  1. Anelka for me has passed it, he maybe the top goal scorer in the league at the moment but only because he can slot it past weaker teams. He was useless today, useless last season whenever Anelka has got his goals the team has played well. He is not the type of player that can change a game in an instant. He was no where today, no where against Man Utd and Liverpool. Anelka is one of those players that plays well in a lower team. Kalou just looks lost most of the time, i feel he has never found his right position at the Club. Malouda.... oh don't get me started. I believe the rest of our team is great oh well i have a love hate relationship with Drogba, let's just imagine if you replace the 3 above with the likes of well Aguero/Benzema/Huntelaar, Arshavin all potential transfer targets which i very much doubt we will get those people, they have the creative ability, the goal poaching skills to take us to a league title. Ever since we got rid of Robben and Duff we've had a poor front line, Drogba has had one good season that's all. To win the league we need a guy who can score against the big teams for e.g Fernando Torres. I'll eat my hat if Anelka gets top goal scorer for the season.
  2. Don't blame Scolari, blame our attacking options for being so poor. Try managing a team with Malouda, Kalou and Anelka all upfront.
  3. It's really simple when it comes down to it, we have nothing upfront and on the wings. Arsenal - Theo, Van Persie, Adey(well not great but hey), Bender.. they have people who can come on a change the game like Vela. Man Utd - Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo, Berba. Liverpool - Torres ( one man team ) Chelsea - Donkey Malouda, Clueless Kalou, Moaning Drogba, On and Off form Anelka. The only player that we have found to give us a boost now and again is Joe Cole but he's been hit with injuries. We need someone new upfront someone quick on the wings with the ability to beat the guy, duff and robben were the last and that seems ages ago now. With our current midfield and defence we are great apart from a few slip ups but we just have no creative forwards.
  4. Whatever you say though, that wasen't a free kick but my god didn't he hit that free kick! Pompey were brilliant down the flanks but the class of top class goal poacher and one of the best players of the decade got them back it.
  5. With the form that Del Piero is showing, i predict a Juve win.
  6. Good for him in my opinion, he's move to Galaxy was a wrong career direction good for money sure but not for his football career. This is a great move for him to get him back on track.
  7. Sheva replied to Nibs's topic in General Chelsea FC
If our striker worries continue i can really see us making a move for Michael Owen which in my opinion would by a good signing.
  8. Have to say we outplayed them for 90+ mins, lampard was fantastic. However i have to say we have defaintly made the signing of the season in Deco, he was a class above everyone today.. slick touches, always wants that killer ball which only he can make with his crazy vision. Im starting to like Malouda, im getting frustrating with him in a good way. Great 3 points, Cmon the Blues! Also Robinho wasen't in the game after he scored his goal.
  9. I for one do not believe in signing players like Dean Ashton, bags of ability yer but not Chelsea class. Anelka has been dissapointing for us, if we did sign someone it would have to be a youngster who hasen't been discovered and has the quality to strengthen our squad. Sadly players im describing just aint popping up anywhere and to reply to the Russian season, Arshavin will be cup-tied since Zenit are in the Champions League. Duffer has passed it now, niggled by injuries he will never become the player he was at Chelsea.
  10. You have to rememeber, January will not be a window full of big name signings. The likes of Villa, Arshavin, Aguero etc will all be cup-tied in Europe.
  11. Exactly, hit the nail right on the head. We are not gutted that we didn't get Robinho, most of us a gutted that we didn't get anyone. Robinho is a 50/50 that's why we feel he is overpriced.
  12. I have alot of respect for Man City, however just because your going to spend 32.5 million on Robinho doesn't mean your going to win the league. Mark Hughes is a great up and coming manager but you still have plenty of work to do to get in a top 4 finish at the end of the league. Your some way off Chelsea standard and Utd's and you must be a fool not to admit that, i for one am glad we did not fork out 32.5 million for Robinho because quite simply he's not worth it, he's a great talent but he's not worth that much. The only thing im dissapointed about in the window is that we didn't go for anyone else to strengthen our squad and give our forward line more experienced depth. I don't know what to think of Robinho, i was a bit shocked to hear of City purchasing him everyone was but i firmly believe we fell out with Madrid and Calderon didn't want to sell him to a Main champions league rival. You came in with the bid they accepted and Robinho had no choice because it was a last minute thing and he wanted out of Madrid. I believe Chelsea pulled out of the race because we don't want to make the same mistake twice.
  13. Anyone know how Fabio Paim done when coming on, just want to know what sort of player he is.
  14. It's not the fact we didn't sign Robinho, it's the fact we didn't sign anyone to replace Sheva/Pizzaro/SWP to make our attack force stronger, the fact that Scolari wanted Robinho shows that he felt it was needed to boost our strike force and we've come out with nothing.
  15. 8 goals in the premier league i believe, Drogba was a sulk when Grant was at the helm and that's well documented. But 8 goals is not good enough for our main striker, when you got Torres and Ronaldo banging in 20+. Drogba 8 Anelka 1 (10 at Bolton) Lampard 10 Lamps scored more goals than our strikeforce combined, i know there was injuries but it's not good enough. We have the best midfield in the world, i firmly believe that but we need our strikers to perform to win the league.
  16. I know we have a different manager, but look at our top scorer last season it was Frank Lampard. As much as i love Frank but our forwards should be banging in the goals. But also what if Drogba gets injured again and Anelka is still under performing, we can't rely on an unexperienced striker in Di santo. We sold Sheva and Pizzaro and did not get a replacement that could back fire. But i know people have faith in Drogba and i hope he repays them.
  17. True but look at Drogba, he performs one week and he just vanishes. We need forwards that are consistant, we hoped we would get that from Anelka but he's been every bit of a flop as Sheva. If im being honest Tevez works his socks of for Man Utd every game and is a fantastic player, i'd swap him for Drogba(The Drogba of last season). Cole is the only one i'd like to keep but he is also inconsistant. Like it or not Ronaldo won Man utd the league last season and quite frankely if Drogba doesn't perform or any of our strikers don't perform we could be looking at 2nd again. I just hate the fact that the goals are coming from a midfield and not our forwards, surely that tells us something.
  18. Im not bothered about Robinho going to City to be honest, one player doesn't win the league. Well Ronaldo won the league last year but they have overall better quality than City. The main thing im bothered about is that our premiership rivals Man utd have signed a quality forward and we have a forward coming back from injury and one which is not performing. It's quite worrying, unless Di Santo takes the world by storm im not as optimistic about taking the league as i was. Anelka, Drogba, Malouda, Cole or Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney, Berbatov Be honest, just look at the these names and look at there performances, i am a bit worried i have to say.
  19. What it comes down to is that our main premiership rival has just forked out £30.75 million for Berbatov to strengthen there squad, which could be bad for us and Arsenal. Robinho going to Man City could be the signing of the summer or the biggest flop of the summer, however the amount of money getting thrown around in football these days im not surprised to see a figure pop up like that. If our current team peforms we're laughing but if we getting niggled with injuries this is going to backfire on us. The problem is with the January window is cup-tied players.
  20. He has defaintly signed for City, both clubs have confirmed it.
  21. No offense, but your taking a bit to seriously... people are blaming Kenyon because he has failed to sign Robinho who was his target. I can see where your coming from, people really should blame Scolari but like Scolari said he does not do anything to bring the player he just gives a name and people are blaming Kenyon because he didn't bring the name which taking all things into account he should of. At the end of the day we've failed to sign Robinho because it all became one mess, the shirts on the net for example. Real fell out with us and they sold him to City for a better deal. This is not the end of the world though, we still have a strong squad we just need the likes of Malouda/Kalou to peform this season and people don't see that.
  22. Does anyone not believe there was a plan B? For all we know we could of pulled out of the deal a long time ago. With the sale of wright-phillips and shevchenko, surely we can't be that stupid. Unless Scolari has faith in malouda and di santo to perform it looks like we not making any more signings. Im just not gonna be convinced until the clock strikes 00:00. I just hope and pray we don't get an injury striken season.
  23. But for me Kenyon's Job is to get the deal done, Robinho wanted to leave for Chelsea. Which should make it easier to strike a deal like we all assumed. I am unimpressed that we didn't get a deal done for around £28 Million, i know that's down to Real Madrids part but for a player that says he wants to come to our club and is our target it should be easy to get him for a reasonable price. But we've made an enemy with Madrid and now someone else has come in with a huge bid. I said im impressed that we haven't took there bate and outbid City like we have tend to have done in the past and i mean that for all we know that we could be making a last minute ditch signing because we're Chelsea. Meaning that we've spent loads of money on players in the past which has not been needed. All im saying is that we could be learning from our past mistakes or we may not be.
  24. Anything can happen in this transfer window at this moment in time, i wouldn't be surprised if we walked out with a big name signing. We're Chelsea If it fails and we walk out with nobody, Kenyon has failed. However i am impressed that we are not giving in to making a mega bid. But as a said we're Chelsea and for all we know we could be making a massive bid for someone.
  25. Has this been confirmed? All i've seen is that an acceptance on a bid, no word from Robinho nothing. Hour to go, just remember Spurs accepted Citys bid and now he's off to Utd.
