  1. We actually have a lot more than that, we have more songs than most clubs but they just don't get sung. I've created this website, listing all the ones I know: EDIT: Ok they removed the link, sorry. :D
  2. Selling Bridge doesn't leave us vulnerable in the LB spot, Ashley Cole is a relatively fit player who rarely gets injured *touch wood* but if he does then Belletti is capable playing there, as is Ferriera and I reckon Ivanovic could too plus Essien when he gets back to fitness. Selling Bridge was worthwhile, though it's sad cause he's a legend for that goal, cause we need the money and the squad is over-crowded. Also our midfield isn't as crowded as everyone thinks it is. Malouda, J Cole and Kalou play out wide and Scolari has favoured Deco out in this position too. With one holding midfielder (Mikel or Essien) this leave two other midfield positions, choose from - Lamps and Ballack with the option of Belletti or Deco in addition. We do have a replacement for Maka, Mikel has been top draw this season - I'd rather keep Mikel and wait a few years until he is an actual resemblance of Maka than spend £20m on someone who might be like Maka. There's only really ever going to be one Makelele though... I recently watched 'The Greatest Game' DVD which has the 90 full minutes of that 4-2 home win against Barca in the CL, kinda bought back a lot of good memories but also emphasised how poor we have been in comparison. Jose was something special and in comparison Scolari seems inadequete but we shouldn't be calling for his head just yet as we are still in a good position in the league etc. Give him a few more games, if we bring in some January signing then let's give Scolari some more time to show what he can do with his addition. If still no progress by the end of Jan/mid Feb then it'd be worthwhile sacking him this season so a new manager has at the least 1/4 of a season to adjust to the language, PL and the players. I'd say the new manager should be Frank Rijkaard - young, attacking football, won La Liga, won CL, used to working with top top players and getting the best out of them, has a lot of relations in European football, speaks English, has played Chelsea a few times so kinda has some knowledge on the club. Perfect choice imo, but let's give Scolari a little while longer.
  3. I was being sarcastic, just emphasising the point that Di Santo, Sinclair and Mancienne should have been given a decent amount of time to show what they can do.
  4. If Di Santo and Sinclair had been given a bash earlier on, we would have won. Getting pissed off with Big Phil...
  5. Good piece and on the whole I agree with most of your points bar the lack of Academy products coming through to the first 11. Although it may be just circumstance due to the PL allowing 7 substitutes rather than the previous 5, we do now see far more youngsters on the bench - which does do them good, even if they don't get a game. Di Santo has been given a handful of minutes this season and although he'll feel he hasn't made the most of these minutes, he has at least made his debut and got experience playing in front of 41,000 people - the same applies to Stoch. Think about the other top four, bar Arsenal, rarely do you see them start a young player or see them come of the bench any more frequently than ours do. Man United's fullback, (Rafeal?) has been given a few opportunities but only because of Neville's inadequences to run for anymore than 2 minutes and the fact the kid is a right fullback and United lack depth in that area - even here Rafeal doesn't start every game for United. Liverpool's N'Gog (sp?) gets around the same playing time as our Di Santo and both have preformed equally when given an opportunity, N'Gog, however, has only had his chances due to Keane's generally sh*t performances in red and Torres's injury whereas Di Santo has Anelka and Drogba ahead of him. I think when our youngsters reach 20, they should be pushing the first-teamers for a starting place and when Mancienne returns from his loan (probably at the end of the season) he should be given more opportunities. Scott Sinclair, I have concluded, is unlikely to make it at Chelsea - he seems an all pace with no quality type player and although Stoch and Kakuta seemingly have bundles of potential we can't expect them to be pushing our forwards for starting places just yet. I say give quite a few of them a game against Southend (Di Santo (if fit), Stoch, Kakuta, Sinclair) and continue playing them in the early round sof the cups until they reach an age where they can be expected to pressure our mult-million stars out of the way.
  6. I don't blame Anelka, though he should have put the ball onto VDS's weaker side, but meh. I don't blame JT either, he did his best and we didn't have anyone better at pens ahead of him. I shouldn't really blame Grant but either Lampard or Ballack should have taken the last kick with JT fourth, your best takers should go first and fifth imho.
  7. Carlo CANNOT go go to Spuds. Ok now that's out the way I think it's fair to say that signing another defender would be completely ridiculas and a watse of money. We need a striker to back up Drogba/Anelka or, more preferably, a winger. I personally can't see us signing anyone and that'll be Scolari's excuse when he fails to take us to any final or trophy.
  8. Yeah a lot of those gestures are for some sort of reason we don't really know about. I think Andy Johnson does a similar gesture, I think for some sort of charity, but it's been so long since he's scored I can't remember what he does! B) It's probably the same for Ronaldinho and his little finger thumb routine.
  9. Luigi Lazzoi, the new Franco? Ok, I'm getting ahead of myself...
  10. JT's celebrations are always awesome, just stands there (or lies there, if he's injured in the processes) and just roars!
  11. Nothing wrong with it, keeps the players out in the cold instead of being all snug up in the dressing rooms and not wanting to come back out for the second half. I like Phil Brown tbh.
  12. Lampard's vice captain so he'll have the armband but like loz said, he isn't that good at leading the team as it has shown in the numerous times JT has been out in the last 2 years. Ballack would be the obvious choice, but Lamps will have it.
  13. Perhaps, I questioned Chelsea's choice to pick Scolari when it was announced too - I would have prefered Hughes (though looking at him now, perhaps not) or Rijkaard (sp) but after Scolari's opening few months I was impressed and quickly changed my opinion of him. International management is definitely his speciality and it worries me that he keeps mentioning the fact that he's only here for two years and I wonder if the lure of going back to manage Brazil will be too tempting for him. For this reason and the fact he keeps giving Butch the media responsibilty I don't feel his heart is at the Bridge and the players are picking up on this - a motivational problem? Tbh, we haven't tweaked the formation or style of play all that much from the opening few months of Big Phil's reign, but ever since the draw at United, then the loss to Liverpool people have started to critise the manager and it seems to be having an effect on the players. Imo, the players we have at our disposal should be able to beat most teams whether it's a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, which is why I question Scolari's motivational abilities over his tactics. Clearly, though it shouldn't be, the manager has a crucial role in motivating the team. Think about how many times we would go in at half time 0-0 or 1-0 down and Jose would shake the team up and we'd come out second half and win by a 2 or 3 goal margin, this hasn't happened with Big Phil yet and he's had plentiful of opportunities.
  14. Recently its seemed a lack of motivation to win games has been our downfall. Who do you blame for that? It's the same players that won 2 PL titles under Jose and reached the CL final, and motivation and passion played a huge part in these successes? I personally can't see what's wrong with the formation and starting 11, though I would probably change it to: Cech Bos - Alex - Riccy - Cole Mikel Lamps Cole - Malouda Drog - Anelk But Scolari is wise enough to know better than we do whats best for his players and what formation will work the best, we aren't really qualified or experienced enough to think we know better than him on that part. However it does seem he needs to get a bit more passion in the team, get a it more motivation going and any team we pick should be able to beat the likes of Everton and West Ham. So who do you blame for the lack of motivation? Is it the players, or imo, Big Phil?
  15. Anyone got a link for Alex's stamp on Cahill? Apparently the FA are looking into it but I want to see if its any worse than Rooney's against Aalborg, which was let off.
  16. Tbh, I'm not embarassed to disagree with someone who has been around longer or got more posts. Sorry, didn't realise that sort of talk wasn't allowed on here after all we are all grown men who shout taboo every Saturday afternoon...
  17. B) No player is worth £60m alone, but the fact he is Mr Chelsea, he would be going to a PL rival, the fact he is our captain and his talent alone is worth £30m in this day and age and plus the fact City have had a huge influx of cash we would demand £60m+ (according, of course, to the tabloids).
  18. Wow, retard. People seem to jump on peoples back at the first moment they want success these days. What I am saying is that eventually in my life, I'm 17, Chelsea will be in dark times and be fighting relegation from numerous leagues - so what I'm saying, which I've reposted a good few times now, is that I want to make the most of this era and win the CL before we slip away from it. Sometimes I wish we would go back to the old 'sh*t' days, where tickets were cheaper, there was more passion in the stadium and a 1-1 draw with West Ham was just as pleasing for us as it is for the pikeys. I'm 17 and have been a fan since 1999, when I was taken to my first game at the age of 7, so I have been lucky enough to experience the good days with Chelsea but I am more than prepared to carry on the support when (and it is when and not if) we slide down the leagues/table. Sorry if you weren't implying that I only support Chelsea cause we have a chance at winning the CL, it makes my blood boil when I think people are thinking of me as a bandwagen rider.
  19. Fair enough, but my point is what if we don't have 8 or 9 years left at sustaining this level of success? What if we only have 2 or 3 years before we start losing out on CL places (for whatever reason) and in 10 years time we'll all be regretting these missed chances in the CL even more. We need to win the CL while we can, so firstly we can all tell our kids/grankids about what we were doing that day and secondly so Liverpool and United will stop rubbing it in our faces. I know it's a pessimistic point of view, but I think some of us are taking the success for granted, assuming it's going to be a long term thing now (which it might), but what if it isn't?
  20. I agree with BlueNut, it'd be much more worthwhile to have someone Chelsea related. What's he gonna bring to the club, other than his bird?
  21. They won't be able to play until January. Diarra and Huntlaaer will still play for their respected clubs until the 1st. Anyway, good luck to him - he's a top-notch player and deserves to be playing at the highest level. Selling him and Eidur were Jose's biggest mistakes.
  22. Do you wear anything 'special' to football matches? I've been wearing a replica shirt for years but I've grown out of my old ones and I refuse to spend £40 on the latest, so I was thinking of purchasing one of these: http://www.soccerprint.co.uk/football/chelsea.html What do you reckon?
