The Decline of Scottish Football
Rangers & Septic have obviously dominated for over a century, but in my lifetime I've seen the likes of Aberdeen, Dundee United and Hearts challenge strongly. Not the Hibees though, they only managed 3rd place a couple of times. Even St.Mirren and St.Johnstone matched this, though please correct me if I'm wrong, EB, my memory isn't what is once was. I also remember a small mob of Hibees walking through the Nethergate in Dundee in 1977, smashing up shops on their way to the game (can't remember if was at Tannadice or Dens Park). They came unstuck further up the road though when a mob of Dundee locals decided a wee chat was in order.

The headhunters?
I drank in the Wheatsheaf for a couple of years, then The Rising Sun, The Hand & Flower, The Lord Palmerston, The Rose, The White Hart, The Kings Head, The Swan and The Black Bull. Not all on the same day of course, unless I was really thirsty!

Leicester rivalry
I went to Leicester many times in the 70's and early 80's, and never rated them as a mob, much less a rival mob. As cfcblue says, Leicester never once brought a mob to the Bridge, they were a bunch of w*nkers really, on a par with the likes of Coventry or West Brom. The only reason I can think that they reckon they're our rivals is the fact they're mentioned in one of our songs - which had nothing to do with their club, more to do with a motorway sign. Wannabee midland w*nkers, they were bad enough when they were the Leicester Kop, but when they changed their name to the 'Baby Squad' they were just laughable.

Vintage Blues pictures and film
Interesting read, but I certainly can't remember anyone singing about "a mutilated body of a scouse git" Wasn't it... In the dark back streets of Liverpool Where the Mile End's never been Lies the chewed up body of a scouse git Where the North Stand kicked him in To hell with Liverpool, to hell with Man.City We'll fight fight fight for the Chelsea Till we win the football league ...? That's how I remember it anyway.

Berwick vs Rangers (SFL 3rd) 23/02/2013 KO 12:00 GMT
Berwick Rangers always make me nervous, bad history for Rangers there. Hoping for a good victory though!

The headhunters?
I went to the vast majority of Chelsea games home and away from 1972 until 1985/86, and never once heard any of our mobs referred to as the headhunters - for me it was just the Shed, North Stand, or Gate 13. I'm so glad some of you have said the same, I thought my memory was getting even worse!

All Time Fantasy Draft Game
OK, I'll give it a go - think I remember this from last year, but can't be sure...now where did I leave my trousers?

Rangers Reserves Title Decider vs Queen's Park 19/02/2013 KO 19:15 GMT
I'd love to see that one, though there's no chance of it being shown anywhere. Rangers to win Division 3 and the Reserves League, bring it on!!!

Carra hangs up his boots
Hanging up his boots? I'd prefer it if he'd hang himself, the nauseating scouse c*nt.

All-time best XI
That's the one, mate, I remember watching that on TV. Hunter took a sly dig at Lee, then hid behind his team-mates, but Lee caught up with him - great stuff!

All-time best XI
Blimey, I didn't realise all those players went over to the States!

how popular is it?
Best place to watch football is Europe, large crowds, great atmosphere, decent players. Having said that, it's long been an ambition of mine to attend a Boca Juniors v River Plate game in Argentina, but first I have to win the lottery in order to afford it.

Thursday nights.....make it a weekend!
Makita Tournament 1993? We beat Ajax on penalties, then stuffed Spuds 4-0 - Cascarino hat-trick! Strange, Chelsea always seemed to have a stronger bond with Feyenoord, probably due to the kicking Feyenoord gave Tottenham many years ago. Ajax and Spurs fans seemed to have an 'alliance' for the same reason. I dare say a few of Rotterdam's finest will be attending the Ajax/Chelsea matches, great bunch of lads. That's assuming we get through, can't take anything for granted with Benitez in charge.

Thomson should blog off...
The bloke sounds like a prize c*nt.

Whilst nearly everyone knows about the Nazi holocaust, very little is mentioned about the millions of Jews murdered by the Russians under Stalin. Call me a cynic, but could this possibly be because the Russians were on our side in WW2? Millions of Native Americans were murdered in an earlier holocaust by US forces in the 19th century, though that hardly ever gets mentioned either. The vast majority of surviving Native Americans live in abject poverty on reservations to this day, large numbers of them suffering from disease, severe depression and alcoholism due to lack of work and support. Suicides among these people is extortionately high, yet very little is done to help them. I get so angry when I hear Americans bleating on about the Jewish holocaust, their ancestors were doing exactly the same thing as Hitler less than 100 years earlier.

Anyone remember Jack Charlton standing on the goal line directly in front of the keeper? He scored loads of goals by doing that at every corner Leeds had. He was famous for it, and it was always allowed - there was even a cartoon in a Chelsea v Leeds programme in the 60's showing Charlton on the line with a defender trying to deal with him by having another defender on his shoulders.

Drugs in Football
Drugs in football is nothing new, I'm pretty sure the Chelsea side of 1982/83 were all stoned out of their minds for the best part of the season.

All-time best XI
Kenny Burns over Norman Hunter every time, Hunter wasn't hard, he was a coward - loved dishing it out, but couldn't take it. He even got slapped around the pitch by Fat Franny Lee at the Baseball Ground! I posted a British hard-man XI some time ago in another thread, but I can't find it. I'll see if I can remember who I selected last time... Neville Southall Ron Harris - Kenny Burns - Jack Charlton - Joey Jones Tommy Smith - Dave Mackay - Graeme Souness - Willie Johnston Joe Jordan - Duncan Ferguson These almost made the team: - Joe Corrigan; Peter Storey; Graham Roberts; Terry Yorath; Billy Bonds; Doug Rougvie; Stuart Pearce; Billy Bremner; Nobby Stiles; Jimmy 'Head' Case; Andy Lochhead; Mick Harford; Billy Whitehurst

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
I sat and watched Septic v Juve last night, first time I've watched a game live in many weeks, and needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it! All the pundits were saying before the match was how much the atmosphere at Parkhead would intimidate Juve - what a f*ckin' joke! Like Juve have never played in front of a large hostile crowd before, I had a little chuckle at that. Had to switch channels when they showed the scum fans singing YNWA, couldn't face that having just eaten. Typically, I got up to put the dishes in the sink and missed the first goal. The filthy unwashed hordes went a bit quiet after going behind so early. I thought Juve were crap for the first 75 minutes, their passing was atrocious (apart from some sublime balls by Pirlo) and they couldn't keep possession to save their lives. Their game plan worked though, kept the scum out then wore them down and punished them late on - great stuff, and I cheered as loud as anyone when they scored their goals. The only thing that spoilt the evening was Andy Townshend doing co-commentary, the man is a twat of the highest order - how the hell he's got a job in the sports media is beyond me. This was the first time I've seen Septic play live since the last Old Firm game, and I wasn't really impressed with any of their players individually, but they played well as a team. I still hate Scott Brown with a passion, some things never change, and Gary Hooper is still a c*nt. It pains me to say it, but Septic played the perfect game to press and push Juve, can't begin to understand why we didn't use the same tactics against them. Hard to believe this was the same team who took four points off us in the group.

Last Movie You Watched
Got to be honest, a decent documentary on the subject is far more powerful than a movie, however well intentioned. I became disillusioned with movies based on historical events many years ago, mainly due to the ridiculous historical inaccuracies and 'artistic license' used in so many of them. Thanks anyway, Maks, I shall keep a look out for 'Night And Fog'!
