  1. Thanks for clearing that up. Apologies for the confusion. And here's me thinking we were talking about Modric in a thread... about Modric!
  2. It's not a case of Abramovich's interest, it's more Levy's reluctance to sell. We may be interested and make the highest bid, but Levy being his spiteful self, won't sell to us for anything less than daylight robbery. If Roman's sensible he stay clear from Modric though, as the only way we'll acquire his services is paying massively over the odds. How so? He made his interest in joining us clear last summer.
  3. This looks very good on all accounts and I've just been paid. Hmm.
  4. Surely Klose has to be worth a punt? For an outsider: Shirokov of Poland. 479/1.

Given the fact that Hulk's a wide player and Dembelé isn't, I doubt we'll be loaded in "that" position.
  6. If he's so unhappy at his lack of inclusion thus far, he needs to jog on and try to ply his trade elsewhere. There's no way that he'd be the leading striker in any top European club at such a tender age. If he came to Chelsea expecting to start regularly, then it just shows how naive he was upon making the move to London. It won't be another year or two until he starts to feature on a frequent basis. If he can't get his head around those logistics, then he's as good as gone anyway.

His distribution of the ball and ability to retain possession in the tightest of spaces continues to surprise me. He's very underrated and has been one of the unsung heroes this season. His resurgence under Di Matteo is almost unbelievable - speaking of which, Mikel's been quoted as saying that he's glad Di Matteo came in as he gave him the belief in his own ability. All the other managers pre-Di Matteo must have thought him to be as useless as Kalou...
  8. Boycotting the voting system for this one as it really is impossible to single out one player as being the Man of the Match in Munich. Drogba got the official accolade, and deservedly so, but there were so many other worthy candidates. Petr Cech was phenomenal. He needed to be on top form and that he most definitely was. Ashley Cole put in another captain-like display and could have easily been mistaken for a brick wall. He did fantastically well to counter Robben's pace and neutralise the threat Bayern have on their right wing. Gary Cahill was the epitome of fighting spirit. It was very refreshing to see a young centre-half put his body on the line so frequently for the team. Reminiscent of John Terry, only quicker and more composed! Mikel was calmness personified in front of the back four. So many times was he under heavy pressure and his distribution and ball retention was faultless. One of the best games I've seen him have in a Chelsea shirt. Lampard - captain on the night - put in a shift and was the driving force of the midfield. Lastly, Didier Drogba. Isolated for the most part, came to life given half a chance. Did very well considering he was left void of support for the majority of the game. Scored the equaliser and the winning penalty. Each of the aforementioned would be worthy contenders, but like I've said, it's impossible to choose but one. They're all Champions of Europe, none of them ought to be singled out for being "the best" on the night. It was a great team effort and that's what made the victory that bit sweeter. Pride of London.
  9. I'd take him in an instant. Anyone who's doubting Modric's footballing ability is either clueless or somewhat delusional. He's a great player that could be moulded in whichever way the manager pleases. We need more attack-minded midfielders within our ranks, and he would definitely fit that particular bill. His price-tag would be a concern, though. I wouldn't be willing to pay over £30m for him as I believe there are other potential targets in the current market that would be cheaper. We need to buy astutely, not stupidly. To conclude, it'd be great if we could prize him away from Spurs with minimal fuss and for a lower asking price than last season. The likelihood of this happening is very slim though, especially the lower asking price. 'Arry and Spurs will be wanting £45m+ for the Croat and, quite frankly, he's not worth the trouble. Any doubters of Modric's ability are still evidently blind, mind you...
  10. Mountains out of molehills springs to mind. Seriously, mate, why consider something so petulant when we've just been crowned Champions of Europe? Just enjoy the moment and stop being such a pessimist.
  11. Football is all about mind games. If you're not mentally strong enough to overcome these, then you need to be on the lookout for an alternative profession.
  12. Nor do I, but that's what we're going to have to offer him if we're wanting his acquisition. Personally, I'd rather look for a cheaper alternative, or spend some pennies on Luka Modric...
  13. No-brainer. Of course we are! Making history. Not just reliving it.
  14. Does Bosingwa's monobrow really have to be the focus of the banner, the ugly bar steward?
  15. José, I love you, but please f**k off.* *This is said with the kindest intentions.
  16. I wasn't far off a nervous breakdown when Robben stepped up for that penalty. My heart was in my mouth, and when he missed... wow... euphoric shivers flooded my veins! Once a blue, always a blue, eh, Arjen? Cheers, buddy. Hope the lads are celebrating in style tonight - they deserve it. Fingers crossed Roman is still aware of the glaringly obvious lack of talent embedded within the playing ranks. Passion and hunger can only get you so far, and we've now reached the peak. Without investment this summer, the only place we can go is down, unfortunately. Don't forget to spend all those millions of yours, Mr. Abramovich! For the time being, though, enjoy yourself and party hard, as I'm sure the rest of us will all be doing for the rest of the weekend/weeks to come. London is blue.
  17. Bow out in style, Didier. Literally. The perfect send-off.
  18. The fat lady's not singing just yet.
  19. I concur with this entirely. I'm hoping they go on to prove me wrong, but I don't feel they'll be able to compensate one another as a front pairing. Anelka paired alongside either of the two would be a more viable option.
  20. I like that one too, g-b. However, unlike you, I'm a fan of the third kit. Very nice.

This film definitely deserves its own, separate topic. It's a film I can't seem to relate to any other; one that had my brain rattling all the way through, which I found made the film much more enjoyable. Quite an amazing topic to base a film around, and the concept of 'inception' itself is confusing, never mind trying to base a film around it, and then to go deeper; to dissect different dream states and then go further in to them. Everything about the film is just breath-taking; from the initial concept of the plot, to all of the special effects done throughout. I think it's quite possibly the best film I've ever seen.
  22. Cheers, Andy. A month today I'll be turning eighteen... Just wait until I hit the beach in Magaluf with the leopard-print g-string!
  23. No way in hell will they do a guard of honour for us. We'd be lucky to get one at the end of a season, never mind at the start of a new one for achievements recorded last term.
