Hiddink will not take up the managers job at chelsea. At best he will continue with russia until 2010 and act as director of football at chelsea similtaneous to this. After world cup he will retire from management but will remain at chelsea as director of football for another 2-3 years.

If united had of lost yesterday then we were right back in it but now i'm not sure. If Utd win their game in hand they'll be 7 points ahead of us. They still have some tricky games though

We should return to our transfer policy which we had when jose first came to the club by buying players with a point to prove who are hungry to win trophies. Essien, Drogba, Robben, Duff, Cech all had talent but they did not have huge reputations or egos when they arrived and were all relatively un heard of on the global stage. Players like Carvalho and Ferrera even though they had just won the champions league were relatively un known. All our recent success came under these sort of transfers. All of our big reputation signings (with the exception of ashley cole) who have won top honours in other countries have all flattered to decieve : Deco, Ballack, Sheva, Malouda etc. When was the last time our scouting system unearthed a gem. Di Santo maybe but as of yet is unproven. We should focus on players like Ashley Young, Yuri Zhirkov, Marek Hamsik, Daniel Sturridge, Edin Dserko, Vagner Love, even Quaresma who all have a point to prove at the highest level. At present we have to many egos who believe they are above sitting on the bench and are automatically guarenteed a place in the side like Ballack and Drogba. Fair enough Drogba is our best striker but he always has to be the centre of attention.

Although Drogba is a quality player if he is to remain he can only be considered a squad player as he is plagued by injuries. We need someone dependable that will score 20 goals a season and do it in the big games as its clear we can't depend on anelka

With RVP being linked with a move away would people like to see him in a blue shirt. Swap deal including Kalou could be on th cards.

He has potential. Him along with sturridge and players like di santo mancienne stoch kakuta would give us a bright future.

Maicon would be an excellent signing as Bosingwa can play wide right as his defending is a bit suspect. Ivanovic is not a right back and offers little going forward. I think we should loan out Ivanovic rather than sell him as he's a quality centre half and it's clear he's keen for first team football. Far superior to alex

i would play j. cole where deco was playing at the start of the season. he can pull the strings in midfield and find a pass. remember dat pass away to valencia last season which put drogba in. forget silva j. cole is far better

he should come on the cheap seen as real madrid did not pay big money for him last summer and he hasn't set the world alight. Marek Hamsik should be considered as a replacement for ballack/deco.

any game he has played he's done well. I just feel guus is reluctant to use him week in week out seen as he's cup tied for champions league and thats our main goal now

VDV would be an ideal replacement for deco while essiens return will act as a replacement for ballack. Quaresma is well worth his place in the squad. You have to bear in mind that he's not 100% fit. He gives us something different.
