Chelsea v Man City (PL) 20/03/11 KO 16:00 GMT
Malouda was my only disappointment today, he was useless. Everyone else from the back four, Lamps, Essien, Ramires, Kalou, Torres, Zhirkov, Drogs and Anelka all did exactly what we needed. Luiz is going to be some player as if he already isn't. RAMIRES is my motm though, he was incredible all game, and his goal just capped off his best performance in a Chelsea shirt. Fantastic win for us, 3rd place, 3 behind Arsenal and in their form we could catch them very soon. Going to be a fantastic last 9 games if we win like we did today. COME ON THE BLUES!

I watched The Descent a little earlier, great film. But, to anyone who's seen it, I'd like a take on the ending, because I had quite a heated argument about the ending with a friend I was watching it with.

Champions League Draw
Oh man. I woke up to this news, I'm not sure what to make of it. It's the draw of the QF, but Spuds/Real will be incredibly interesting. Barca will more than likely get to the final I think. Let's take it as it comes. Come on Chels!

Another fantastic dose of optimism from BlueSkies.

MOTM vs FC Copenhagen (home leg)
Lamps all day for me. He was like Ramires, he just ran and ran and ran, helped out with some cracking interceptions and tackles in defence, then he'd pelt it up field to support Drogs and Anelka, his trademark runs were back, such a shame no one really picked up on them, and when they did, they didn't quite come off!

Chelsea v FC Copenhagen (CL) 16/03/11 KO 19:45 GMT
As uttered a thousand times already, job done. Though, I thought the match was just strange on the whole. Some of our football (first half particularly) was absolutely fantastic, other times it was woeful. Sort that out and we should be back to normal! Hard luck on us not to score tonight, Nelks could've had about 5, Zhirkov should've scored, Lamps probably would've scored had he not tried to set up Nando (and who said no one passes to him?). But, we're Chelsea, and we have those games, thankfully we had it today when it didn't matter, rather than on Sunday, where we should be well up for the match. KTBFFH!

Chelsea v FC Copenhagen (CL) 16/03/11 KO 19:45 GMT
Disagree I'm afraid. I know Carlo has been saying he's taking it game by game, but he can't NOT be thinking about Citeh on Sunday, absolutely huge game for both sides. Zhirkov will probably get a start, Anelka too, Kalou probably will. Ramires may be rested cause he's worked harder than anyone in recent weeks. I'm not saying we should write this one off, it's going to be a lot more difficult than lots think, but Citeh is even bigger.

I think I'd rather Anelka too, but if I were Kalou I'd be pretty annoyed if I got benched after such a strong showing last match, so that's the main reason I put Kalou in.

Torres
Great point. I think Dzeko has played 10 games for City so far, 7 in the league, 2 in the FA Cup and 1 in the Europa League (I assume before Thursday, where he didn't score). He's scored 3 goals, none of which in the league, 1 vs Notts County and 2 vs Aris Tessdaly. My friend in Uni has quite a famous Man City blog, and he hasn't seen much quality from Dzeko since his arrival. Torres has 4 starts in the league and 1 in the CL, and has actually been playing quite well. Which, all things considered, is better?

It's such a shame she was in the middle though!

Agreed, it's just the premise of the whole film that drew so many people in. It is a disgusting idea, but I didn't think the director took enough risks when making it. He gave it a disgusting idea, why not make it an actually disgusting film, rather than the drivel it actually was?

Neymar
That is actually quite plausible for the future, when compared to some bizarre suggestions where we sign Schwinsteiger, Aguero, Neymar, Ganso, Lukaku and me. But I don't know about your narrow 4-3-3, much prefer wide players, we'd be far too reliant on playing it through the middle.

Following our young guys!
Sadly so. I read the "Loan Interest" article on the official site earlier, and it said that Jack had racked up 150 career appearances, 0 of which were for Chelsea. I can definitely see him going, but I don't see why we can't get a similar price to Scott Sinclair for him (£500,000). With Josh coming through, Conor Clifford who some of us on here have high hopes for, Jacob Mellis, I can't see him making it here.

Chelsea v FC Copenhagen (CL) 16/03/11 KO 19:45 GMT
I think against Copenhagen we should have the same team that finished the match against Blackpool - Kalou playing in the hole just off Torres, perhaps Zhirkov rather than Malouda, but I wouldn't be too fussy on who starts on the left. Kalou showed what he's good at on Monday, running at defenders, making space for players, like Lampard, to run into and score. If Nando picks up on this, they could actually flourish. Granted, I'm basing that on one 30 minute substitute appearance, but with a 2-0 away goals lead, I don't see why we can't give that a try. ------------------------------Cech ----Ferreira--------Ivan------------JT-----------Ashley ----Ramires------Essien-------Lampard------Zhirkov -------------------Kalou ----------------------------------Torres

Torres
This thread is just as depressing as the match threads after EVERY MATCH WE PLAY. It's been 5 games. Is he not allowed to settle in at all? I'd expect saying stuff like this from anti-Chelsea fans, but not from here.

Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals
That's literally the WORST Champions League 2nd leg I've ever watched. Tottenham did nothing, Milan did nothing. Uch.

MOTM vs Blackpool
Went for Lamps on this one, his second was brilliantly finished after great work from Kalou. Lamps finally looks like he's back. Honourable mentions to Essien, JT and Kalou too. I personally thought this was one of Ramires' less impressive games, he didn't do anything wrong and did his job down the right, but to me he just seemed a bit quiet.

Blackpool v Chelsea (PL) 07/03/11 KO 20:00 GMT
Exactly this. I remember one occasion where he actually ran at the defence, but even then he gave them a goal kick. He was a liability defensively, and he pretty much imploded in the last 10 minutes, giving the ball away twice, the first time we conceded the goal, the second caused JT to have a great block, looking absolutely furious afterwards. On the brightside, we overcame a potentially tricky away tie without playing particularly well, besides Lamps, Essien and Kalou who all played really well today, Kalou was great when he came on. 3 points nearer to the summit, guys, and that's what's important. It wasn't Torres' day today, but his movement remains excellent, he will get his goal soon.

Gareth Bale Rumours
I very highly rate Bale, but I don't see why we should spend upwards of £40million on him, when we could get someone like Hazard, who it seems we have actually shown an interest in, for half that.

Games that still keep you awake
Definitely the CL Final and Barca Semi the next year. The CL Final, we dominated the second half and extra time, Drogba AND Lamps hit the woodwork. Generally horrible night. Barca Semi is just for the injustice. How does a referee miss THAT MANY crucial decisions? Ridiculous. Terrible, terrible evening.

Last Movie You Watched
I'm currently studying "Celle Qui N'Etait-Plus" for my literature module in French, and after reading that I was advised to check out the film adaptation, Les Diaboliques. And having only seen quite literally a handful of black and white movies in my time, this one definitely tops the list, it was fantastic. The ending took some time thinking about, as when it ended, I was just confused. But I re-watched the last 5 or so minutes maybe 3 times, and though it is as ambiguous an ending as you're ever likely to see, I loved it. Ambiguity is brilliant.
