chelseafc1905 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) WHO OF THESE PLAYERS DO YOU THINK WILL BE THE TOP SCORER IN THE EURO 2012? My suggestions: 1.FERNANDO TORRES 2. DAVID VILLA 3.CRISTIANO RONALDO 4. MARIO GOMEZ 5.KARIM BENZEMA 6.ROBIN VAN PERSIE 7.MARIO BALOTELLI 8.WAYNE ROONEY Edited June 1, 2012 by Mod Moved for the second time, The General Forum says General Chelsea topics. This is International.
Amputechture Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I thought David Villa was ruled out of the Euros
Blueregard Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Seeing as Rooney will only play one game. I don't see how he can become top scorer.
Remodez Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Would be surprised if it was Van Persie. The players seem to almost always ignore his movements in behind defences that players at Arsenal always spot with ease and there are times were he doesn't even get a touch of the ball without having to drop deep. That combined with the fact that's he actually not that clinical (I know he's scored a lot this season but he could easily have double his total if he was more clinical, not that Arsenal fans are complaining mind you). Huntelaar would get my backing, depsite the fact that he's not grantueed a starting role.
Ozztheboss Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Think Gomez will take it, he will probably score 90% of his goals in the group stage. He has absolutely no spine to deal with pressure in big matches, and I will think that Löw maybe will prefer Klose in the latter stages of the tournament.
BaneIvanovic Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Lewandowski/Kerzakhov but from the favourite sides, Torres. Gomez won't start for Germany, RvP will probably play outwide because Huntelaar is the better striker for the Dutch National Team.
Ruh Buh Juh Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 WHY IS THE ORIGINAL POSTER SHOUTING I think Van Persie could be in with a shout.
bluedave Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) I put a tenner on Gomez (before watching the Champions League final) so it definitely will not be him. Edited June 2, 2012 by bluedave
Maksimov Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I doubt it will be an Italian. It will be from one of the more free scoring teams: Dutch, Spain, Germany.
chelseabootboy Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Klaas Jan Huntelaar will bang in a few i also fancy the dutch to win it.
Greg Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Surely Klose has to be worth a punt? For an outsider: Shirokov of Poland. 479/1.
CacOBG Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 (edited) I will go with Benzema. Rooney doesn't have a chance. Lack of creativity in England's squad and he's banned for 2 games. RVP can share playing time with Klaas who had a great season although latest reports suggest RVP is option 1. If that doesn't work though, Klaas will be used. Torres is not proliphic enough and he might not even be choice No. 1 with Llorente present. Germany's forward is anyone's guess with Klose, Podolski and Gomez all pushing for the spot. Balotelli has a chance, but I wouldn't bet on Italy after seeing them against Russia. Kerzhakov has a chance. He is your typical golascorer, their group is relatively easy. He might have a chance as odd as that sounds. Cristino should bang in some goals but I can't see him going beyond group stages so that elimanes him. Yep, it's between Benzema and Kerzhakov for me, with Benzema first option. RVP is my third choice. Here are the odds for reference: http://www.oddscheck.../top-goalscorer Gomez seems to be the favorite with RVP close behind but as the odds suggest it is anyone's guess really! 17 on Benzema is actually quite a decent risk-reward ratio. I might take advantage. Edited June 3, 2012 by CacOBG
