All Time Fantasy Draft - Lofty vs PloKoon
It'd be a close one, but I'll have to go with Plokkers, his side slightly edges it.

Possible Drogba Return
True - not sure who that would be though. Hopefully Lukaku can make the step up?

Possible Drogba Return
We should never take Drogba back as a player - as others have already mentioned, his method of departure was superb. A lot of people seem to have short or blinkered memories, too - Drogs tended to do really well in the big games, but often went missing against 'lesser' sides. Ba is currently the better option by far. Having said that, I loved what Drogs did for Chelsea, and a future coaching role for him at the Bridge would be great!

Millwall or Spurs
I'd want the best of both worlds, so I'd go to the match v the y*ds in Amsterdam - but just saunter around outside Wembley before and after the game against Millwall. Not that I could ever remotely afford to do either!

Feruz
Absolutely right, Scott, just as we should never have signed Gianfranco Zola, Dennis Wise, John Spencer or David Speedie

Martin O'Neil sacked by Sunderland
I've never rated or liked O'Neill, even including his playing days. I just don't understand why he is rated so highly as a manager, after all, he's only been in charge at Wycombe, Norwich, Leicester, Septic, Villa and Sunderland, and hasn't set the world alight at any of them. I certainly wouldn't want him at Chelsea!

I know what you mean, I lived in Mitcham so I used jump on a bus then get the train in from Wimbledon. The inspectors must have thought I was a right lazy b*stard getting on the train at Parsons Green every fortnight

The All Time Top Scottish Footballers
Teritus, I mentioned Jimmy Johnstone in my opening sentence in that post. Even though he played for the scabby c*nts from Parkhead I've got to say I've always rated him extremely highly. There, I've admitted it, oh the shame of it all...

The All Time Top Scottish Footballers
I agree with the selection of Jim Baxter, Dave Mackay, Jimmy Johnstone and Denis Law, but definitely don't agree with Dalglish - especially in 1st place! There were a lot of top Scottish players years ago - Davie Cooper, Charlie Cooke, Graeme Souness, John Greig, Eddie McCreadie, Sandy Jardine, Derek Johnstone, Pat Nevin, Willie Henderson, Ally McCoist, Richard Gough, Ian Durrant, Alex McLeish, Andy Goram, Ronnie McKinnon, Martin Buchan, Stuart McCall, David Speedie, Colin Jackson, Willie Miller, Steve Clarke, Alan Hansen, Steve Archibald, Dave McPherson, David Hay, Ian Ferguson, Pat Stanton, Colin Stein, Tommy McLean, Willie Johnston, Mo Johnston, Tam Forsyth, Alex MacDonald, Dave Smith...the list goes on. Oh, I'd better include Danny McGrain, Tommy Gemmell and Billy Bremner or I'll be accused of bias. Me????

I was at that game, in the North Stand with the Rangers fans - brilliant atmosphere! Teams that night, 16 May 1985: - Chelsea - Niedzwiecki, Lee (Shearer), McLaughlin, Jones, Rougvie, Nevin, Spackman, Thomas, Canoville, Dixon, Speedie Rangers - from Walker, Burns, Dawson, MacKinnon, Paterson, Durrant, McMinn, Russell, Johnstone, Munro, Williamson, McCoist, Ferguson, Redford Goals by Kerry Dixon, Duncan Shearer and Hugh Burns (og) - Ian Durrant and Ally McCoist. Not the strongest Rangers side, I'll agree, but at least Ally Dawson, Bobby Russell, Ian Redford, an aging Derek Johnstone, and the young Ian Durrant and Ally McCoist were playing. I think the only first team regulars missing were Davie Cooper, Dave McPherson, Cammy Fraser and Robert Prytz. Rangers had a poor season in 84/85, finishing 4th in the league, the only success being in the League Cup. The following season was even worse, finishing 5th in the league and winning f*ck all.

Soft spots for other teams?
Inflatable Ingrid latest...she told me that one night Mike got a bit passionate and gave her a lovebite, whereby Ingrid farted and flew out the window. Mike took this as rejection, but she only needed some air...sorry!
-
Who do you hate the most?
Surely there should be an option for "all of the above"? Out of that list, Hansen is the least detestable.
-
Soft spots for other teams?
She went down on anyone who'd have her, moi, but in the end I think she found herself feeling a bit deflated.
-
Soft spots for other teams?
Sorry to be the one to tell you, Mike, but it was Inflatable Ingrid - she told me just before she went down.

All Time Fantasy Draft Game
I don't want to sound like an arse, but is it really fair for people to be picking their subs before they've selected their first X!? Just thought it would be fairer for everyone to pick their X! first, then select subs, otherwise what's the point of having a one nationality rule?

All Time Fantasy Draft Game
To my mind, all the discussion about todays players being better than yesterdays is a waste of time. There were vast differences between football in, say, the 1960's and football today. The pitches were awful most of the time back then, sometimes resembling ploughed fields, tackling was still allowed, and virtually every side had a hatchet man. How would todays players cope with being close marked by the likes of Chopper Harris, Tommy Smith or Dave Mackay on a pitch that made the Somme look like a country park? I'm guessing not too well. On the opposite side of the coin, how would the likes of Best, Cooke, Gray and Marsh cope with playing on pitches as smooth as billiard tables and defenders afraid to tackle. I'm guessing they wouldn't be able to believe their luck. So basically, my view is that the previous generation of attacking players would excel in todays game, whereas the defenders would struggle to stay on the pitch for longer than ten minutes. Likewise, if todays footballers were to have played under the conditions and rules of the previous generation, the attacking players would be running home whimpering to mummy about the rough boys on the pitch, but defenders would have the time of their lives. Theory? Maybe, but based on watching football for well over 45 years. Also got to bear in mind that players these days tend to be generally bigger than most players from 40+ years ago, some of which is undoubtedly due to training techniques from an early age. This is especially true of goalkeepers, most of whom today are like giants compared to the likes of Peter Bonetti who was about 5' 10" or 5' 11", and I seem to remember a keeper at either Ipswich or Norwich who was only 5' 7". By the way, Lofty 1905, Jimmy Johnstone is a great selection. Although he played for the detested Septic I always rated him very highly, and was lucky enough to meet him many years ago in a pub (where else?) where we had a couple of pints.

Rangers vs Stirling Albion (SFL 3rd) 23/03/2013 KO 12:00 GMT
I'd happily unload the fat twat on almost any club in the world to get him away from the Bridge, but I'd hate to see him at Ibrox just as much as I hate him at Chelsea

Terrace Taunts
"Move altogether, move altogether" - when we were steaming an away end. Also, "Altogether now, altogether now" as a variation of the above, it was from the chorus of the crap Beatles children's song of the same name from the Yellow Submarine album. Naturally we sang it in a far more threatening way
