  1. Before even my time, but I remember my uncle Pete telling me about Seamus O'Connell. He only played 17 games in his only season at Chelsea, but had a hell of an impact, and he's still fondly remembered by fans from that era. RIP Seamus
  2. Good point, well made - git!
  3. You should be banned just for picking a froggy!
  4. Just heard his interview on the radio - f*ckin' love it, he's finally cracked, the useless fat scouse-lovin' c*nt. With any luck Abramovich will get rid of the twat before the end of the season - and hopefully learn from this experience (I won't be holding my breath).
  5. Chelsea to Shrewsbury away "you're Welsh, and you know you are" To any ref who displeased us "Referee, referee, Your old lady is an 'ore, our old lady is an 'ore" To George Best (to the tune of 'Jesus Christ Superstar') "Georgie Best, superstar Walks like a woman and he wears a bra" To Martin Chivers of Tottenham (to the tune of 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes') - possibly frowned upon just a tad these days! "They asked me how I knew, Chivers was a jew, I of course replies, With that nose and them eyes, He must be circumcised" And to any opposition player who got injured, we all hummed the Death March
  6. Worst ever season as far as I'm concerned - I was happier when the likes of Blanchflower, Hurst & Porterfield were in charge. Only way to cheer everyone up is for the fat c*nt to leave never to return. Might be a good idea for the mods to install a link to the Samaritans till the end of the season...
  7. Great to see Little scoring again, he's now level top scorer with Lee McCulloch with 22.
  8. OK, but I've decided it would be selfish to select Robert Fleck before the rest of you had another chance to get him, so here goes... Ruud Gullit (Holland) - the total footballer. Ruud had everything, athleticism, strength, balance and pace, was a highly skillful player and was strong in the air. He also possessed great vision, and had an exceptional range of passing. Plus of course, he played for and managed Chelsea, God bless his dreadlocks! George Best (Northern Ireland)- without a doubt the best player I've ever seen in the flesh (so to speak). Two-footed, strong, good in the air, dribbling skills that were second to none, and a fine range of passing - superb player.
  9. Bloody hell, this is taking forever...
  10. I remember Chelsea taking the Holgate End back in the 70's, but have no idea which season it was. The only time I ever saw a Boro mob at the Bridge was the play-off game, and they were very lucky there was a fence to protect them. Having said that, Boro had a half-decent mob, though they did tend to throw darts at away fans which was pretty cowardly in my opinion. We've never really had a rivalry with them though, not sure how a southern team can have a rivalry with a northern one. Apart from West Ham & the Geordies, but that was based on one incident involving a petrol bomb. Our rivals have always been Tottenham and West Ham, and to a lesser extent, Arsenal. QPR and Fulham like to think they're our rivals, but that's a bit like Hartlepool or York City claiming to be Boro's rivals
  11. Can't agree with most of this - in my opinion, Rooney is the most over-rated English player since Beckham. I wouldn't have wanted either of them at Chelsea, even at the height of their careers, hate both of them with a passion. Typical case of the English press desperately wanting a hero, just goes to show how pathetic the English game is when they choose the likes of Rooney & Beckham.
  12. Excellent work yet again Gem, far prefer this one!
  13. I'm doing this on a trial basis, as I love my normal avatar. As TBB states, it's gonna be a bugger trying to find posts by individual posters, but such is life. I searched the net for a better picture, as I object strongly to calling that fat Spanish c*nt by his nickname. I was hoping for a pic with a sign saying something like "*f**k off Benitez you useless fat c*nt", but so far I've had no success. Rest assured my search will continue.
  14. The Tote End at Eastville, not a bad mob as I remember
  15. I remember the cafe by Fulham Broadway station, and the Chelsea Supporters Club shop opposite, where I used to spend ages deciding which old programmes to buy - good days. Other than that, the only businesses I was interested in on match day were the boozers, when I was older.
  16. I never had a Harrington, always preferred the old Levi jacket. Got my tonic suit in Tooting, but I can't for the life of me remember where I used to get my DM steelies, probably up Petticoat Lane, definitely got my knee length sheepskin from there, loved that coat.
  17. Possibly, geezer, there are so many explanations though that it's difficult to find the original one
  18. It was always 'spastics' in the old days, seems to have changed now though. As for the Chelsea fans in rival colours, I was probably at that game (memory again, doh!), Chelsea and Bristol Rovers both play in blue and white, so I don't understand that one.
  19. Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of, PB. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berwick_Rangers_F.C._1%E2%80%930_Rangers_F.C.
  20. yeah, bring on chelseabootboy as sub
  21. The "and Leicester" story was that a coach load of Chelsea were heading up the M1 singing "We hate Nottingham Forest" just as they went past the sign for the Leicester turn off, and it just got added on after the "We hate Arsenal too" bit.
  22. Weird, I don't remember that though I'm sure I would have been there. Mind you, there are so many games that I can't remember that I'm not surprised - beer has a nasty habit of closing down the memory.
  23. I used to love light & bitter, some keg bitters (Double Diamond, Courage Tavern), Dry Blackthorn cider, Guinness, and later on, lager. Hurlimanns is a beautiful pint, but has the same effect as Stella after a while. First pint of Stella I ever drank was in the St.Heliers Arms in Carshalton around 1972. Those were the days indeed! And YorkleyBlue, you're right - I used to enjoy the occasional pint of Babycham in a jug with a pint of Snowball chaser
  24. What's the hold-up, I'm on tenterhooks hoping that nobody else picks Robert Fleck before me!
