  1. Oh yes, Arkham City. I think it'll be much more free-roam than Arkham Asylum, and as long as they keep the gameplay and graphics the same, it'll be one of the best supergames ever made, right up there with Spider-Man 2. I really hope Arkham City is amazing, Asylum was incredible, one of my favourite games of all time.
  2. Had Drogba been on the pitch, Anelka more than likely wouldn't've had to even take a pen!
  3. It is an incredible trailer. It's a trailer mega budget horror films would be proud of, let alone a game for PS3/Xbox. Love it.
  4. Paul, the latest outing from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, also starring the always hilarious Seth Rogen (only voice, but he's amazing). And though it's not quite as good as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, this is still a really, really funny film! Loved it.
  5. "Obviously we are disappointed. We worked hard for 2hrs and created a lot of chances. We deserved to win." Knew it. Sorry Carlo, get your head out of your arse and see what's there that clearly EVERYONE sees except for you.
  6. I thought Essien played well throughout his time on the pitch, Ramires wasn't up to his normal standard.
  7. Awful performance. I'm with Gem, I think that's Carlo's nail in the coffin. I don't normally have such a reaction, but I've had enough now of staying optimistic. Carlo doesn't seem arsed at all. In the interview, I haven't seen it, but I just know he'll say stuff along the lines of "we need more pressure, next game we will fix this." Really Carlo? Really? Sometimes you need to just lose your head. Lose it Carlo, now. Or you're gone, Clement will be manager, and we look to Robbie Di Matteo.
  8. http://embed.zonein.tv/plkgftdhgfhydfyhayer.php?id=218060&w=900&h=600 First one I clicked and it's immense. I won't hold my breath for it lasting much longer, but it's a start!
  9. Quite like that one. Carlo's indecision to say whether Nelks will start suggests he most likely won't. When he said Boss wasn't available, I had a mini heart-attack thinking who the hell could play right back or centre back if Luiz was ineligible, Bruma on loan and Alex injured, but I then remembered about Paulo! Can't believe I forgot about Paulo. McEachran starting (in place of Essien) would be, quite literally, the PERFECT team I think. I really hope he does. I normally don't wake up until around 12, so I hope I wake up to see him in the starting line up. Would be ideal.
  10. It's on ESPN, it should be on ITV because it's quite a big replay, but no, Man U v Crawley is, with ITV claiming it's for Crawley, but we all know it's just to cream over Rooney and co.
  11. Exactly what I'm thinking. I'm around the same age as you, just a year or so younger, went to my first game at the Bridge when I was 9, and I think the first season I can properly remember was 1999/2000, when we got into the CL for the first time, and my Dad has lots of Season Reviews (for some reason, 98/99 is my pick of the bunch, perhaps just for Goldbaek's goal v. Spuds...) and I've seen most years of the Premiership years, bar maybe a few. Being this young has disadvantages in the real world, where because of my age, people assume I only got into football when Abramovich came to Chelsea, and I push the statements away because I know they're not true. I've grown up with Chelsea thanks to my Dad, and I don't ever intend to stop. I look forward to the days when I can say I've supported them since I was 10, raise my kids in a Chelsea environnment, get their first kit. Hopefully we'll remain in the best league in the world for decades to come, but football can do strange things. If we get relegated 3 seasons in a row, I'll stick it out, no matter how gray the days become. Basically, I'm Chelsea till I die. I don't think I can put myself in the same class of fan with the likes of yorkley, Chippy, Loz, Mod, dkw et al because they've been at it for years. However I can say that I will eventually be in the same bracket as them after I stick it out for the coming century.
  12. Hoping desperately for Forest to go up, simply because I'll get to go and see premiership football with relative ease! Cardiff going up would be incredible, with them being (pretty much) my home town team.
  13. This has been a big topic of conversation amongst me and my football buddies, none of them Chelsea and it's quite interesting what they've said. All of whom agreed that he should stay because (though they couldn't help digging at his diving record) he's an absolute beast, and he's a useful asset to have. However, I was the only one who saw it differently, I genuinely believe we've had the best out of Drogba in his time year, last year being his last great year for us. It's time to move on I think, especially with the signing of Torres. We should easily get a few bob out of him (something around £20million I think) considering his age, but it'll still be a useful sum of money for Abra/Carlo to play with to bring in some personnel in the summer, ideally a winger for the 4-3-3 (I don't think Malouda can quite cut it there anymore, even with Zhirkov now back, I don't think Carlo sees Zhirkov as a winger, more a left mid/cover for Ash), or a proper #10 if he wants to go the diamond/4-3-1-2 route. The summer will be very interesting transitionally, I think we'll see quite a few faces go, with quite a few coming in, maybe not like for like replacements. I think Drogba and Anelka will leave in the summer, bringing in Lukaku (hopefully...) a creative midfielder, around the same age as Ramires, who I'm not quite sure about, and finally a winger, preferably Sanchez. I'm aware this is just a pipe dream, but I genuinely think that in the summer, we should have a look at the 4-2-3-1 formation. The back 5 picks itself (Cech, Ivan, Luiz, JT, Ash (Alex a more than capable substitute)), and Torres (Lukaku/Sturridge being his replacement) will be up front on his own. The five in midfield will be a bit more difficult to breakdown, plus it's more than capable of merging to a 4-1-4-1 when we're on the attack. What I would LOVE to see is: ----------------------------Cech ----Ivan-----------Luiz-----------JT-----------Ash --------------Ramires--------Essien/Mikel ---Sanchez----Josh/NewCreativeMid----Zhirkov ------------------------Torres Subs: Turnbull, PVA, Alex, Essien/Mikel, Lampard, Kalou/Kakuta, Sturridge/Lukaku I know it's incredibly early to suggest a change like this, but I think it'd work.
  14. Barcelona were awful in the second half, I thought Arsenal fully deserved their win. I agree with Abramovich and ethical too, Wilshere was immense. Second leg is going to be interesting!
  15. Looks like Josh got at least two assists in that one too. What does Borini have to do to earn at least a chance? He must've scored about 3 hat-tricks already this season, even scored 5 in one game. He definitely has potential, he needs to be given a chance. How, though, is another question entirely, with a strike force of Drogba, Torres, Anelka, Kalou, Malouda, Sturridge all vying for a place in the front 2 or 3.
  16. Are you sure? I thought UEFA bent the rules a bit as a one off to suit their beloved Liverpool?
  17. To be fair, if you're comparing him with the likes of Squillaci and Djourou, then he has a point ;) However to say he is THE best in the PL this season is going a bit far, he's been great, but not at his best. Vidic is probably the best in the league, if you want my honest opinion.
  18. Good shout, though I have to admit having seen all of the Batman "remakes", the current batch is far and away the best.
  19. Superman is coming mighty close, there's been at least 4 different versions of Superman, with another one set for 2012.
  20. I'm quite liking that. Put Luiz in DM, with a licence to get forward, because he genuinely looked a threat around the area (who can forget his quite unbelievable bicycle kick almost-assist!). I would happily try a midfield trio of Luiz/Ramires/Lampard.
  21. Ramires for me, didn't put a foot wrong, never stopped running. Luiz was just as fantastic however, bar a few lapses in concentration as he gave the ball away during one of his thousand excellent adventures up field.
  22. There are going to be a lot of haters on here tonight, which is going to piss me off. I'm not that angry at the team collectively. Look at the positives, our defence was FANTASTIC all game, Ramires is showing signs of being an incredible player for us, and we did at least create chances, it's just Fulham parked the bus and broke for the most of the game. I'm not entirely sure why people are getting annoyed at Frank, I thought he was alright, he didn't set us alight, but he played better than Essien. Essien was relatively poor, but he played better than last week, he had a bit more drive about his play, we shouldn't give up on him just yet. It's the attack I have a real problem with. Anelka and Malouda were SHOCKING today, let's be honest. Torres had a frustrating first half, his second was much brighter and he'll come good, just give him time. I think people just need to stop putting so much pressure on him, let him ease into our system, and he'll get there. Very rarely do strikers signed in January play as well as they should (see Anelka's first half season for full details). Drogba was bright when he came on, but Kalou was pretty poor once again. Anelka and Malouda are the real negatives to come out of this one. Anelka was playing far too narrow, leaving Salcido acres of space to run into if they broke on the left, leaving Ivan to deal with him because he just didn't track back. Malouda was the worst of the lot if you ask me. When he got into a good position, he would do the complete wrong decision and either try and cut inside where there are 2 defenders waiting for him, or play a nothing ball, or just pass it back to Ashley. He was awful, absolutely awful. Kalou wasn't much better, but at least he offered good width on the right and worked well with Ivan/Luiz. Aside from Luiz's blip at the end, he was absolutely fantastic, a full debut anyone would be proud of. He was assured, confident on the ball, off the ball, great tackling. He gave the ball away once or twice, but besides that he was remarkable. People calling for Carlo's head is a bit silly if you ask me. The players aren't performing, I really don't see what he can do about it. You can argue that he has to get the guys spirits up and get their confidence up, but it's not his fault. We need to find a system that works for Torres. I don't think two up front is the way to go, Drogba and Torres are both strikers that want/need to be in the spotlight, putting them together kind of cancels them out, IMO. Torres won't be playing this weekend anyway because he's cup-tied, but Anelka should stay warming the bench. For the weekend, I'd like to see: --------------------------------------Cech ---Ivan---------Luiz----------------------------------JT---------Ashley ------------------------------------Essien ------------------Ramires------------------------Lampard ---------------------------------McEachran ------------------------Kalou----------------Drogba Never going to happen, I expect a similar team to the Sunderland one, but McEachran needs to play on the weekend. He needs to prove that he can unlock defenses, spread the play and keep a cool head. I think it shall forever remain a pipe dream, however.
  23. BluesChronicle on Twitter: Team to face Fulham: Cech, Ivan, Luiz, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Essien, Lampard, MALOUDA, ANELKA, TORRES. Like it. Glad to see Carlo has balls to drop Drogba!
  24. True, but Ivan seemed to do pretty well last season sprinting up and down the right. Not as quick as Bosingwa, but I think he has a better cross than Boss, plus he's an all round better defender. I don't see why he couldn't do his right back role adequately at all.
