Mount wasn't poor, he had a role to play in the games and executed it well in the main. People were unhappy because it wasn't their favourite player picked and mount is an easy target for those who dislike our manager for some reason.

I just don't think he's good enough to be starting games for us yet. He has looked devoid of all confidence since he came back from injury. 
If CHO was a 30 year old then no one would say his form deserves a place in the team. He also doesn't deserve to play simply because he is young and will improve, he needs to show it in the 20 minutes he gets and in the starts he gets in B team games like against Krasnador - which for me he hasn't done. He looked miles away from being good enough despite his goal (a poor shot that should have been saved by any decent keeper). 
So whilst he looks that devoid of confidence, you start a player who is full of energy, who you trust and who has confidence. Mount.

I don’t get the social media abuse of Mount, I really don’t. We have been moaning for years about bringing through players and when we do, they get absolutely vilified after a poor performance. 
 
I hope Mount doesn’t read half the stuff posted about him. He’s a magnificent talent. 

The way he was pinging the ball out to the wing in the wind was very impressive. Everybody else struggled with that yesterday, but he was dealing with it well.

Who would've thought we'd see a young English lad establish himself, coming through the youth team, in the Abramovich era? 
He's already a quality player and given his age he's only going to get better and better over the coming years. 
He already looks a future captain in the making as well.

Don't see an issue with this. Why not buy the best local talent? Bayern do it in Germany and it works for them.

This rumour suits all parties. his agent let it know Milan had not opened talks on a new deal,clearly unhappy about it. So this either kickstarts bidding (I.e. Milan want to sell/he wants to go), or he gets a new deal there.
For us maybe Rennes agree to drop the price of Mendy as we look to be moving to another target.

He is only 23 and a full England international, accustomed to the league, has pace, puts in good balls, deals with areal threats, people are acting like we bought a dud, he is not world class but he is a good player with plenty of room to grow, it’s not my favourite signing but it’s hardly a disaster.

You went so deep in this philosophical question about what the forum is for, well I'm maybe way off here but I'll take a wild guess and say that the point is to support the team. It's about backing Lampard, it's that simple.
First we complain that the board isn't listening to the manager, now that they are listening we don't like it...even if the player didn't even sign yet.
Conte had his Morata, still won the FA Cup. Sarri had his Kepa, still won the Europa League.
This remark that Lampard is maybe already wrong reminds me of that part of the Gospel when everyone is in the boat confused and panicking because of a storm..."Men of little faith." #BackingLampard

Marcotti is a great student of the game and understands the politics, culture and business side better than most and writes about it very well. But that doesn’t make him an expert on rumor rating as his comments about Havertz prove. 

Wan Bissaka cost United £50m.
Chilwell is much further along as a player and will cost us a similar price. 
Lampard getting the player he wants no more 2nd, 3rd choice style signings like Zappacosta and Emerson.

grew up in Montreal, Canada where football isn't as popular but I fell in love with Chelsea in 2007 (when I was 18yo) after watching them a few times when our legendary spine was in the beginning stages of its prime. Very hard to pick but I would say:

I respect Ossie, Zola and all the other earlier chelsea greats, they were just before my time and didn't have a chance to appreciate them during their playing careers

would prefer not to give them zouma but if we can get martial in exchange this would be worth it imo

well it is hard to tell, but I think that Sarri has asked him for sure and in fact Gonzalo kind of confirmed it during the presentation at Milan, apparently Chelsea did make an attempt but at a much lower price than what Juve required and later tried to swap him for Morata but clearly the board was not convinced and preferred to spend the money on the keeper. We'll see, it is already sometine that I do not really understand your management's strategy but in  the end the results will tell if they are right.

Good to see the club supporting the new coach. Should be a great signing if it goes through.
