  1. Kepa Azpi Christensen Zouma Emerson Kante Jorginho Kovacic Pedro Abraham Mount
  2. Whatever the intended formation, Jorginho was isolated on his own in the middle without any support for pretty much the whole of the 2nd half. Kante wasn't next to him, Kante was pressing on the right. That's what I saw anyway.
  3. I watched the game too and there is no way Kante was in a 2 with Jorginho in midfield. Whoscored had it correct - https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1375940/Live/England-Premier-League-2019-2020-Chelsea-Leicester Also check Mason and Kante's heat maps - Kante right and Mason left. Obviously the left midfielder is the attacking midfielder (as was with Sarri last year), so Mason's heat map is very slightly higher up the pitch than Kante, but as you will see, most of Mason's play was from the left and Kante on the right. I couldn't have had a better view of the pitch from East stand upper.
  4. The TV companies might have had us down as a 4-2-3-1 formation, but we were definitely 4-3-3 yesterday. Jorginho was on his own in the midd;e with Kante pressing on the right-hand side with Mount pressing on the left.
  5. The past 2 games (Liverpool and Leicester) we've played 4-3-3 with Jorginho in the middle and Kante on the right. Exactly the same as Sarri. Baffles me how some fans refuse to see what is in front of their face.
  6. Zouma was our best player yesterday imo. He saved us so many times despite the defense being horribly exposed by our non-existent midfield. He was even spraying long diagonal balls perfectly with both his left and right foot - it's the best I've seen him on the ball by a mile! I'm not sure if he could have done better with the corner, it as hard to see from where I was sat. I know the fans around me all seemed to really appreciate Kurt's performance. Emerson was also very good, as were Mount and Pedro before they seemed to really tire in the second half.
  7. What was even more impressive was that it was with his weaker left foot!
  8. Dybala is massively over-rated
  9. I 100% think we have a chance. It's not going to be easy, but we have a really talented young team who will only get better and better throughout the season as they gain experience. Outplaying Liverpool over 90 minutes and being unlucky only to draw is an extremely positive sign. Shows we can match/better anyone on our day.
  10. You weren't as negative last year when we were getting ripped apart by Bournemouth and City - what's changed? We have a squad filled with some of the brightest prospects in Europe - I'd back us to give anyone a game!
  11. What a lack of faith in your team. Embarrassing.
  12. The last game all 3 of them played together they were also very very good. Chelsea 4-1 Arsenal.
  13. Chilwell Sancho Upamecano And a striker.
  14. First major interview with Reece James. I cannot wait to see what he can do! https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/chelsea-fc-news-reece-james-interview-profile-epl-a9054596.html
  15. I'm calling it now... Future Chelsea captain!
  16. There was a comparison yesterday where Azpi found himself in pretty much the exact same position Zouma was in against Rashford. Azpi stayed on his feet and cut off all angles and eventually blocked the shot/pass. Zouma on the other hand dives in and gives away a senseless penalty. Azpi could definitely do a job in the middle. It's really difficult to try and defend Zouma's mistake yesterday - "stay on your feet" and "don't go to ground in the box" must be the first things that a centre-half learns! Still willing to give him a few more games though to see if he improves. It was his first game back at a pumped up Old Trafford and there was obviously some anxiety in his game. Hopefully he starts to settle down with a little run in the team.
  17. No actually. Personally I'd rather encourage, support and advise them. They may not be in the right job (and Bakayoko probably isn't at the right club), but "expressing your frustration and distaste in them" is counterproductive.
  18. Never a dull moment at our club - you have to laugh! If this is true then Lamps has shown a ruthless streak that I was worried he might not have. I was slightly concerned that he'd favour the likes of Luiz and Willian because he played in the same team as them - but it appears not! Lamps showing that he's boss - love it!! (Edit: If this is true of course!)
  19. Ask any Everton fan and they'd tell you how good he was for them last season. They unanimously wanted to sign him from us permanently, and they're the fans who have been watching him week-in week-out. I don't agree with writing a player off before they've even had a consistent run of games in the first team - how unfair and negative is that? He may never improve, but he deserves a chance. Same can be said for Tammy Abraham too - some on here are already writing him off before he's even started a single game for us!!
  20. Kepa Azpi Christensen Luiz Emerson Jorginho Kovacic Mount Barkley Pulisic Abraham I know that we haven't seen it so far in pre-season, but I wouldn't be surprised if Lamps tried to fit both Mount and Barkley in the team by playing Mount on the right instead of Pedro. It's also something that I'd quite like to see as Mount has an excellent eye for a pass and good attacking instincts. He's also excellent at pressing from the front.
  21. I'm surprised that no one has attempted to take him on loan. I couldn't see us standing in his way if a club offered to pay half his wages to take him away for a season.
  22. I couldn't disagree more. I'm with Frank on this one... "It's not only his quality on the ball. We know all about that from last year, his comfort on the ball and the bravery he shows. It's not normal to receive the ball in tight areas and to deal with it - and to keep doing it constantly. "His attitude in training has also been first class. He's a driver of a session. He's a voice. He runs, he pushes people around him, he drags people up when he doesn't feel they're working as much as he might want - and I've loved seeing that. So in terms of first impressions, working with him for 10 days, I can't ask for any more. I'm delighted to have him."
  23. Tammy really impressed me against Barca. He led the press brilliantly, better than I've ever seen from Giroud. Being a lot faster and younger surely helps with this. I was also really impressed with his first touch and how he held up the ball. He was very strong and the ball just stuck to him. I like Giroud and think he's underrated, but I'd rather give Tammy a chance because he could end up being a star.
  24. I don’t even want to think about the money because the sums being quoted are beyond ridiculous. It’s up to the club how much they want to spend - I really hope the £100k figure is correct and not the £180k that sky have mentioned though. Regarding Hudson-Odoi, I’m absolutely delighted that he’s signed on because he is undoubtably one the best talents in world football. What other players in world football have achieved what he has at 17/18? He was the star man in one of the best youth academies in the world over the past few years. An academy that has dominated in the UK and abroad. He was a key member of the England u17’s World Cup winning team. And he’s also broken into and started for the England national team. He was one of the best players on the pitch on his England start. Whether he reaches his potential remains to be seen, but he’s most certainly one of the most exciting talents in world football. He’s only 18, I can’t believe he’s already getting a bit of critism for some of his performances on here. Give it 3-4 years and I predict that we’ll have a worldie of a player on our hands.
  25. Very impressed with Tammy's first touch today. The ball is sticking to him under pressure. Took his goal well too - it's just a shame that he missed a good chance a little earlier. We're the better team here - really liking the look of this line-up. Impressed by Pulisic too - he's looking class!
