Get Rage Against the Machine Christmas No.1.
I think he's mistaken. Only downloads are taken into account for the live chart thing, the one with who's where right now, but I'm fairly sure that CD sales are taken into account on the actual chart.

I miss the 70's
I think this is better... although I'm liking your style quite massively, Plok... especially after your post in the RATM thread.

Get Rage Against the Machine Christmas No.1.
I know you're not forcing me into anything, but you're suggesting that there are only 2 options, but anyway, I was just doing some washing up and thought of the perfect analogy to express my opinion on this more fully. Let's say that there is say 95% VAT on flags, that sounds ridiculous, I know, but it's needed for this to work. Right, so now imagine that every time Britain invades a country, like Afghanistan or Iraq, lots of old biddies, with not much to do, spend some of their money on British flags to show their support for the country, no matter what their actions are like. If they're in the right or not. There's lots of them as well, so it's the item which sells the most every single time. So when Britain invades Afghanistan the people who don't agree with the invasion set up a campaign for people to show their disillusion with the war. They say that everyone should buy a flag of Afghanistan despite 95% of the money going to the people who decided to invade Afghanistan in the first place, but that doesn't matter as it's showing their disillusionment. So then Britain invade Iraq and this time everyone has forgotten about the last campaign which failed so miserably and decide to do exactly the same thing, but of course buying a flag of Iraq. Even though the campaign inevitably fails, and even though 95% of the money goes to the people who started the war they are opposed to, and hey, anyone who doesn't think it's a good idea is obviously in support of the war. I think that's pretty much got my stance on the whole thing. I know that probably makes me seem a bit mental, but you know... maybe it's my new medication.

No, you're saying that there are 2 choices and they are Sony or Sony. You're not validating the option of not watching X Factor, not buying either song, or maybe even not getting sucked into a pointless campaign which has probably been set up by Sony themselves. It's like all these adverts saying how much you can save if you buy such and such a product. You'd save even more money if you bought neither, but apparently that isn't an option worth considering, right? ;) You see, you've just repeated what I'm pointing out as ridiculous at the end there. You think that you have to buy either a Sony song or a Sony song. Fantastic. My curtains are closed just so you know, I'm not going to buy either, because I find the campaign slightly retarded. I came into the thread to point this out and voice my opinion on the matter... if only there was a public space where opinions are voiced... a forum perhaps.

That implies the only choice is to buy one or the other. Also, I'm the only one who has moaned so far, so you can't believe there's one person against it?

Yes, two fingers up at Simon Cowell despite both being part of Sony records. I honestly think it's a bit pointless to say the least. If it was a completely unheard of, minor label it would be a brilliant idea, but giving more to Sony? What's the point?

Dominic West
I heard that when he's not in character and speaks in his normal English accent, it's really similar to his AWFUL mockney accent in The Wire.

Now we know
- Diamonds Are Forever?
I always look out for our posts, and this is the perfect example of why. Some great points in there and without trying to patronise someone who clearly is a writer, it's fantastically well written. I only wish I could write something even close to that level of quality. Anyway, enough of the sucking up, I've got some thoughts of my own on the subject. To my mind, the Christmas tree would have the same problems as the diamond, although I'm sure you considered that. The Christmas tree has a similar set up to the 4-3-3/4-5-1, except the wingers are pushed into the centre. Surely this wouldn't reduce crowding in the centre, but rather increase it? There'd now be two attacking mid-fielders where there is only one in the diamond. That'd surely make it harder for him to make his runs? I think that keeping the current diamond is the better option, and really we just need to give Frank one or two more months to see if he can settle into it. The dovetailing with the player at the tip is something he's never had to do before, and after having spent many years playing a very similar role, week in, week out, it might take him even more time to adjust to it. Even if he doesn't quite adjust to it, I'd still rather stick to it and as you put it, have more diamonds shining.- Luis Suarez
I'm still not convinced by Suarez, and I guess I never will be until he proves himself in a top league. There have been quite a few successes coming from the Dutch league, but for every Nistelrooy, Ibrahimovich and Robben, there's an Afonso Alves, a Hamdaoui or a Kezman.... or a Robben. It'd be a big risk signing him before the transfer ban. If he flops, we can't sign someone else for a year or so (assuming the worst and that our appeal fails of course), so we'd have to keep him. I know it sounds a bit doom and gloom saying that, but I'm always wary of it. Besides which, he'd be playing up front for us, which is where most of us would like to sign Aguero, or Pato. With Studge, Borini and Di Santo looking to break through in the coming couple of years. I'd say four strikers is ideal, but Suarez as well? Of course it could mean that we'd have a contingency in case one of the three youngsters didn't make it, but really it'd be an either or situation, with it being either Suarez, Pato or Aguero, and I'd much rather have one of the last two in that list. Obviously finances do come into play, Suarez would be the cheapest option by far, but is it really worth risking our future? That sounds a bit drastic, but we have to consider the quality of player we're having to replace (assuming we're buying for the future), Drogba and Anelka, I'd say have possibly one or two seasons at the top level left after this year. This gives Studge, Borini and Di Santo time to reach that level, which is perfect, but we'll need someone more experienced to act as a bridge between the age groups, so we don't do an Arsenal. Whoever we sign would be our main striker in this period, so Suarez would be our main striker and is he really good enough to do that in a team challenging for the title, and indeed on four fronts. Personally I'd say that he isn't and won't improve much beyond his level, and that Aguero/Pato already are good enough and both can still improve (Pato a bit more than Aguero). So the striker position is the area where we need to get the best we can. Whoever we sign, is hopefully going to be our main striker for years to come and really, we're going to have 4 strikers at that point. Only one of them will cost us much, so why not push the boat out and get Aguero, or Pato? I know I'm just rambling on again, but you know how it is, you start typing and other things happen, so you get distracted and repeat yourself and sound like you're pissed, confused, or both.... probably both, and then you repeat yourself and sound like you're pissed, confused, or both.... probably both, and then you repeat yourself...- Chelsea vs Apoel Nicosia (CL) 08/12/09, 1945 KO
Ah, I got it a little bit off, but I wasn't far off. The rule is that you can add players to the B list up to 24 hours before the game. You can also, have an unlimited number of players on there, however they must have been born after 1988 and been registered with the club for a minimum of 2 continuous years, which rules Matic out.- Chelsea vs Apoel Nicosia (CL) 08/12/09, 1945 KO
I'm fairly sure that you can include players who aren't registered as long as they're 21 years of age or under... might be 18, but yeah. So Borini could play, I think that also means Matic could play as well. I seem to remember reading that in the official UEFA rules, I'll see if I can dig it out to check though.- Hello from the US
I think you massively miss understand what is happening in your country then. MediCare is being expanded to help out the lower middle classes in your country who don't have medical insurance. At the moment, I believe the impoverished, the elderly and veterans, receive MediCare, right? With the veterans receiving a slightly better version, under a different name, thinking on it. There are still however lots of people in your country without medical insurance, and not just that, insurance companies can refuse to pay at even the slightest hint that it may have been pre-existing or caused by a pre-existing condition. MediCare is being expanded to help cover those who can't afford the insurance, that's all. You aren't getting a national health service, you're getting an expanded MediCare to cover those who wouldn't normally qualify. What about the horror stories from your own country? People with no medical insurance, who can't afford treatments? How long do they have to wait for their tests, do you think? Also, dental care isn't particularly bad in this country. It's just a stereotype which Americans seem to have, and if there is any truth in it, it's mainly down to the fact that we don't have fluoride in the water.- World Cup 2010 South Africa

I'm half Ukrainian, I'd like to think it's my penis.- Romelu Lukaku
Like when Messi was touted as the new Maradonna? Perhaps when Aguero was touted for the same thing? Or Pato the new Ronaldo? ;)- Chance of getting Pato?
You don't think Aguero can? Aguero can play on the wings, as a second striker, at the tip of the diamond as well. Pato is very good as a striker, and possibly a better out and out striker than Aguero, however Aguero has a bit more grit and hard work about him and is far better at making chances for others.- Romelu Lukaku
I somehow think that Drogba is one of those players who can't be replaced. Now, I'm not saying once he finally drops off the top level, or retires, we won't be able to win games or anything like that. I just think that we'll never find a player exactly like him, with all of his qualities (good and bad). Looking for an identical replacement is the wrong way to go about it. Players will leave, get old, retire and no longer be able to put in the top performances. Replacing Zola for example, there is no one in the squad who's exactly the same as Zola and no one ever could be. Since then we've changed the style of the squad, the style of play and everything. This is why I see Aguero as the replacement for Drogba. They create in different ways, but both create and score, and both have the potential to be just as brilliant on their day. I have no idea where I'm going with this. Don't post after you've had a few drinks, and especially not when you're watching The Wire at the same time. Damned attention span.- Hello from the US
I'd agree with that, but Bush was deluded and stupid. He went to war because he heard god tell him to... If I were to punch someone and claim that god told me to, I'd be locked up. He went to f**king war on that basis, which I'm sure you'll agree is a little worse. Didn't he also bring in that reverend dude who made water-boarding legal? Also, what is the problem with expanding Medicare? It's really quite strange that helping those in need is considered a bad thing in America. Some of the comments which came out at the height of the whole healthcare debate thing (I say debate quite wrongly), were quite ridiculous. Especially about how Obama is planning to kill off the old people, and how Prof. Stephen Hawking would have been killed if the NHS had it's way. I occasionally used to watch Fox News for a laugh btw. On the night Obama was elected it was one of the funniest things I'd ever seen. I have a strangely high level of interest in American politics.- Arsenal vs Chelsea (Premiership) 29/11/09, 1600 KO
Deco on for Cole, I'm assuming because Ancelotti wants to try and keep possession more, and Cole is probably tired. Deco can just play simple passes if asked to, Cole tends to want to try tricks more often and is harder to curb in that respect. Edit - Just so you know, that's what I think the idea is, I wasn't saying it was going to work! :)- Chelsea Want 40m Plus Adriano For Drogba
