Said i'd revive this seen as he's having a fantastic world cup and we've been linked with a number of holding players as of late. Very similiar to Essien. May be worth taking a look at.

The guy who replaced him tonight Javier Pastore (more of a midfielder than a forward) looked very lively. I've seen him play for Palermo a few times and he looks like an excellent prospect and he's still only 19. Very similiar to David Silva who we've been linked to recently. Would be far better buy than Benayoun and would cost similiar money.

Theres nothin wrong with the diamond formation if you have the right players to play it. We suffered with it last season because we didn't have a silva type player to play at the tip of it. If we had this type of player there is nothin to say we couldn't win the 'treble' using the diamond formation although it does slightly hinder lampard ghosting into the box. I think the diamond formation may be more suited to plying in Europe where Drogba is often isolated up front on his own.

Sign Aguero, Schweinsteiger, Ozil and if bosingwa is used as part of a deal to sign Schweinsteiger i'd bring in Srna who can play in a no. of positions. All these players are adaptable to play in our 433 formation or our 442 diamond.

Franco di santo could become a far better player if we stick with him.

Whats the story with our pre-season plans? I know we lined up a couple of local friendlies but haven't heard of any tour or anything.

The way i see it is there is a very good chance of signing kaka if we want him without parting with any of our best players. He is clearly unhappy in Madrid and i think they are unhappy with him aswell. These swap conspiracy theories are just tabloid rubbish putting two and two together.

Srna is more of RM who can play RB rather than a RB who can play RM for all the world a right footed Zhirkov. If Srna comes in it will be to play on the right side of the front 3 but he can also play in the midfield 3 or at RB. His versatility will b a great addition to the squad. I also think Zhirkov will be more important this season on the left of the front 3 as malouda can slot back into midfield. He is too good a player to just use as back up to ashley and is far superior to kalou.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i think Mikel must have a few assists this season aswell as improving his discipline.

Its better for us that he's not going to rush back for the world cup after being ruled out. He now has all the time he needs to get his knee right and be 100% for next season.

Even if atletico wanted to sell him before the world cup i doubt there would be time as he is currently in Argentina with the Argentina squad and will be travelling from there straight to South Africa. I still think we have a very good chance of signing him as aside from Merida they signed the next Aguero in january another young argentine by the name of Salvio.

to be honestt i don't see why ashley would want to play under Mourinho where his fantastic attacking ability will be restricted as it was in his early chelsea days. Ashley has really blossomed under the freedom given to him under Carlo..

Atleticos last game of the season is tonight in the copa del rey finam against seville so if its a thing we're going to sign him before the world cup it should be wrapped up soon if not this rumour could drag on all summer as it did last year

Burnley away was very important. Our season looked as if it was on the verge of imploding with the JT affair but he stepped up to the plate with a late winner. Stoke away comes to mind aswell with malouda stealing 3 points in stoppage time.. Games we were expected to win easily but had to dig out the 3 points.

Hauled off this evening after 65min with madrid struggling in a 2-2 draw. A game they need to win to stand any chance of winning the title. Has been majorly disappointing so far this season. Would be a fantastic signing but only for significantly less than they pid for him last summer.

I've read in a few places that we may be interested in signing him. He's a young midfielder who plays for Athletic Bilbao but thats as far as my knowledge of him goes.......

I no Stoch is doing well but I haven't heard anything of Rajkovic the young serbian defender who we also sent to twente on loan. Has he made any impact?
