Belfast_blue5 got a reaction from paraphil in Real Madrid v Chelsea (CL) Wed 12th Apr 2023 20:00 GMTTotally agree we hardly have any players who will make forward runs. How many times could sterling have ran in behind their defence tonight and wanted it played short. The whole season has been a disaster from pre season.

Bigger picture here is the performances on the pitch are indirectly linked to the unhelpful decisions made by the Board/ Owners
Appointing Frank is just one more of those it appears. But Potter had to go
Purchasing quite a few players w no apparent strategy at building a team is probably their biggest & most expensive blunder of all. Easy to fire manager not so much w the poor signings they’ve made.
Im disappointed in that half and don’t expect it to improve. What a 💩 show.
Time to spark up !

Very stupid to start Kante, Very Very stupid.

Belfast_blue5 reacted to Deino in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerLukaku failed here. He knew he couldn't hack it when Van Dijk made him look like a schoolboy. After that all the CBs locked him out of the game and Lukaku got fat.
Tuchel also had to navigate the club through sanctions, an injury-hit squad and the entirety of British media questioning/blaming the war on Chelsea Football Club all the while with an owner that was banned from the country and Tuchel still dragged the team to Top 4 spot, 2 finals and 2 trophies the club has never won. He also masterminded our CL run to glory just the previous year with almost these same players.
Potter comes in admittedly in the same injury hit squad, with no preseason. Okay, fair. But he also had a WC break of a month and had the luxury of getting plenty of replacements in for the squad. Now 90% of the team is fit, playing one game a week and he still chopping and changing, now reports are coming out that he can't properly train players because he has 30 players to train when he allowed these same players 2 and a half day off in the week before facing Tottenham.
A squad of internationals, CL winners, World Cup winner and trophy winners, yet he still comes up with an abysmal run of 2 in 16 PLUS dogsh*t performances against rivals and the bottom placed team in the league.
When we were playing badly under Tuchel, some people couldn't wait to get rid of him yet almost the same people defend Potter with not having Lukaku as if Potter's style benefits Lukaku in some way. News flash, Potter likes strikers getting balls to feet, Lukaku is awful with the ball at his feet.
Ever think that the reason these players are playing bad because of Potter not in spite of Potter? I can tell you this, if next season Potter still manages this team, nothing will change.

Belfast_blue5 got a reaction from Luiz4Chelsea in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerI really hoped TT would have been here long term but what he had to deal with in terms of the sanctions, the club nearly going out of business and with his own personal problems he needed a break. The writing is on the wall when a manager starts saying he doesn’t know what’s wrong when you’re losing games.

Belfast_blue5 reacted to TheCeleryKing in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerSorry to be pedantic, but. . .
What exactly are we doing 'right' under Potter?
What is Potter's footballing ideology?
Yes, victory, generally results in a 'good feel'. Even goals create those 'good feel' moments.

Belfast_blue5 got a reaction from RomansRoubles in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerWe could all go round in circles here with who is to blame for this shambolic season. Yes Potter has had an injury crisis to deal but this happens in football. An inflated squad due to the amount of players signed in both transfers windows but why hasn’t he identified the players who aren’t in his plans and reduced the size of the first team squad? He played a back 3 mostly with Brighton why has he abandoned this?
Excuses can’t be made for Potter over injuries in your previous post but state we made it look pretty easy against Milan when they had 10 first team players out for the first leg and a man sent off early in the second.

Belfast_blue5 reacted to Deino in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerNo, Tuchel had the worst time of any manager that has managed Chelsea Football Club.
And Potter is responsible for putting out 20+ different Starting XI's. He is also the one who delivers half time team talks and also in charge of substitutions.
Yet, after 6 months on the job, he still doesn't know what combination of players he wants to stick to. The patterns of play is basically a worse attempt at copying Tuchel.
Now we are in a situation where we have only scored 1 goal in a month. Yet he continues chopping and changing

Belfast_blue5 got a reaction from RomansRoubles in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerI think he’s here to the summer unless there is a real threat of us getting dragged into a relegation battle. Potter was appointed on the 8th September and there has be no real change in terms of the out put on the pitch since he’s arrived. What is the process are we a team playing on the front foot pressing from the front and moving the ball quickly or a possession based team because at the minute it looks like neither.
Pundits and commentators constantly say the squad is to big but why hasn’t he told the players who are not in his plans to train away from the first team and reduce the size of the squad. There is only a few months of the season left how much could they kick off.
I’m sure everyone of working age in their chosen profession has come across people like potter nice guy, wants to keep everyone happy but not really that good of a manager.
He’s not a born winner and out of his depth. When spurs scored their second on Sunday he showed no reaction and continued to give instructions to one of the subs that’s not the reaction from an elite level manager who’s obsessed with winning.

Belfast_blue5 got a reaction from Gol15 in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerTotally agree. They lost their first two games when he was trying to play open football then he changed how the team played and made them more defensive. You can see now the players are well drilled and know what to do. Granted he hasn’t had the injury’s to contend with that we have had and had a preseason but it’s a set formation and style. We have seen none of that from potter different formations every week, no patterns of play and players being asked to play in a number of different positions in some games.

Belfast_blue5 reacted to Gentian in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerThe situation at man utd shows clearly what a good manager can achieve. Erik Ten hag immediately gave them discipline and showed them who the boss is plus the players know exactly what style ten hag wants them to play.
Looking from the outside both qualities are severely lacking in Potter, there seems to be no discipline, pattern or style of play with us and thats the problem. If i saw just an ounce of improvement or something we striving towards i would support Potter 100 percent.
The only quality i see in Potter is that he seems like a good man, that's it.
I hope he proves all of us wrong but atm our situation is looking very bleak.

Belfast_blue5 got a reaction from ducavis in Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea ManagerThis season has turned into a disaster, this team isn’t to good to go down and it’s hard to see were the next win is coming from. The team don’t like fit enough or understand what’s being asked of them tactically.
The constant changing of the formation isn’t helping last 3 games a back four then 3 tonight likely to be a 4 on Sunday as Azpis legs are gone.
I can’t see Potter being sacked anytime soon especially given his massive contract. I hoped TT was given more time but was happy to get behind Potter but the man looks lost the club is to big for him.

Belfast_blue5 reacted to yaz in Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*My favourite and most endearing memory of his spell won't be the Champions League win, but the way he handled the sanctions and transition period. We should have a banner at the Bridge that says ''by train, by bus, or in a seven-seater'', or something along those lines.

Belfast_blue5 got a reaction from strider6004 in Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*There must be more in this than just bad results. There was rumours in the last few weeks TT was to be offered a new contract. He looked a broken man last night in the press conference maybe the problems in his personal life have taken there toll on him.

Belfast_blue5 reacted to d-one in Jules KoundeI have said this before that our entire scouting networks need to be fired and replaced. How come we have not been able to sign a talent player who is not a youth in eons.... What exactly do they do... PSG is probably 10 times richer than us and are getting a defender for 13m... So sad
