  1. So basically Fox have nothing to show in terms of football? They already lost Serie A and Ligue 1.
  2. Quite frankly I would rather have Cahill in the DM role than Luiz.
  3. Don't get carried away, he's a decent finisher at best. Now he's just the best of a bad bunch. He can't be any worse as a forward than he is as a winger so I'm inclined to agree. As for one on ones, he panicked and messed up a good amount last season. If that rule was actually enforced properly Liverpool would have had countless freekicks and probably a few pens in that game just from Fellaini alone. Speaking of which he should have been sent off about 6 times during the match. I think it was a very harsh decision and when I saw it I actually think it's Jagielka that backs into Coates (Probably why he didn't complain) but I haven't seen the replays again. It's correct according to the rules but the problem is that the refs are very selective of when to apply those rules, you either do it properly or don't bother and let the game go on. Not to mention that Jagielka wouldn't have even been on the pitch if the foul on Sterling (I think it was him) was spotted. All in all they only really deserved a point for their performance but they certainly have the right to feel robbed, the refs were very dodgy and gave very little towards Liverpool. Never seen two games on the same day with such dodgy officials.
  4. These are the same fans that would still be moaning if Arsenal had only won 1 Cup or 2 Cups during those years and haven't been in the CL for 2 years or something. There are always going to be unhappy, the key is the strike some sort of a balance and being in the CL amongst other elite clubs is that compromise. You've misunderstood. I am not diminishing anything, I was as happy as every other Chelsea fan when he won the FA Cup. I was making that comment from the view of big clubs, that is the general consensus among them. They don't go into the season thinking I want to win the FA and League Cup, if it happens then it happens. Their priority is winning the league and/or champions league, failing that their next priority is to qualify for the CL next season. As much as the players and fans love it, the big clubs wouldn't risk not qualifying for the CL just to win the FA or League Cup. There's no value to it.
  5. To expand on my post before a bit more, if they want to make the FA Cup more important then they should increase the prize money. The amount you get for winning it is barely enough to cover the wages of a championship team, never mind a PL team. The FA Cup is already dramatically overrated as it is, punishing those who qualify fairly for the 4th spot by them having to play the FA Cup winners (Not to mention that it's easier to win the FA Cup than it is to finish 4th) and then if they win have to still play matches to actually qualify for the CL is a bit much.Quite frankly I'm pleased teams don't take it seriously, just means that there's a strong possibility that we will end every season with an FA Cup. I don't understand that part, how so?Wenger isn't the only one who's made comments like this (he actually said all of this a year ago but nobody picked up on it for some reason), I don't think it's a desperate attempt at anything; It's just common sense when you are a big club. Agree with the rest but then again I don't recall Arsenal ever being in a position were they can afford to play big names in the cup because CL qualification was all but certain. I don't remember the 2007 final all too well but I can only assume that they had important league games and thought that the team he had out could do the job. Speaking of which, there have been many occasions over the years were the "reserve" teams Wenger have put out should have won their games and easily made it to semi's and even won finals (Birmingham match comes to mind) but have let him down, decisions gone against them, etc, don't think it's fair for people to imply that he hasn't tried to win them or has no ambition.
  6. Top 4 is he 3rd best thing on offer after the CL and PL. The FA Cup and League Cup aren't good enough prizes for big teams. Top 4 is the best they can aim for with the resources at their disposal. It's like a trophy in the same way that avoiding relegation is like a trophy for Wigan. You really think that if they had won a FA Cup or League Cup the likes of Fabregas, Nasri, etc would have stayed? Considering the restrictions from the board, I think he's done extremely well to get Top 4 season after season and I expect that they will get Top 4 again. Also CL is a lot more important to them than just getting players, it's the money they receive that's probably the most important thing to Arsenal. I remember reading somewhere that if they miss out on CL football it would have serious implications on their finances. There was a detailed breakdown on some Arsenal blog, wish I had bookmarked it.
  7. Well if you have intention of using Xbox Live, which is the main reason people get an Xbox to begin with, then you would be better off with a PS3 as the graphics and interface are generally better. You also need to look at exclusives for each consoles and decide which one has the exclusives that are more appealing to you.
  8. Wisdom putting in another fantastic performance for Liverpool. Mad to think how good he could possibly become.
  9. He's been their best player in the CL so far. He played very well v Malaga and was unlucky not to score, keeper making super human saves and him hitting the crossbar and got a them back into the Milan game with a goal and an assist. If it wasn't for the own goal at the end which gave Milan the win he would have single handed got them a point at the very least. I personally think Zenit are missing Danny big time, he's always been their star player in my view and he's the one who really controls everything for them.
  10. Depends on the circumstances, but it's certainly more than possible for someone to be loyal/support two teams. It's easy for me but whenever I explain it to others most don't really get it so I don't bother anymore. I was born in Portugal and followed Porto. Moved to England when I was still young and naturally supported Chelsea because of the history between the two clubs. Can't say I support one more than the other, if it wasn't for Porto I would never have got into football in the first place but Chelsea were the club that really got me to invested a lot of time and support into the sport. People say it must be hard when both teams play each other, I personally love it and wish it happened more often.
  11. Are you winding me up? It should be pretty obvious, surely? Because people are calling Busquets racist, despite written and verbal statements which state that wasn't the case, based on nothing more than than a 20 sec video which proves nothing. These are the same people that defended Terry when he was accused of racially abusing Ferdinand. Both players said that they didn't make racist comments but because one is wearing blue we take his side over someone else who is being treated the same way? We refuse to acknowledge the media when it comes to Terry but blindly accept what they tell us about Busquets? Doesn't make sense to me. That's all I meant, nothing more. Anything else you got from that quote was entirely from you, not me.
  12. I agree but this is a Torres thread. Already mentioned the rest of the team in the match thread.
  13. Why must you jump to conclusions like this? No one else has come to the same conclusion. I implied nothing of the sort and if that's what you got from that then that's your problem not mine, don't try and make me out as someone who thinks Terry is a racist. And I'm not even sure how you got to that conclusion. For that inference to be true, Busquets would have had to be proven that he was in fact being racist. And if that were the case then the above quote wouldn't even make sense. I can only assume you've misunderstood my point.
  14. He did lose the ball quite often and his dribbling was just frustrating to watch. There was a chance very early on when he could have put Hazard (I think it was him) through 1 on 1 with the keeper but decides to dribble with the ball instead. His attempts at creating just didn't work, not really his fault at times just misreading the situation. Only thing that really annoyed me was around the 12 min when Oscar went to cross the ball, Torres didn't even try to get in front of the defender. He stood still in between two defenders and expected the ball to land perfectly on his head. Everything else was down to Shaktar's good performance as proved when Sturridge came on. Although Sturridge still managed to create a chance and have a shot.
  15. Was worried at times cause he seemed to be the further of the two, which is partly the reason why Willian and Alex had so much space but overall he was very good.
  16. No, I didn't say that. I mentioned one moment were he created a chance, something Torres couldn't do. He had more touches than that, if you honestly think he only had 1 touch in the whole 15 mins then we are clearly watching different games or you are stretching your point to ridiculous lengths to back up your point.
  17. What? Of course he has, how else would he have set up Hazard for the shot?
  18. It's not a matter of being isolated, it's about doing something with the ball when you do get it. Like Sturridge just did then to set up Hazard.
  19. Why are Mikel and Ramires roles reversed? Mikel isn't protected the back 4 and Ramires is barely making any runs forward. Just as I type this they score.
  20. Actually don't think Luiz has been as bad as people are making out. Both Cole and Ivan have been a lot worse.
