  1. I don't want either Emanalo or Grant at the club, neither of them bring anything other than a long tongue to stick up Roman's arse.
  2. I queued up for that one too, joined the queue between the main entrance & the Bovril entrance when the pubs kicked out. Don't think the tickets went on sale till 9 or 10 in the morning, us fans were made of sterner stuff back then, no sleeping bags, no blankets, just thousands of Chelsea fans standing around in their crombies, had a good laugh too!
  3. Nice find, good to see Cardiff v Real Madrid!
  4. Good shout, mate, I remember watching Gento play against Chelsea in the ECWC Final in 1971 - alas it was only on TV, I would've given my right arm to be in Athens that week.
  5. It's worrying how much Rangers seem to depend on Templeton, Little & McCulloch. It's not as though it's a team full of youngsters either, there's a fair bit of experience in there, but without the quality we'd prefer. Maybe Ally can bring some new lads in during the summer on free transfers, the Gers need to improve a bit for Division 2 or there could be even more embarrassing results. Never mind though, we've pissed the league this season and the fans have had a great time on the terracing at all those Division 3 grounds - wish I could join 'em!
  6. Sounds like him, haven't seen him in about 35 years, we had some great laughs back in the day - he'd be about 56 now.
  7. Ah, the Gareth I knew also supported Septic (we often rowed about it after a few beers) and had quite a few tattoos including one of a black panther on his forearm.
  8. That's the one, big fella with a beard (at least in 1973) - nice bloke too.
  9. That wouldn't be Gareth from North Cheam would it? Anyone remember a big black geezer called Ali in the early 70's - I didn't see him much at home matches, more the away games. He managed to get the Chelsea to stick together after the game at Sheffield Wednesday in 1973, which saved our arses. No mean achievement back then when large numbers of Chelsea tended to disintegrate into smaller mobs and do their own thing.
  10. erskblue, you total b*stard, you just nicked my next three picks in one fell swoop! Right, is it the right time to pick Fleck - naaah, I'll go for Paul Breitner (Germany)
  11. Rooney isn't even the best forward at Manchester United
  12. Have you read any of the recent match threads? I for one don't want to be associated with the morons who have ruined them lately.
  13. We might be waiting some time, he's still struggling with English at the moment. Rooney shouldn't even be considered to wear the sacred blue of Chelsea, he's an over-rated stunted brain-dead scouser who wears his arse hair on his head. I want us to sign him as much as I wanted us to sign David Beckham - over my dead body! Andreas, I fear that your elevation to mod may have adversely affected your mind, how could you initiate such a thread?
  14. Right, jazzy big name striker it is! Didier Drogba, need I explain why?
  15. "I was born under the Chelsea Shed, I was born under the Chelsea Shed, Knives are made for stabbin' Guns are made to shoot If you come under the Chelsea Shed We'll all stick in the boot I was born under the Chelsea Shed The Chelsea, Chelsea Shed
  16. Can't speak for recent years as I don't go to the Bridge anymore - but in the 70's, early 80's the loudest oppo fans in my opinion were... At the Bridge - Man.Utd, Tottenham, Portsmouth, and Rangers Away - Newcastle, Birmingham, Liverpool, Arsenal and possibly Stoke Probably change my mind tomorrow though...
  17. No idea, but I'd be interested to know - used to hang around with his little mob when I was about 15 or 16 (72/73)
  18. That's not really true, he said they had tiny Brians, is that a euphemism?
  19. F*ck me, some of those posts on there are comical - nearly as bad as the West Ham "we won every fight we ever had since nursery' ICF, pretty pathetic.
  20. Top man, TD, thanks a lot mate. I'll be watching that tomorrow, look forward to it!
  21. I'd love to see that too, TD - bound to be one around somewhere in the near future!
  22. I don't see why JT & Lamps couldn't work as a managerial partnership, after all, they were effectively in charge while Grant was supposed to be managing. I've still got memories of JT doing team talks on the pitch when we were about to go into extra time while Grant just stood around like a spare prick at a wedding. We reached the Champions League final in spite of having Grant as our manager, not because of it - I'm can't believe that Grant is being touted as our new interim, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the club again.
  23. I'm currently listening to this as I type - Maksimov is totally to blame!
  24. Great top advertising my favourite cider, and I always preferred Puma boots when I played - looking good!
  25. 1971 - FC Bruges in the Cup Winners Cup QF. 2-0 down from the first leg, and Peter Osgood playing his first game after an eight week ban - atmosphere was electric. 1975 - Tottenham away, we lost 2-0 and got relegated. I never made it into the ground along with thousands of other Chelsea fans, extremely hostile atmosphere, so much at stake for both sides. 1976 - Millwall away in the old Division 2, we lost 0-3. For most of us it was our first ever game against Millwall, and considering their fans' reputation we didn't really know quite what to expect. For those of us who made it into the CBL it was an education, Millwall more than lived up to their rep that day. 1977 - Wolves away, we drew 1-1 and so got promoted as runners-up to Wolves, brilliant turn out from Chelsea fans. 1982 - Tottenham at home in the FA Cup QF, we lost 2-3 and the tension was very high due to expectations of crowd trouble, to the extent of the famous black programme cover. Needless to say the y*ds bottled it yet again though. Also, any game against West Ham was always very tense as we knew they'd have a go no matter what.
