  2. Knocked Up last night, absolutely hilarious. Some hate Seth Rogen, but I think he's brilliant myself.
  3. It's a big question. Anelka is the only January signing of recent memory that was more or less a starting 11 man from the start, but I don't see that happening this time around. A squad striker (not one that can play on the wing like Anelka, an out and out striker) and a squad centre back most likely. But who knows, they could originally be squad players, but have the best half season of their lives, and next season they're our #9.
  4. 1. What are your thoughts on Sunday’s game, how important is it for Chelsea to claim maximum points? I think it's definitely our biggest match of the season. Our rough patch has hit us hard, we're 4th now, when at one point we were 5 points clear. I genuinely believe a draw won't do in this match, a win is a must to get us back on track, and also for a much much much needed confidence boost. 2. Frank Lampard is expected to start, how big is his return for Chelsea? What team do you expect Ancelotti to select? Lamps coming back is absolutely huge. We've definitely missed his presence, I think it was taken for granted that he is the main point of communication between defence and attack, such is his box-to-box abilities. It seemed for a little while that it wouldn't be his goalscoring we would miss the most, Malouda seemed to be doing just fine filling that role, but it became clear that we needed someone that can just pop up from nowhere to deliver a vital touch, Essien, Ramires and certainly not Mikel were never likely to be able to do that. The team should really pick itself, with Lamps starting. Cech, Ferreira, Ivanovic, JT, Cole, Mikel, Essien, Lampard, Anelka, Drogba, Malouda. That's the ideal team, whether the front 3 will be like that will have to wait, Kalou has been favoured over Anelka or Drogba a lot recently. 3. Do you know the reason why Ray Wilkins left Chelsea? Would you care to speculate? Frank Arnesen is leaving when his contract expires at the end of season and Ancelotti appears to be a lonely figure. What is happening behind the scenes at Chelsea? I have absolutely no idea on Wilkins, I really don't. Whether it was a disagreement with Roman, Carlo, Gourlay, God knows. I think what could be happening is that Carlo has already lined up his assistants, Emenalo doesn't seem to be a long term replacement. It could possibly mean Carlo's team from Milan could be coming here, I'm not sure, we'll have to wait and see. 4. If everyone is fit Chelsea have a very strong starting XI. However, is there an over reliance on younger players if first regulars are unavailable? Is Chelsea’s squad lacking strength in depth? Maybe not an over reliance, more an over expectance of them. People like McEachran and Kakuta, some have expected them to come on and change games instantly, and it hasn't happened quite like that. I think strength in depth is an issue, most definitely up front. In midfield and defence we have a very strong set, and players like McEachran and Bruma can slot into it, alongside the experienced JT for example. Up front, it's definitely either getting on a bit (Drogba, Anelka, Malouda - first choice attack - are all 30+ now), still underachieving (Kalou!) or too young to be relied on totally as yet (Sturridge). 5. The reason for Chelsea’s drop in form, is it the departure of Wilkins? Or,is it injuries/suspensions to key players? Injuries and suspensions are the key ones I think. It's just crazy that in our spine of Cech, JT, Essien, Lampard and Drogba, 4 of them have been injured or suspended, pretty much all at the same time, it's just a terrible stroke of luck. 6. What are your thoughts on new signing Ramires? He's not quite adapted yet to the Premiership, but he's definitely improving. His energy will be useful, as he just runs and runs and runs, like Park does for you, for example, he doesn't stop. He was a big help against Tottenham on the weekend too, he was a big factor in stopping Bale. 7. Which Chelsea youngsters are worth keeping an eye on and why? Josh McEachran and Gaël Kakuta and Fabio Borini are names that spring to mind. McEachran is definitely the one on top at the moment. Every appearance he's made he's been nothing short of remarkable for a 17 year old. The videos on YouTube of him should prove that, he should be included more and more, starts in the FA Cup are essential and starts in the league every now and then too, against teams like West Ham or Wolves. Kakuta was one we all had very high hopes for after Kakuta-gate, but since then he's been disappointing, he definitely has talent, but he's trying a bit too hard at the moment, trying to run with the ball a lot, dribble past players when passing it to a player in space is clearly the better option. A player that has been getting rave reviews on here is Patrick Van Aanholt, a dutch left back that's clearly picked up a lot of tips from Ashley Cole, he played for 90 minutes against Zilina in the Champions League a few weeks ago, and he was excellent, clear Man of the Match. He could step into Ashley's shoes very easily, although whether he could keep Ronaldo in his pocket like Ashley did when he played for you is another question entirely ;) 8. Favourite Manchester United vs Chelsea match and Why? 3 spring to mind. The 3-0 demolition of you to seal our second premiership title was incredible, the 2-1 last season was also amazing, and the 3-3 at your place back in the early 2000s, Hasselbaink scoring an absolute screamer. 9. Favourite all time Chelsea player and why? I've always had an affinity to Eidur Gudjohnsen, his class was there for all to see, his bicycle against Leeds is my favourite goal of all time, and he's an all round nice guy too. He never got the praise he deserved in my book, but his partnership with Hasselbaink was second to none, love the guy. Cheers!
  5. I think the Bridge pitch should hold up, there's under soil heating isn't there? It takes quite a lot to postpone a Premiership match these days.
  6. The Children. I'd seen it a few times when out buying dvd's, it was on Sky last night and thought it would be a good laugh if I'm honest because it's about four children going on a murderous rampage at a christmas family party. As it turns out, I was completely wrong, there was something horribly creepy about the whole film and sometimes I was genuinely scared watching it, something a current horror film hasn't done since 30 Days of Night, and that was way back in 2007! Quality horror film.
  7. Isn't M Night Shyamalan linked to that? Surely that was a HUGE red flag even before it started. I'm going with Andreas on this one, it really is exceptional. Moi, I don't think it left you "not knowing", that was just the impact Nolan wanted to have. Leaving it open like that makes sure it's going to be talked about, and it certainly has - people are STILL on about it and I saw it way back at the beginning of August! Surely you can appreciate the magnitude gone into the project, the attention to detail I'm not sure if this bit is a spoiler, but I'll do so anyway, in case it is! Nolan is a genius writer I think, Inception is the best thing he's ever done I think. What didn't you like about it, moi?
  8. Dara O'Briain tweeted that earlier today, it's brilliant!
  9. He looks quality, definitely looks up to the physical nature of the PL too.
  10. So a 17 year old who has 11 appearances to his name for the first team and an under-21s call up is destined to fail? Good job.
  11. We should still be looking at Aguero!
  12. The main one is the simple fact that Defoe WAS OFFSIDE. Simple as that, had the linesman called it, it would've stayed 0-0, changed the entire game, we were playing well at that time.
  13. Has to be Terry, captain fantastic is well and truly back. Ivan was excellent alongside him again, and Ash had a very solid game too, I thought. Our whole defence had a good game I think, nothing could be done about their goal
  14. Very fair arguement. I just think that it would be unfair on Drogs, though. He's been our pen man since the end of August, Lamps gets 15 minutes and immediately he's first choice? Gotta keep it consitent until Lamps gets his form back I think!
  15. I have to disagree about the pen, Westway. It was a poor penalty, far too close to the centre of the goal, perfect height for Gomes. However, I do agree that DD was the right choice, Lamps didn't have many touches of the ball, having him take a penalty in the 92nd minute would've been insane, PLUS he's missed lots of his last penalties.
  16. Ruh Buh Juh replied to a post in a topic in General Chelsea FC
I think based on this match, that's a resounding NO. He didn't care, took a gamble playing Lamps and it very nearly paid off. More of this please, Carlo!
  17. Yes, Drogba should've scored the pen, but as far as I'm concerned going to Spurs, who're playing exceptionally well this season, and getting a point is A POINT GAINED. None of this two points dropped business, we played well for the first time in a long time, no negativity please. KTBFFH!!!
  18. Agreed, their new stuff is really good, but it's very commercial too, and though I'm glad they're finally getting the recognition they deserve, I always find myself going back to Blackened Sky and Vertigo of Bliss.
  19. Frank Turner tonight in Leicester! So excited, I saw him 2 years ago as a supporting act to Gaslight Anthem, fast became one of my favourites, now I can FINALLY see him headlining!!
  20. I finally lost my Pulp Fiction virginity. It was absolutely incredible. Genuinely. Probably the single best film I've ever seen!
  21. Far and away McEachran. I think I counted two misplaced passes, which is just phenomenal from a 17 year old.
  22. McEachran was excellent, the only plus point of the match, sadly. Malouda was very, very average, Drogba and Kalou were shocking, Sturridge not much better. Essien and Ramires way off the pace, the back 4, apart from possibly Bosingwa had stinkers, Cech didn't have a save to make, I don't think. This is bad times, but I'm not going to make a song and dance about it, just keep calm, and hope.
  23. Sturridge and Bruma have come on for a good 30 and 20 minutes respectivley. Should silence the nonsensicals.
  24. Drogba has been very, very disappointing. He's trying to do everything himself. Kalou was overlapping into space, Drogba tries an impossible pass over 3 defenders to Malouda which is intercepted. Kalou overlapping again, pointless shot straight at the keeper. Really bugging me. Josh has been excellent, however, I saw 1 misplaced pass in the whole first half.
