Course we don't need him, we would still have the same problems in midfield even if we were to get him but he's a good player regardless and for that price I would snap their hands off. Would prefer Paulinho though or better yet just bring back KDB. Edit: Actually no, scratch all that. The more I think about it the more I realise that he is no better than KDB, at least KDB can tackle, defend sufficiently well and finish unlike Pjanic. So no, I wouldn't want him.

I think this was going to be his last season regardless, either that or he may have pushed on for another year before leaving. Funny thing is he's still on target so far this season, 2 points off 4th (Pretty much the club's only target, FA Cup is a bonus) and in the last 16 of the CL despite the likes of like Ramsey, Gervinho, Santos, Vermaelen, etc being useless. I still think they will make the top 4 myself but it will probably be closer than what he's normally accustomed to. As for if I would want him here, the answer is simply no. Don't want to write on essay so I'll keep it brief. Tactically he's not all there, he doesn't have the right mentality anymore, it's like listening to Rodgers during the early stages of his Liverpool reign giving an interview after each match; delusion. And as for the financial restrictions, that was more down to Wenger at times than the board itself. Plus giving the big money signings he's made over the years, it's probably for the best that there are restrictions. I would have been pretty content with him as the interim manager as it would make the transition from him to Pep (Assuming we get him that is) easier and we could really kick on the following season, but I really can't think of any reason why I would want him to be our full time manager. Well no, that's no true per say...he would give our youngsters plenty of chances which would be great to see but that alone isn't enough.

Would love to have him here but it depends on the price, he's happy there and signed an extension last I heard so if we wanted him we would have to pay big bucks to get him which isn't something I would be comfortable with. But yeah, very good player and if we manage to get him for a reasonable price I would be pleased.

If you can't see the improvement in our defending and the effect it's had on certain players then I think you are taking your point a bit too far, apart from that small thing I agree.

Oh, I get you. I had their defence in mind when I wrote that, it's not great and I'm expecting them to get players back which will help us to take control of the midfield, which is their strongest area. They have a few good strikers, assuming Liedson is back from his loan, otherwise it's just one really. A full strength team should get goals past them, probably concede one or something seeing as our defence and the one protecting the defence is still a work in progress but a comfortable win regardless.

No but if that had been one of our players I wouldn't begrudge him for going down considering the circumstances. I'm sure there are some here who would probably advocate Hazard going down a bit more if it wins us PK's considering how often he gets fouled.

I personally wouldn't mention the Copa Libertadores as if it's some great achievement for them, it's the first time ever they have won it in decades and they had help in the form of easier run ins compared to others. Besides, I was going off their league games which has just finished. Assuming we pick a strong team and everyone is up for it, i.e. not another Super Cup performance, it should be a straight forward win, whether or not that happens however is another thing.

What's the news on Romeu? Would be gutted if he out for a long period, bad enough he may not go to Japan.
