Liverpool bid for Luke Young
Isn't Degen, their current back-up right back on the way out? Bit of an improvement over Degen in my eyes.

FAO PC Nerds
According to the stats I looked up, they don't have a L3 cache... well, they probably do but it'd be negligible. The AMD site says theirs has 512K per core on L2, and the pentium site says theirs has 1mb total L2 cache. You're right on the overclocking of AMDs though, with the exception of the D0 stepping range of i cores, that is. I heard someone tell me a rumour that with the AMD dual and tri cores, are quad cores, where other cores either broke, or were disabled, and if they were disabled you can reactivate them, and end up with a tri or quad core for half the price. I'm not sure if it's true, but it sounds like something AMD would do. However, I think these will be in a laptop, am I right mod? Overclocking in a laptop might not end all that well, as my laptops tend to get quite toasty as it is. If I gave overclocking a go, I'd probably explode something or start a fire. :D

In fact, here's a benchmark comparison for you. AMD XII P320 Pentium T4400 Personally, I'd go for the Pentium, there.

Interesting.... My sources say that both have a 1mb L2 cache, and the clock speed is slower on the AMD (by only 100Mhz now, mind), and I personally think the stuff about AMD running faster than it's stated clock speed is greatly exaggerated. Could just be my experience mind. Basically, they're the same. One thing which might make a difference is the power consumption, the AMD uses 25 W, and the intel uses 35 W, although it does have speedstep which will make it use less, when you're not using all the power of the processor.

Edin Dzeko
Well... I'd certainly disagree with whoever made that comparison....

Edin Dzeko
I see Dzeko as being good, not great. I'm definitely against signing someone to replace Drogba just because he plays in a similar way to Drogba. The way I see it, if we're going to sign someone, who will eventually take Drogba's place up front, we shouldn't be focussed on signing someone who plays like him. OK, I have just repeated myself there, so I'll try and elaborate a bit. Look at Man Utd for example... when they sold Nistelrooy, they didn't replace him with a Nistelrooy-esque striker, they got Rooney and changed their system a bit. The same can be said of Beckham, when they replaced him with Ronaldo, two completely different players. We should be looking for someone who is as good, or better... not necessarily the same type of player.

Neymar
Surely a player will more easily adjust to a physical league when he's younger, than when he isn't. Their bodies are young enough to still bulk up, and not lose too much agility from it. It's a risk, but it's the kind of risk we shouldn't be afraid of taking. As has been pointed out before, players like Pato have to go through this transfer and if we don't take this risk, we'd end up having to pay £50-£60m on them... for that price we could take a risk on 2 or 3 players like Neymar (assuming of course that there are that many of this calibre).

I believe Bertrand did against Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Liverpool sign Joe Cole
It's their year you know.

Liverpool sign Joe Cole
I'm surprised at the amount of bitterness shown here... I for one don't mind that he's gone to Liverpool. He turned us down because he wanted more money than he deserved, and nded up with less than even we were offering. That's no the point, though, he was stagnating with us and needed a move to freshen things up, both for him and for us. He was never likely to go abroad, and every side at the top is a rival of ours. It's sad, but it was always going to happen when he was released.

Bruma to Wolfsburg on loan
I'm sure they'd put that in the terms of the loan?

Bruma to Wolfsburg on loan
I disagree. I think Stoch really improved at Twente. Unfortunately he got itchy for first team football, but the point is he improved, and we got a good fee for him, too. I think Bruma might be more willing to bide his time on the bench, on returning, but that's purely speculation as we can never be sure. I think a year on loan for Bruma to mature would be great, especially at as good a club as Wolfsburg, so long as he gets the first team games that is. I think a lot of the problems we've had with players going on loan and not progressing, are more to do with the quality of the player themselves than actually sending them out on loan as a concept. For a defender especially, first team experience is vital, and thus sending them on loan is a good move. For more attacking players it's less important, so they can be blooded in straight away. Kakuta might be an example of that approach. JT went on loan as a younger man, so did A Cole (it's not just a Chelsea thing) and Rio Ferdinand. However you don't see the same approach for say Messi (not that he's the standard), or if you want, Giggs didn't go on loan either. I'm not saying that we should do exactly as was done on other big name players, as each player is different in what they need, but sending Bruma on loan is for my money a better move than sending out Stoch on loan, and I'd still class Stoch as a success.

What the hell is an Elite squad?
I made myself "El Presidente Tecnico" at work. The bosses weren't amused when I got them to refer to me as such.... I was, though. "El Presidente there is a problem with my laptop." It just sounds like I should turn up with a cape and a zorro mask, when I fix their computers. I might pick a new title this week, not sure what I should be.

Bruma to Wolfsburg on loan
This could be another good move for both parties, if it works out. It could be perfect in fact. Terry and Alex as our main centre backs for this season, with Carvalho rotated, then next year, Carvalho leaves, and we'll have ourselves a proven top quality defender to come in and take his place in the squad. I'm all for this, unless Carvalho is leaving... then I'd say we're a bit short at the back, but if he stays, and Bruma goes on loan, we could have ourselves a nice little plan, and a nice little arrangement with McClaren it seems, too. If he keeps getting decent jobs across Europe and keeps loaning a youngster from us in a mutually beneficial way, it could be quite interesting.

Kakuta sets up winner for u19 France
Try 19, but the point does still stand. I think he's even made his Champions League debut, too. Oh well.

Chelsea Pre-Season
Cheers! I stupidly slept in late... very, very late. Looked quite good there. I'd like to see McEchran come on in a couple of games this season, it could be the making of him.

Cup replays to be scrapped?
I'm fine with it. It'll reduce the already congested fixture schedule, and at the end of the day, it doesn't make the competition what it is. What makes the competition what it is, is that any team can beat any other team, and that's something that's ingrained into the spirit of the entire country. Rooting for the underdog and it going down to the wire will still happen, it's just more likely to end on penalties than otherwise.

WE SHOULD SIGN
There is, it's just too well hidden for the likes of us. :D
-
WE SHOULD SIGN
I agree, and what's more is that we haven't signed anyone yet, we're clearly going to fail this season and be relegated to the ryman league with such old players.

New Chelsea TV Online – Live friendlies
I was about to ask if it supported Linux, but if it's flash, it's all cool like a fool in a swimming pool... although I'm a little disappointed, I was hoping to have a bit of a challenge on my hands.

Bran on the right, Yuri of the left
I think Ivanovic would be an interesting option for in the centre of midfield, or holding midfield. Just throwing it out there.
