Lofty's Wall of Sound - What are you listening to?
Mikstaw...have you borrowed my ipod? I just looked at your last two posts in this thread, I have played both of those in the last couple days. :)

Need a new song for Torres
Here's another one.

Scouse reaction
I hadn't read them until you posted the link, but, I am now intrigued, has anyone got any idea as to what the "values" referred to below are and why they would be different to any other club???? "Torres talked about how much it meant to him to be a Liverpool player. He seemed to embrace Liverpool's values but now we know he didn't mean it. It wasn't real and I'm sure he'll be saying the same things about playing for Chelsea."

Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 6/2/2011 KO 16:00 GMT
I like this formation best. I think this was very deliberate positioning by Ancelotti regarding Anelka, to see if the above attacking line up would work out.

Sturridge loan
I feel for Sturridge, he must feel deflated in the least, here's hoping that the loan and getting a regular start at Bolton set him up for a successful return to our first team in the near future.

Will he? Won't he?
On a purely personal note....the anticipation of the atmosphere in that ground Sunday if he walks out of the tunnel, is enough to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Will he? Won't he?
With our match against Liverpool on Sunday, Feb 6th, approaching fast, will we get our firts glimpse of Torres in a blue shirt? I guess the options are: Play him in the starting eleven. We paid £50m, he should be professional enough to take a bit of stick (albeit likely to be ferocious). Bring him on as a sub, allow things to simmer down a bit first (although, I doubt it, as the baiting from the Shed is likely to be non stop). Leave him on the bench, it's not just a bit of stick we need to worry about, it's former team mates as well. We need to protect our investment and it is unfair to put him under that much pressure on his debut.

Retractions and apologies
More of a confession from me, as I kept the following to myself (not ideal on a forum I know, but, I favour a display of loyalty over pessimistic posts where due). I admit to having harboured doubts as to Romans long term commitment to the club. We did not spend a significant amount in last summers transfer window after offloading so many players and as much as I understand the need to balance our books, I really thought it was clear we needed to spend some money to plug the gap. When considering that Roman has publicly been put in the frame to assist with the Russian World Cup funding, I thought that this could be the start of a wind down in commitment in order to concentrate on his own Nations game. Despite being over the moon with sigining of Luiz and still slightly stunned by Torres, I really didn't think this type of signing had any chance of happening whatsoever. I am more overjoyed by the fact that Roman has shown an ongoing commitment to the club even if he had spent half the money he did yesterday. I will now say three hail Mary's and wish to be absolved!

Torres Leaving L'Pool

I think £50 million would be well spent on a team of scouts that can produce the type of £7 million signings comparable to Javier Hernandez.

MOTM vs Everton
I must admit to feeling slightly biased to voting Ramires MOTD two matches on the spin! I have almost been willing him to shine, due to me feeling that a fresh signing has been made somewhat of a scapegoat for a dip in form instead of being allowed time to settle in to the team.

MOTM vs Everton
Ramires again for me (voted for him as well against). Although, not a MOTM performance for me, did anyone else think Bosingwa looked like he was finding his form again?

Torres Leaving L'Pool
Agreed, I think it could go one way or the other: Joining Chelsea is exactly the motivation he needs and he plays his socks off every match, in the sheer joy of a fresh start, being surrounded by world class players and CL football. We see the same insolent pouting brat we have witnessed over the last season at Liverpool, because, that's just the way he is? Think I'd want to find out which it's going to be before handing over the kind of wedge being discussed right now, if/whenever it does happen. Does attempting to rush through these kind of deals right at the end of the transfer window give us a enough time to truly know a player and his state of mind before we sign on the dotted line?

Bolton v Chelsea (PL) 24/1/11 KO 20:00 GMT
I must admit, when I first saw Ramires I thought he was going to spend a lot of time being kicked in the air by the likes of Stoke, but, after seeing him hold his own against Blackburn, I don't think there is too much to worry about.

MOTM Vs Bolton (Away)
Hard to pick...thought Drogba and Anelka shone tonight, but stubbornly, going for Ramires...think he deserves it after some of the stick he has taken.

Bolton v Chelsea (PL) 24/1/11 KO 20:00 GMT
Agreed, I think I was more surprised to see him getting right in the thick of it and coming out with the ball more often than not, considering his size in comparison to the Blackburn squad.

I will also be interested to see what Ramires does further up the field. I was impressed by his tackling against Blackburn when he went back to defend, it will be good to see if he can give a good account of himself going forward as well tonight.

Gatwick to Clapham
I normally go through Gatwick to into Clapham Jct, then a connecting train to West Brompton only takes 7 mins. A word of warning though, the West Brompton train normally departs from platform 2, however, on the days it doesn't...it departs from platform 17. These two platforms are at opposing ends of the station, so it may be an idea to ask someone with a hat & whistle before making your way, unless you fancy a 200 metre sprint.

Hello from Sudan
Welcome. Please say you were in a bar that catered for English visitors....when you said the bar was full of Villa fans, I can imagine all Sudanese as walking around moaning about the price of the toll road and calling roundabouts "islands".

I know it will prove to be entirely innocent having read the thread, however, I am unable to bring myself to click on a link titled 'Click here for girls under 12' for fear of having the Internet police abseil down the side of the house and take me away. :D
