Wolves vs Chelsea | 2 Jan | KO 1500 Hrs GMT
Ah excellent, another 45 minutes of crossing to nobody and shooting from 40 yards! Maybe it is time to try some different tactics?

Chelsea v Aston villa(PL) 31/12/11 KO 15:00 GMT
AVB has made mistakes but the players have been f*****g appalling! Can't tackle, can't pass, can't make a decent run to save themselves and absolutely no fight. So many past it players collecting paychecks. I agree with the earlier posters that the the youngsters need to now be given a chance (what the hell does Josh need to do to get a game?). We need HUGE changes and we need them fast.

Have we ever played Malouda on the right? Considering most of the time he drifts into the middle and take shots would it not be a better position for him?

Deadline Day ... Wednesday 31st August
Really can't believe that spuds turned down 40 million for Modric! Would have been an awesome deal for them!

Chelsea vs West Brom (PL) 20/08/11 KO 1730 BST
Good result, but shocking first half performance. Hilario was solid, not that worried about the next month with him between the sticks. Boss is getting better. I was very impressed with Ramires once again - by far our best midfielder! Bar a couple of decent touches, Lampard was sh**e. Kalou is useless. Thought Torres was good - just needs someone who can actually make a defence-splitting pass for him. Mata and Modric are exactly what we need - please go get them!

Chelsea vs West Brom (PL) 20/08/11 KO 1730 BST
No, I genuinely can't! I accepted it last season because he was struggling with injuries for most of it. But if this is him fully fit, then he is no longer good enough to start for us. I have the upmost respect for what he has given to the club, but this is not a testimonial match, these are games that we really need to be winning!

Josh and Yossi offered much more than Lampard in pre-season - get either one of them on!

Is Lampard actually on the pitch?

Name your wide man
Gotze and Hazard please! Both have the potential to be world class.

Anyone else starting to sense something big is coming?
Correct. While I know they are for the future we have essentially signed a 3rd choice striker and 3rd or 4th choice DM while we have sold our backup LB/LM. Does this mean we actually have a weaker team than last season?

Javier Pastore
Like many of you, I have only seen his clips on youtube and the occasional game for Palermo or Argentina. However, my Argentinian friends (who know their football) really, really rate this guy (more highly than Aguero, which surprised me). They see him as the next big thing for Argentina. Although he is a pretty tall guy at 6'2 they were concerned about his slight build, and how he would cope in the English league as a result. It might take him a little while to settle, but it appears it he could be a fantastic signing for us! Me personal opinion is that he is exactly what we need. Young, quick, creative, excellent on the ball and has the potential to bring the best out of Torres. Fingers crossed!

Falcao to Chelsea?
Really don't think we need him. Although he is a very good player, I don't believe he is good enough for Chelsea. Sure he has scored 41 goals in 50 over the last 2 seasons but let's not forget that this was in the Portuguese league! In the last 2 years just one team from Portugal has made it into the last 16 of the Champions League (Porto in 2010, who were subsequently demolished 6-2 by Arsenal)! I don't really rate Ligue 1 but it has still managed to contribute 4 teams in the same timespan! 17 goals in a UEFA Cup campaign is also impressive, but again it was the UEFA Cup (this is a competition that has seen Middlesborough, Rangers & Fulham as recent finalists!). I wouldn't be surprised if the likes of Bent, Adebayor or Defoe achieved similar feats in these two competitions (these players would be easily be the leading scorers for the 3 teams I've just mentioned, but aren't in the same league as Torres/Drogba!). His international record (7 in 29) is, I believe, a closer reflection of his ability (good, but not good enough for us).

Defensive Reinforcements
Think this idea has a lot of potential. Luiz is fantastic at breaking up play and could be really effective in the DM role. He is probably better on the ball than any CB in the league (and many more attacking players too), so wouldn't look out of place in the middle of the park. If the job of the DM is to break up play and play easy balls to more creative players then this is something he capable of doing very effectively. However, if Essien is back to his best the position should be his, with Ramires and Lampard/[new signing] playing just ahead of him.
