Mike Carefree Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Id like to wish BOBBY TAMBLING best love and wishes as i read today of his ailing health
moi Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Oh dear, he's had a turn for the worse, has he? All me best wishes too go out to Bobby. I wonder if he is as eager as us to see Frank equal/beat his record?
BlueBeard Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Thinking of you Bobby, hope you recover fully, best wishes
moi Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I've just goggled it to see if it;'s what he had last time. And no, it's not, which is good news (of a sort). He has severe leg ulcerations and has been in hospital for four months.
geezer Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 ChelseaTV interviewed Frank after getting his 200th goal against the Spammers last week where Frank admitted he hadn't spoken to Bobby for a while. Immediately after the interview he put that right and there was a further clip showing him speaking to Bobby on the phone.
Charles Ryder Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I hope he makes a speedy recovery, a true gent from all accounts I've read, and very well regarded by Chelsea supporters. I believe he was a club representative on our last pre-season trip to the States, and that he travelled over with his wife? I know it gets said a lot, but you've got to be pleased with the way the club looks after it's own nowadays, particularly after some of the unsavoury stuff that happened during the Bates era.
moi Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 This is what he's suffering from, which sounds incredibly painful, and is associated with heart problems and high blood pressure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martorelli's_ulcer
Gem Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 :( get well soon Bobby :( we ain't ready to let you go in the slightest.
Samdwich Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Best wishes to Bobby. As some have already mentioned, a true gent by all accounts. Hope he gets well soon.
Mike Carefree Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 At this point i must retell my little story of how nice Bobby is.....Circa 68, i was a tiny lad on holiday on Hayling Island...I went to a sports shop not knowing anything about the place....I bought a large picture of BT...The lady who served me informed me this very man was in the back room and asked if i would like the pic of him signed....He came out and signed it for a shy dumbstruck 13 year old.......

mad_mac Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 The Shed End, as always, are fully behind a speedy recovery for Bobby!
Mike Carefree Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 I bet he wouldn't have if he'd known how dotty you would become! He would have picked me up by the collar, thrown me out of his shop and shouted..." Beaway with you , and n er come near these parts again"
blue man Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 We all hope for a speedy recovery Bobby, all the best
bluedrake55 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 i have never met him but i have been told and read up that he was quite a striker with bridges. and at the age of 22 he captained the side to promotion. reading on here certainly gives me more insight on the man himself. speedy recovery mr tambling.
Scooby Blue Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Let's hope he gets well soon! He knows all us Chelsea fans are thinking of him I'm sure.
Charles Ryder Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 (edited) Tambling returns as Senior Manager....... Crosshaven AFC are delighted to announce the return of Bobby Tambling, Chelsea & Crosshaven legend as Senior team manager for the 2013/2014 season. Bobby will take charge with immediate effect & will appoint his back room staff in due course. Bobby's love for the club, his ever improving health & his undoubted ability to coach & man manage players, especially younger ones, made this an easy decision for the club. All at Crosshaven AFC welcome Bobby back & wish him well for the coming season. Delightful news, Bobby is fighting fit and stepping back into a management role in Ireland.
