Well, how I see it is Silva is off. We will need to buy at least 1 CB. He is a CB with PL experience. Good age, won't command ridiculous wages, is a freebie, good on the ball and has quite a bit of pace for a lanky CB. Seems he suits Maresca's style of play so makes sense. The one thing which is a risk is purchasing another CB in the Fofana fee range for it not to work out.

I don't disagree with everything he said. He can call the tories whatever he likes from my point of view, they're scum, but I think he is very blinkered when it comes to immigration issues in this country and other issues. It is a serious issue whether he can see it or not. He's not the one who will ever see the negative side to any of it, he's not living in the same world as the average person.
I don't feel sorry for him, not a single bit. He signed the contract with the BBC, so he knows what he can and cannot say, and it's not like he hasn't been pushing it for years now. Lineker is a man stealing a living in my opinion and one of the many reasons why I don't watch MOTD these days and why I cannot stand the tv licence and wish for it to be abolished. In no situation should anybody at the BBC be on £1.5m a year, especially when for most of the year he makes 1 single appearance a week. He's an absolute waste of tax payer money and they could easily put Mark Chapman in the same position who is on a fifth of his salary.
As far as MOTD goes, he and the BBC have done the audience a huge favour. They will get an episode without his smugness, his annoying arm waving and awkward pauses between conversations. But the best of the lot is that he's got the support of all of the pundits. We get a week off from the monotone voices of Shearer and Murphy, the idiots like Keown, Richards and Jenas and those that have never played anywhere near the level of football they are commenting on like Alex Scott.
I'm hearing the commentators won't be appearing either, even better. We may get a few episodes entirely dedicated to football highlights without all of the other useless filler that comes with it. They should use this as an opportunity to make it permanent, maybe I will become a regular watcher again if they do.

That's good, however thousands feel different and in large the nation is in mourning.
I couldn't care less about delaying some football for a week or so to remember a woman who gave her life for her country for 70 years during world wars and such.

I feel incredibly sorry for Tuchel. He protected us through that sh*t we went through before Boehly came in, handled himself professionally and gave Chelsea fans the belief that whatever happened, we would be okay. Amongst all of that, he was going through his own personal issues with his divorce. This is the thanks he gets?
It really is a disgrace. Honestly, I can't think of a more disgusting sacking in football. 

Let’s watch how big of a deal the pundits are going to make this var decision in comparison with the numerous var decisions that went against us or that went in favour of their favourite teams

It's crazy how rival fans are now preaching that Carragher monologue and don't even understand the issue with it. Because it's certainly not about whether the content of his statement was accurate or not.
Has Chelsea been taking advantage of other clubs? Maybe, I don't know... They've bought some of the best players of other clubs, who themselves were willing to join Chelsea, and paid the clubs a lot of money for it. If you buy from a PL club you simultaneously weaken the competition, then again the player tends to be double the price of a player of similar quality from abroad. Everyone can decide for themselves if there's exploitation involved and from which side, any case can be made I guess.
All I know is that every big club is doing this. Naturally, every big club is trying to achieve the best for themselves and that includes buying top players, particularly if the opportunity is favourable due to some external circumstances. Chelsea may have been "the" big money club for a bit, yet over the last decade our net spending is actually far below the "traditional elite". Nonetheless, I wouldn't waste a second on arguing about which English top 6 club is the most "exploitative", because that's completely pointless.
That's why Carragher's statement is actually quite bizarre: Would I be outraged at ManUtd if they, in a scenario in which everything at Chelsea goes completely t*ts up, tried everything to sign Tuchel? Not for one second. I would be slightly surprised by Tuchel's judgement if he agreed, but that's besides the point. ManUtd have done nothing wrong with regards to our current situation (it's not like they expressed any claim on Tuchel), and honestly, I can't see how they could be doing anything wrong in the future. If the outcome of this situation is the complete disintegration of the club, our top assets will obviously end up with some other big clubs, what else?
And that's where we get to the real problem with Carragher's suggestions: it's not about ManUtd, it's about Mr Carragher himself. A sky sports pundit, supposedly hired to contribute insightful sports commentary rather than partisan advertisement. Instead, at the slightest suggestion, he's absolutely drooling over the idea of the complete and football-unrelated dissolution of a 117 year old club with millions of fans around the country and the world. That is the problem, and nothing he said on Sunday remotely adressed that.

There is no guaratee at all that protected sporting events would be put behind a paywall if the tv licence was abolished. It may happen, it may not, there is no way of knowing, but I would be willing to gamble it if it meant I didn't have to pay the tv licence.
Again, quality is subjective. You say programmes will get worse and adverts will become more frequent, well I simply don't care. It couldn't get any worse than it already is from my point of view, so if it somehow did get even worse, then so be it, it makes no difference to me because I don't watch any of it anyway.
The BBC may be worth it for you, but the number of people that don't feel it is worth it is growing, and by 2027, I expect those numbers to be too large to ignore.
