  1. I cans ee this being an ugly game of football, but would love for us to go up there and put on a class and walk out with a 0-2 win. I always fear Villa away, a few to many 1-0 loses I can remember. I like Gareth Barry, adn think that he is a standout player for Villa, and he can be dangerous. I think this could be a squeeked 1-2 Scott
  2. Dunno G4, but thtat is madness! I think that there are many permitations for our striker conundrum, ans as of yet this season we are not even sure if Sheva is going to play?! I like 2 upfront with wingers, and Drogba has even said that he likes to play with a secondary striker. Also, lest we forget, Drogs had his great season last year with sheva up in support. I like Kalou, and his versatility as either a striker or winger is an added bonus. I like him in behind Drogs, and later having Pizarro on instead of Kalou, also partnering Drogs. Any way you look at it, Drogs is such a threat upfront; his phyisical presence is immense, and if he just shoots rather than trying to mess around with step overs, then he is great. Drogs doesn't have much in the way of total touch, but he more than makes up for that through strength and shot ability. I feel someone with touch and vision is the perfect partner for Drogs. To me that person was Sheva, but I fear he's to old and slow now, so i think Drogs and Pizarro would be the best striker combo Scott
  3. I also think that they were talking to you about JFH and although he scored Goals, he wasn't a great player. Lamps scores goals, and assists, and scores free kicks, and puts in corneres...etc,etc. Lamps is a far greater player than Jimmy, and he's not even an "attacker" he's a midfielder Scott

Cheers Loz, it is such a great moment at that pestival as it was all really Hippie music, then the Who and Hendrix. Then Otis really looked out of place on the bill. But man he came out and blew them all away

How about Paulo in as right back, with Beletti as cover for him? Anyway, I don't think Jose seems to have a great deal of faith in Johnson. Gave him a couple of games, and then before you could say "Paulo Ferreira" he was back to playing Essien there. I wonder, too, how long Essien will enjoy being played out of position? Anyway, I digress, to me I think Arsenal have shown interest in Diarra, and if we were to let them make an offer I truly hope that we don't take it. Diarra looks promising, and the "junior makelele" should remain in our ranks to take over from maka when he's done in a year. A loan spell for Diarra (although not to le arse) or an outright sale of Johno would be my guesses. Paulo is to versatile, and one of Jose's Porto proteges, to be sold now. I, and many others, cna not fathom what caused Jose to fall out of favour with Paulo so quickly; however, I don't think that means he wants him out of the team. Another point I feel pretinent to this discussion is the Boulahrouz deal. His loan to Sevilla seemed to be a "sweetner" for the move to Chelsea for Allves. However, as this Dani saga drags on, and the now finalized signing on Beletti I can no longer see what that was all about. I doubt a loan spell at Seville will make him, suddenly, a great player that we will be salavating to get back next season; why not just sell him outright? And now, all this talk of Belletti being bought to then send to Seville so we can get alves????I doubt it. Looks like our RB is set right now, but who will make it their position is still debatable. To me, it will be one of Beletti, Paulo, or Diarra...so long johno. But, I fully expect Essien to be there more than 50% of the time Scott
  7. Maybe this is also Poll trying to make up for the fact that he is totally incompetent and not fit to be a referee
  8. Poll is a D*ck mate, who cares what he has to say?
  9. No way was he a legend, man that word gets thrown about too much. But he was a great player when fit, adn a great great winger. Had his flaws, didn't tackle much, adn rarely tracked back, but he was quick and he seemed to eb really passionate when scoring for the club

Also, I saw James Brown live in teh Glasgow Carlin academy. The place was, from front to abck, one hopping, dancing sweaty mess. He was a great front man, and his backing band were awesome Scott

Loz, is taht Ottis reading from the Monterey Pop festival? I thik it was him that came on as all the Hippies were leaving after jefferson Airplane finished. He came one at tempo and a hafl and had all the hippies shaking in ecstacy Scott
  12. Anyone know what is up with Diarra? I know there was talk of him going to Le Arse, but if we still have him I would much rather play him at RB and have Essien in the middle. Although I did see in the Ghana Senegal match that Essien got hurt! Anyway, my BPL goes ..............cech essien....alex...terry,,,cashley ...........mikel...lamps swp.........................malouda ........................kalou .................Drogs 2-1 with Drogs adn Pizarro scoring

It has been kicking around in varius guises for a good few years now. But welcome1
  14. Also, remember that Pompei were seemingly on the brink of signing a certain Didier Drog-something for 3 million before he had a great season in League Un and his price got jacked up.
  15. I think the score in this debate is firmly: Loz 1-0 Brian M. Sorry mate, can't go around saying it doesn't matter who they scored against, then say that Scotland doesn't really matter. Simple fact is, Jimmy may have been a decent finnisher, but he was not a great player. This can be seen through his attitude, adn to me, the fact that it took Eidur to do most of his leg work in their best seasons. His internatinal Career is not a great one. Ok his goal scoring might be decent but he wasn't really playing in major internatinals, or against lofty opposition. I think the fact that Dutch manager after Dutch manager continued to NOT pick Jimmy shows that outside of some Chelsea fans, he really was not held in high regard. Scott
  16. I have the notion that this means we are going to offload Johno, play Paulo regularly, and have this new Belletti chap in at RB only when needed. Basically we have just signed a 31 yr old back up for Paulo Scott
  17. I think that is a safe assumption, but congrats to Petr!
  18. Lets not forget how crap Arjen was at taking pens either! Honestly, though, he was a great player when fit, but alas that was all too few and far between. I think to cash in on him now is a good bit of business, and it is one less spot that Joey Cole has to fight for!
  19. Just come intot he thread so excuse me if this is written elsewhere. Signing another RB to me signifies 2 things: First, we are no longer in for Alves. Second, jose really has no time at all for Paulo or for Johno I feel sorry for johno, if he is young and has more to learn either send him out on loan again, or just sell him. As for Paulo, I just wish we would give the man a chance. Scott
  20. I seem to remember him having a pretty effective role at teh head of the diamond rather than at the base of it. I think he is too "attack" minded a player to play the holding role
  21. You know what, I have not read all these posts so I may be re-hashing the sentiments of many on ehre...but I don't gove a flying feck about how we got a dodgy pen against Liverpool. It again has resurfaced the scouce biased media! Styles may have lost control of the game, and for that he should be dropped, but to say it is merely because he gave the Cehls a dodgy pen, well they are idiot for that! How about the ref that gave Liverpool that "goal" in the CL. I never heard any scouse twat going on about how unlucky we were to go out in the CL that year. F*ck them. We are Chelsea, no one likes us and we don't care. As for Torres I thin he is a class striker, but a secondary striker, not a target man, and I really wish terry had lamped him for his antics, but again the rpess don't pick up on torres diving or tryinfg to get penalties. But they sure would had it been Cole or Robben! Stand fast Chelsea fans, don't let the scouce based media tanit your ideas. Also, if Red Rob Knob is really sending Lofty (a true and loyal blue) some sh*t stirring PM's accusing him of slander, he should not be allowed back on here and go and rot in his f*cking sh*t hole scouse forums for all I care. Scott
  22. I like the option of starting with kalou as a pacey option, then bring Pizarro on to take the game to the opposition and possibly bang in a goal. I also like starting the youngster to get some experience and buid confidence
