Hope we do get messi, he might bring that barca style of play

This is my thinking in terms of gaining status in Europe, however plan b (my preferred option) is for Hazard to become the best player in the world at Chelsea, only leaving when he's past it and has the trophy cabinet any top player deserves.

Shouldn't they just call that the Etihad Sanction?

Messi deal will be 55m a year, sponsors would just pay us more each year to help balance the books. FFP can't stop sponsors paying what they want to. Saying that I think it's just that the story fits rather than its going to happen.

He's Normally quite reliable right? It's on..

Hypothetically, would people swap messi for hazard if that's the only was we could afford him? For me I definitely wouldn't, Hazard fits the team, is our future and there's literally no one in world football that I'd swap him for.
  8. The ironic thing about messi is that a player of his status could, over time, propel us to an almost super club status, where we would be self efficient and have no worrys with ffp. But doing the deal would ruin our books for the immediate future, so c'mon Adidas, Turkish airlines, whoever, get ya cheque book out.
  9. It's so hard to call because you can look at the fixtures and guess where both sides would drop points but no one would of guessed they'd throw away a lead against burnley and we'd get those extremely poor away results. I just hope we can go into the city game at least level if not on top, even of its just 2 points or goal difference, we should be looking to win the game but I really don't fancy it being a must win game where we have to chase it, a game we can't lose is a different story.
  10. 3-0 up and he was still running after every single ball until the final whistle. He seems annoyed if he doesn't score and that's a brilliant attitude for a striker to have.
  11. I honestly don't know how Zouma will get in the team (injuries withstanding) after his consistent performing and Cahills nightmare at Spurs. The only reason he won't be starting is the worry that Cahill will lose all self confidence.
  12. ZOUMA ZOUMA ZOUMA! Looks comfortable in the first team and if Jose decides to rotate Cahill I'd feel very comfortable with him stepping up. Read that he has now scored more goals in his first season than Torresdid.
  13. That's the problem I live in an area where they charge £20 a match for league 2 football, a lot of the people I know follow a prem team too and watch it regularly but as there's no football on at 3 they go to the live game, I'm sure the attendance would drop from league 1 and lower because a lot of those fans seem to have two teams and would rather save some money and watch games on tv.
  14. Agree with this. Prisons are a place for reform, for people to serve a sentence and hopefully be accepted back into mainstream society. If he's not allowed back into the profession it sends the message that convicted criminals should be thrown in a pit and left to their own devices. His punishment was meant to be his jail time but it has been extending due to the struggle he's faced since coming out.
  15. Oscar has been pretty good since he really nailed his starting position v Bolton, has had a couple of off days more recently, although he still hasn't really had too much of a rest in the past few years so perhaps bit much to except him to constantly perform. Offers a lot to the team both in attacking and defening terms. You see how much he brings to the teams in the arsena gamel, you can also see the talent he holds going forward, free kick vs palace that great goal v qpr. His stats are good enough and judging him by Hazards standards might be a bit harsh. Although he is a different player he is certainly above the likes of nasri, navas and Milner at city so I'm not sure what people want from our team. Saying that a teams number 10 should be able to save them on an off day is not a good reason to say he's not performing well enough; 1) I wouldn't say he's a typical number 10 anyway so the standards must be different. 2) He DOES have the ability to change a game, score a great goal set up someone or block shots heading for the bottom corner. He should do it a bit more though. 3) We don't rely on him to save us, really. We have a different dynamic to other teams, city rely on Toures shots from outside the box to save them at times, we might rely on Cesc playing a killer ball through, they have their number 10 silva coming up with pieces of magic we have our winger hazard. He probably won't get to world class level but people are dreaming if they think we will/should have a world class player in every single position.
  16. Sky sports news showing clips of Gerrard and talking about his career, as you'd expect, but as well as showing his champions league win ect they're also showing fans burning his shirt and the famous slippy G moment. Pretty funny really.
  17. Really annoys me people calling for squad players to get more time, some deserve it but half are terribke when they play they and get slagged off, taken off early and dropped. Just one of those days most of the players have been brilliant so well have to judge them on how they recover.
  18. Everyone calling for luis is the team have you been watching him this season? He started ok when he played but been really poor at times to like against Southampton, he is worse at defending than Ivan, gets forward and nearly is out of position, the only reason he should be in the team is when we are trying to break down a defence. I do agree we need a change around though, annoying that we have a good left back who is in great form, he's just at Southampton.
  19. Anyone else see the MNF team of the year, they left 2 places up to a twitter poll to decide, both being Chelsea v Southampton, Fonte V Cahill and Schneiderlin V Fab, both Southampton players getting in. Arsenal fans claimed they hijacked the poll so Fabregas wouldn't make they team, how sad can you get? They'll probably claim it as a trophy.
  20. I think that is completly on the player to be honest. I think it's disgusting when players are on loan, get the move they're after then look like they're not bothered. Saying that im still not 100% on Martinez did a fantastic job last year had to spend the majority of his money to get basically the same team as last year. Is a very tough job at Everton they have high aspirations without any real justification for them. A lot of players haven't been the same as last year to be honest and add in their injuries and their European games and it was always gonna be tough. Ill reserve judgement until the end of the season.
  21. Rotate them depending on form, fitness opponant. I wonder how Remy would get on if he was asked to play wide.
  22. Draw away from home against 4th v a draw at home after being 2-0 up against 19th. Puts it into perceptive a bit. 3 points seems loads right now
  23. They might catch us but over the whole season I am quite confident. They're in a great run of form and don't look like dropping points, I actually said after the game we lost v Newcastle that I thought they could win their next 8. They're half way to that point and don't look like stumbling, although bad results can come when least expected. I think that despite not having any of their strikers they're actually in their best form of the season so it's important we don't let them catch us because they would have the confidence and momentum. Really the next team to drop points would be huge, if it them we can open up a nice gap and create some breathing room, if its us were level and a dip in form could see either side start to struggle to keep pace. The game at home will be vital and with Jose I feel like we can take all 3 points.
  24. Wow so impressed by that first half, Hazard doesn't care if there's 10 players around him he'll still come away with the ball
  25. I'm quite confident, we seem to be getting results in most of the games we dropped points in least year, excluding Newcastle. Will be tough, it doesn't matter where they finish it matters where they are know, because right now were playing the 4th best team in the league and we can't take the game for granted.
