  1. Actually, only a select few want Torres. I'm simply of the opinion that have a big money transfer like this sends out a massive message of intent. However, I would much rather it be spent on Aguero, over Torres.
  2. "Chelsea cannot have him because they want him and the club need to send that message out clearly. To put in "street" terms, "Don't mess with us, we're the big boys."" Definite highlight. This guys clutching at straws.
  3. Good point, but at least it shows a bit of ambition.
  4. I wouldn't be particularly fond of this signing, but it would definitely be a step in the right direction.
  5. Cech or Ramires, either could've got it. Went for Ramires on the whole, as he made contributions in both ends of the field, hitting the post at one end, saving a goal-bound shot at the other. Seems like we've acquired an absolute gem, lads!
  6. What are the chances they're there for the match, then shooting over to Anfield for negotiate...?
  7. I'll take a replay. Much better last 20 from us, but for a while there Everton dominated us totally. Thank God for Kalou ;)
  8. That's downright bizarre. Why are we so reluctant at buying big players these days? Ah well, at least we'll have Torres as a comforter.......
  9. Do you not either? Basically, University has messed up my sleeping pattern, meaning sleeping till 5am isn't an irregular occurence any more.
  10. After weeks and weeks of wanting to watch it, I've finally got round to watching The Walking Dead, 4 episodes down and it's quality so far. May even see the end before tonight is out!
  11. Sorry, what? Closest thing to Drogba's style? A not particularly strong, quick, goal poacher is close to Drogba's powerhouse, bully defenders, goal scoring machine? Okay.
  12. I know he's not a left back, but young Jacob Mellis signed a new contract today until 2013, and he's been on the bench a few times, expect him to be on the bench on Saturday again.
  13. I'm basically the exact same as Plok, being of similar age. I grew up with Chelsea, having a Chelsea fanatic as a Dad, so I took an interest in it from the start, the first game I remember distinctly watching when I was younger was Chelsea v Stuttgart in the CWC Final (we should all remember that one) and the first game I ever physically went to was Chelsea 5 - 1 Bolton back at Christmas time, 2001, and it shall never be forgotten, and that was the day I properly considered myself a fan. Although going to high school from 2003 onwards was just begging for trouble as it coincided with RA's arrival perfectly. I've always been given stick for it, claiming I was just a glory hunter, but I've never had any of it. Chelsea is my religion.
  14. Chelsea have exploited an obscure bi-law to sign Aguero, Luiz and Sanchez for a pint of bitter?
  15. I'm happy with Carlo if I'm honest. Jose is and always will be a fantastic manager, but Carlo seems to be happy to be a long term solution, like some have said, Jose isn't that. Let Carlo establish himself, he could well be a nicer, better version of Fergie if we give him time.
  16. This has been dragged out far too long. I think we may have to give up on this one.
  17. Agreed, that was absolutely shocking. Lamps just scored probably his most important penalty of his life, and in that situation it was one of the best pens I've seen. Gray is a nasty piece of work, and good riddance to him. Keys is also a nasty piece of work, possibly even nastier, and especially after watching that video. He's acting like he bloody owns the place with a comment like that, and the way he sits there lazily with his feet up on the table at one point. Can't stand him.
  18. This is really out of the blue. I just saw by accident "Chelsea fail in £52million bid" at the top ofthe BBC page, I was completely baffled. Considering David Luiz *seems* to be on the verge, the Godin part was the most confusing, but the figure is most definitely, like dkw said, a statement of intent. Sign Luiz in the coming 24 hours, and then have a massive 5 day attempt to finally get Aguero on deadline day. That'd do me nicely.
  19. I think so too, didn't someone say on the forum a few days back that Ivan said in an interview he'd be happy to play RB, just as long as he's a first team regular, or something like that!
  20. Rajkovic? It would be a bit harsh to pull him from Vitesse though, to just loan him to another club. I have no idea who that could be. Bertrand? Very odd. I just want this transfer to be done.
  21. Excellent win! I missed the first 13 minutes due to finding a stream, but we never looked in trouble from then on. We defended free kicks excellently, created chances and finally converted them in the 2nd half. Delighted Ramires scored, loved the celebration too. Excellent sign that things are not as we feared in the dressing room (even though that was very doubtful) and that is exactly what we needed. A 4-0 hammering against a team that has an impressive home record this season. Anelka annoyed me, though. That was my only issue, he would breakaway down the right or left with some great pace, but then he would just stop, just dawdling up to the full back, and a pretty piss poor attempt at getting passed him or crossing it in. Yes he scored and it was a good finish, but he annoyed me on the whole tonight.
  22. Fringe is exceptionally good, and it just gets better and better. Not seen the latest episode yet, but it's guaranteed to be awesome. For the UK tv show fans, I very very very highly recommend Being Human. Series 3 started yesterday, and it's seriously brilliant. It's scary, funny, emotional, everything you want from a program. It's incredibly good,
  23. So.... 21.5 or 26? I'm confused.
  24. Interesting. It'd definitely be a good decision to buy a centre-back, but at £26million, he must be one of the more expensive centre backs sold anywhere in recent memory? Not far behind that of Ferdinand years ago. It does bode well for the future, but at a price like that, one would expect him to go pretty much straight into the first team alongside JT, moving Ivan to right back, which is fine, but once Alex is back, what would happen there? Would Luiz be dropped in favour of the in-form, pre-injury Alex (baring in mind that Alex will take some weeks on the bench to get him back to full fitness)? Promising, but slightly pecular signing all the same.
