I thought I'd have a go at selecting a Dutch side, but now wish I hadn't started - so much talent for such a small nation! Ended up picking three teams... 1st. I know some players may be out of position, and many people will disagree strongly with my selections - I now await criticism, abuse and humiliation in equal doses

I never went to watch England, but that wouldn't surprise me in the least! Southampton would always fight Pompey, but I don't remember them ever fighting anyone else, especially not us! Chelsea and West Ham didn't exactly see eye to eye at England games either from what I've heard - not really a shock

I was at that game too, 3rd January 1981 at the Dell. Southampton won 3-1 as you say, with goals by Kevin Keegan, Steve Moran and Graham Baker - Colin Lee scored our goal. Steve Francis didn't play in this game though, Petar Borota played every game we played that season. Portsmouth by a long way on both counts. Pompey were always up for it, whereas Southampton were the more athletic mob, very good at running.

To the tune of "Give Peace A Chance"... "All we are saying, is Lampard must stay" And if he leaves, to the tune of "My Bonnie" "Bring back, oh bring back, oh bring back our Lampard to us, to us" Doubt if either will have any effect though. Both songs were sung relentlessly for Peter Osgood when Sexton decided to get rid of him, to no avail.

I remember seeing the news reports of the disaster on TV at the time, horrific thing to happen.

I'm pretty sure that's the old North Stand in the background. Checked games for that season, and the only one where those three players all played was the league match on 10 October 1970 at the Bridge (1-1) - I was at that game! We played City five times that season, twice in the league, FA Cup 4th Rd, and the two-legged ECWC Semi-Final. Great pic by the way!

We were put out of the title race as soon as Benitez took over

I've been apathetic about Chelsea for a while now, ever since Mourinho left to be honest. It's not just to do with the football, as I refuse to watch us while Benitez is in charge - I just see the results and read the comments on here! It first started when Avram Grant was put in charge, a man who was clearly not up to the job in any way and who didn't have the respect of the players. When Scolari was appointed something inside of me died a little more, and again when Ancelotti came in. I know a lot of people loved Carlo, but I wasn't one of them. When RDM took over, I was happy as a pig in sh*t, so you can imagine how I felt when he was sacked. And now we've got Benitez, Abramovich couldn't have chosen a more unpopular manager if he'd tried. Hopefully my apathy will disappear when FSW leaves the Bridge forever and we appoint a manager who will be both loved and respected by the fans - I'd love that man to be Robbie Di Matteo, but that's never going to happen, unfortunately. Weird really, I never felt apathetic about Chelsea when we were struggling in Division Two, I was always optimistic and would have supported the club even if we'd gone into non-league football. Probably because we had managers and players who cared about Chelsea back then, with the obvious exception of Geoff Hurst, who was and still is a prize w*nker.

Richards was a very promising youngster a few years back, and I wanted us to sign him then. His career hasn't progressed as well as anticipated though, but his strength and pace might prove an asset to the team. He can play RB and CB, so he could become a valued squad player. Having said all that, I think it's all press bollocks again!

I think we need to keep him at the Bridge - as others have said, the ACN is nearly here and we could find ourselves short. Plus, why the f*ck would we want to help out QPR by loaning them a top player - f*ck 'em!!!

Not to mention the carving knives and spanners!
