conspiracy but you have to wonder how can he get away his team selection, tactics, poor results, slagging off fans and the board and still actually be there. If this is the case I bet they did not expect non qualification to the champions league next season. If it is not the case then the person responsible has to be sacked for such an error of judgement.
  25. This season really has been one giant cock up after another. It does seem that the powers that be did not really want RDM in charge at all but perhaps felt backed into a corner to appoint him he had just won big ears and was pretty much loved by every Chelsea fan (well I have never actually met a Chelsea fan who did not like him anyway). Sacking him may or may not have been a mistake, in fairness when we sacked Big Phil & AVB in mid season things worked out fine and they were forgotten reasonably quickly by the fans. No the mother of all cock ups this season was not the sacking of RDM (regrettable as it was in my view) but in appointing FSW, someone universally loathed by Chelsea supporters as RDM was loved. You have to ask how and why this happened, when there was a rumour of it last season there was an instant backlash. Why did anyone think it would be better this season? In my opinion, someone who holds a position of power in our club felt FSW was a great manager and wanted him here and was prepared to do what ever was needed to get him. If that is true he should be sacked with immediate effect not for sacking a true Chelsea legend but for stupidity.
