Chelsea v Wolves (PL) Sat 8th Oct 2022 15:00 GMT

Ouch Wolves at 3 after a Wednesday CL game.

At least the game was not hard on most of our players.

Will Wolves have a permanent manager in place for this one? At least Conor Coady won't be playing for them!

We have Milan away on the Tuesday so I really hope we give Silva a break and have him miss this game. I know every game is important but I really feel we must manage his minutes, especially with losing Wes.

With that in mind a back 4 seems the best option.

Kepa

James

Chalobah

Koulibaly

Cucrella

RLC

Jorginho

Gallagher

Sterling

Auba

Pulisic

I think we will probably start with a similar lineup to what we saw tonight, with Chalobah instead of Fofana. Like you I hope that Silva gets a rest. Could Cucurella play as LCB as part of a back 3 with Kouli/Trevoh? Then we could play Chilly as LWB. I would stick with RLC/Kova pairing in the middle. Maybe give Havertz a start in place of Mount.

My thinking was also not to overwork Ben as he played the full 90 against Milan and, I am guessing, will start on Tuesday. Similar train of thought with Kova as Kante won't likely be ready to start.

Playing Wolves at a good time. No Neves, Neto or Collins. Collins is their best defender. Neves is their best midfielder and Neto is their best winger. Traore isn't 100% yet also as although he has poor end product, is always a threat. Also won't have a new manager in time for the game.

Hate to break it to you but you are customers and in numbers a lot less than the mass on TV. However it is sh*tty for anyone making travel plans. I completely agree

Anyway a win here is very much in cards. I feel 1-0 or 2-0. Mount to score.

Without those 'customers' over the last 150 years, where would our football be ? The same place tiddly winks is, not on our TV's.

I think we'll see a few changes tomorrow but not masses. Expect a similar system to midweek as that worked very well and really unlocked Reece who's been our best player under Potter. I hope Silva gets a rest, but wouldnt be surprised if he starts considering Fofana's injury means less depth.

                 Kepa
  Chalobah - KK - Cucu
James - RLC - J5 - Chillwell
  Sterling - Auba - Mount

I personally wouldn't start Jorginho, but I think he'll get the nod a) to rest Kova, and b) to keep him sweet (I get the impression he's a personality that needs managing in the dressing room).

Wolves are an unknown quantity at the moment, loss of their manager could either galvanise the players or lead to capitulation - either way we can't fall into the trap of taking them too lightly, hope we start strongly and put the game to bed early.

Could be. Still, in 2022 everyone is a customer. This is how the decisions in the club/tv go anyhow. If the decisions feel weird or unfair it is because you are not important enough. By important I mean money. I didn't invent this nor do I see eye to eye I just think it is a fact.

Remember how it felt watching the games with no fans during covid, then you realise they're more than just customers.

Let’s build keep the momentum going and make it 3 wins in a row (including the ac Milan win)

don’t see any reason but to stick with Kepa. Seems to be doing fine and is better with the ball at his feet compared to mendy

I think he will now.

If he came back early on with Atletico (when the situation leading to his exit was still raw) it would have probably been a different story.

It would be very unfair, (and IMO would also make us weaker), to leave RLC out of the starting lineup after his performance against Milan.

Although the fixtures are coming thick and fast, I wouldn't like to see many changes to the lineup that started against Milan. Would be crazy to go without Silva.
