The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring Thread
For instance the backing up of Ferreiras lack of crossing ability with his stats for assists, yes you can say you were backing up your argument which is fine but the opposite argument for me would be just as strong if it said " Paulo was a great crosser but for some reason the strikers just never got in the right positions" or "the manager told him not to get forward" or "his boots were too big" its all opinions and statistics although you feel might back up your argument can not be expected to change the way people perceive things. The last part of your post is how it should be but the fun can be taken out of these debates as we have seen.

The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring Thread
Isn't that what I said to you in our first conversation? We know what our opinions of each other are and bravely putting it in type won't be any more impressive in a pm than it is out here, why don't you just stop being so agitating and get on with having an opinion that you can understand is not necessarily fact?

The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring Thread
I came on here because it interests me to find out why you have such a strange attitude, working out if you're an opposition fan on here for a wind up or just someone who likes to sit at a computer and cause arguments then merrily go through threads and threads (yeah I need to get a life) looking for stuff to quote that makes him feel as if hes proved something. Your pretty sad but that's no reason to start arguments with people you don't know and telling anyone not to clog up a thread that you've spoken on is almost an oxymoron.

The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring Thread
Its nice to come on and look at the debates wondering where all the bad feeling stems from and find its the same place as usual. I've had a reasonable conversation with you before and its never your opinions that bother me, just the nasty way you have of showing them...we're all Chelsea fans on here and the constant bad feeling you cause makes it a lesser place to come to. You think keep re posting and quoting statistics proves a point for you but most of the arguments are on nothing but opinions where a difinitive answer is impossible anyway, your constant niggling is like a gnat buzzing around the forum, nobody agrees with you when you slag off members that have been posting for years, nobody thinks DKW is a troll because you say so and I can't speak for everyone but personally I think you're on here every time to start an argument with someone, usually an argument that can have no black and white answer. I'm glad your happy to see me again, funny though as its people like you who in my opinion bring down the whole feel of the forum that drive good posters away.

The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring Thread
Mikels hair is a bit of an enigma to be fair...the Marmite of head topping it could be said, I'd compare it to that of Ferreira who although not likely to ever be hair of the match material, would always be seven out of ten. This thread reminds me of a wise quote from Dave Barry: "I can win an argument on any topic, against any opponent. People know this, and steer clear of me at parties. Often, as a sign of their great respect, they don't even invite me."

Mad Dogs Finale
Got around to watching the last episode and as expected it was a complete let down, it seems to have got less believable with ridiculous bbits slung in as if they just couldn't fill a full episode with anything relevant to the story. The men wearing rubber masks on the beach digging graves would have surely roasted in that heat and that certainly wasn't the most unrealistic part. Yep for me a good series that should have ended on series three or at least been thought about and written while tee total for the last one.

Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2013-14
I'd advise Arsenal fans to wait until they win something before getting carried away with how good their squad is, Southampton sat about six points behind untill a few games ago and it all went tits up, anything can happen and you have to remember that while you're lot have surprised everyone with the consistency they've showed up to now, City, UTD and ourselves have surprised everyone with their lack of consistency and two of those teams are ominously close to you in your best half a season for years.

MOTM vs. Derby (A) (FAC)
Easily Oscar, he got a bit of a roughing up today and took it as if he enjoyed it, great player and so important to the way we play.

Derby County vs Chelsea (FA Cup) 5/1/14 KO: 14:15 GMT
The thing is with Be Bruyne, Jose must feel he's not ready yet and that he hasn't shown enough in the chances hes had to be put ahead of the options. For me its a real shame for Kevin and I really think he has a bright future, that said, on what I've seen and if I was manager I certainly wouldn't want to halt our progress by leaving the likes of Oscar, Hazard, Willian or Mata out to give him time when all of these players have to learn to play together and get decent partnerships going. I hope he gos on loan and comes back in a year a better player, he was great pre season and suffers from what a lot of our players have in that he tries too much when he gets a chance to impress which sometimes works against him. We certainly have good players for the position he would want to play and although I think in a couple of years he will be top quality, they are nearer that at the moment. His ambitions with his national team mean he would be better off elsewhere.

Cech or Courtois?
When you look at how confident we feel when Shwarzer is between the sticks it really makes you wonder why at Cechs age being a far better keeper than Mark ever was people worry he's getting too old. I think he could play at the highest level for a good five more years injury and fitness permitting, would love him to finish his career here as a veteran back up keeper like Shwarzer.

Eusebio has gone to the celestial pitch
It really brings it home to you when the greats depart us, he was brilliant and another of the names we used to shout when we were kids. RIP to a great footballer and man.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
I took it as the signings must be "clinical" as in the perfect ones that will be the pieces that bring everything together, not the the actual players must be "clinical". Still probably not the right words but thats the way I looked at it.

MOTM vs Southampton (A) (PL)
Really good game for Oscar and Willian, both showed why Jose rates them and have shown it so often that they were pretty obvious subs. I think I'll stick with Hazard though just about.

Southampton v Chelsea (PL) 1/1/14 KO 15:00 GMT
we need someone to help break up the play as they keep finding a bit of rhythm, Willian or Oscar do that while not sacrificing any forward threat. Surprised niether one started today as one of the two really gives us a more solid feel for me.

Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2013-14
I'm not putting down what Wenger has achieved being as this season is the first he's had a go at spending big, what I do think is that Newcastle looked the better team on the day and I wondered how our new opposition fan/friend felt the game went and if he either thought (through his red specs) that Arsenal deserved the win or whinged like many here do when we win without looking brilliant. just curious really as every gooner I know thinks they win every game with great aplomb, nice to believe in your team I suppose but bump and down with to earth are words I would suggest might (in some order) be fitting come the end of the season.

Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2013-14
Funny redandwhite seeing you on here talking about what we need to do to win games...I'd be interested to know how you feel when Arsenal win games without looking great or even undeservedly, for instance a lot of our fans on here when we beat Palace 2-1 in a tight game seemed almost suicidal, how did you feel the other day when you were (imo) lucky to beat Newcastle? do you think that sort of performance makes you look like title contenders? Its interesting to see an outsiders view and compare it to how they look at their own results, are you wearing red tinted glasses or do you like some here over expect and think every game should be a walkover?

Mad Dogs Finale
I'll let you know as I just downloaded it and the first three series, my mate who's doing the Car thing with PG hasn't seen any of it so I said I'd get them for him. Not looking forward to it now as I had the feeling it was going to be a let down from the first part, agree about Alvo, maybe if he'd have been kidnapped or something and made an appearance late on it would have given it more longevity. Whats with the little Voodoo bloke as well? Maybe I'll find out when I watch the last one.

Mad Dogs Finale
I really liked the first two and only watched the first of the finale and missed the second, it seemed to have gone downhill a bit but I'm going to download the second one before I make my mind up. Really did like it for some reason and as you say, the banter between the four of them was really believable, My mates doing a tv thing on fast cars with Philip Glenister and says hes a good bloke, I quite liked him in that other thing, ashes to ashes or something Bowie related.

Half-term report
Good summary Davey and one I'd have made even earlier, I've never really doubted Jose was getting a gradual response from players and learning more about them as we stuttered while getting inside their heads to build the confidence any team would need going one down to a good side in three minutes. I still don't know if it will lead to any silverware this season and for me that makes little difference as I feel much easier knowing we're on the right track. This season looks one of the toughest premier seasons ever and if we did happen to outstay City I think the word Special will need Jose's face beside it in the dictionary. So happy to see a gradual change in attitude in the squad and although we all love flair players, its great to see the boys working their nuts off for the manager, who'd have thought Hazard could be so effective going forward and equally great at tracking back? and Willian after looking an unnecessary signing is now a really important player. Well happy so far and one or two signings (if they are the right ones) would make us equal squad wise with city, the manager would tip the scales in our favour.

David Luiz Appreciation Thread
I much prefer Cahill at CB and had doubts about Luiz in midfield thinking he'd be ok against lesser opposition, today though he added something and for his first run out in that position for a while looked promising and if we don't strengthen there in January could be a real option.
