300 Best Players in the World
Why 300? Seems a bit odd. I stopped at Jonny Evans, had a quick glance for Lucho Gonzalez, saw Sahin in the top 100 and Cavani ahead of Falcao and vomited furiously .

How To Use The Transfer Market.
Reason why Porto get these players for cheap is because they include high sell on clauses in most of their deals but their reputation help as well though. The third party deals are more of a hindrance for both clubs than benefit in most cases so I won't bother mentioning that. When Porto sell their players the obscure teams they came from gain a huge amount of money, more than they would have got if they had held out for a full transfer fee with no clause. I think that's a very nice gesture considering that they don't have to do that, they could quite easily spend the few extra million and get the player with no or very minimal clauses. They give back to the clubs/country which provide them with so many talented players. I know Lisandro Lopez had a huge sell on clause. James Rodriguez has a 20-30% sell on clause in his contract and if he keeps up his performances he could easily be sold for the same amount as they got for Hulk, probably even more if Porto have any sense. 20% of Hulk's fee to a team like Banfield is a heck of a lot of money, especially after they just got relegated as well. French teams like Lyon have tried to copy Porto, Benfica and Sporting but it all falls apart when it comes to the coaching. Not many teams can hold a candle to Porto, Benfica and Sporting coaches. They are among the best in the world. That's not to say they haven't been successful at all though, as someone already pointed out above Lille have made a tidy profit. For many young players signing for Porto, Benfica or Sporting is the equivalent of an 24/25 year old signing for Barcelona/Madrid, a dream come true. CL football, best coaches in the world who are truly interested in developing your talent and not to mention the experience gained from finals, playing top teams, etc. I don't think anyone else can quite pull it off the same way they do, for them, and Portugal in general, failure simply wasn't an option. The quality of the league was so poor and it didn't help that Spain were right next door either. It was the only way to save the league and now that it turned out to be so successful it's become part of the league, if you know what I mean. There's a word for that but I'm not sure. In the future teams like Braga and Maritimo will be talked about in the same breath as "The Big 3". They are already well on their way.

What happened to Malouda?
Can't we terminate his contract in January for a minimal cost? Not saying we should, just wondering is all.

What happened to Malouda?
- Falcao to Chelsea?
No he's right, The English Premier League is the pinnacle of every footballers career. Destroying teams in every league and competition/tournament he's been in does not compare scoring against Stoke on a cold rainy day.- Hulk coming to Chelsea?
Hulk could have declined but I don't see why he would/should have seeing as he made it clear that he wanted to leave and him wanting to leave was clearly affecting his performance. Obviously the money was a huge amount for Porto but Hulk didn't help matters so he can't really complain. Neither can anyone else really. He gets to leave, still play CL football and a much higher wage. Porto kept Alvaro last season when he wanted to leave, they sold him now but they would have got a lot more the season before. I know the difference between £20m+ and £40m+ is quite vast but the point is they were both key players.- Joao Moutinho
Moutinho doesn't play advanced for Porto. Lucho Gonzalez does because he hasn't got the same engine/defensive skills as Moutinho, Moutinho's job at Porto is to be the deep lying playmaker, which is what we are after. Lucho is further up the pitch and then when attacking, he generally stays in the centre and lets Moutinho get forward. Sometimes he does that, sometimes not. Like in the last match, Lucho lead the attack and Moutinho just sat back and made things happen. Only time he plays advanced is when Lucho isn't playing and that isn't very often. You're right about Portugal though but that's mainly cause everyone else is useless, Danny doesn't get called up for some reason and Moutinho has a good understanding with Ronaldo. While Strootman is clearly talented he's still has a long way to go before being anywhere near Moutinho. Moutinho has proven himself at every level possible. Getting Strootman would also get in the way of the likes of Oscar, Josh, KDB and maybe even Romeu. We have enough players with great potential, it's time to add quality players to balance things out and Moutinho is just that.- Following our nearest and dearest rivals
Del Piero looks like he's joining Southampton. Obviously not as he used to be but still a beast regardless.- QPR vs Chelsea (PL) 15/09/12 KO 15:00 BST
For someone who's suppose to be a right winger he's pretty dreadful on the right, way better on the left and I can see why he would want to play there. Would rather see; Moses - Mata - Hazard than; Mata - Hazard - Moses- August Player Of The Month ?
It should really be Michu that wins this, but I can see Hazard winning it. Tevez has been good too but not as much as those two.- Tevez or Van Persie?
Not much between them at all, whatever one can do the other can do just as well. They both have the same affect on the team and they both work hard for the team, though Tevez probably edges it in that regard. Only real difference is that Tevez is a much better dribbler but then again RVP doesn't need to do that, all it takes is a shift and a slight change of a direction and he's created tons of space for himself. RVP is also a better finisher. Not sure what you mean by team, I assumed you meant Chelsea but then you said something about a dream team. Dream team; RVP. Chelsea; Tevez.- Hulk coming to Chelsea?
Just remembered that Zenit fans are racist and the club even refused to sign black players up until recently. I can recall Bruno Alves getting some abuse. Makes this move even more stupid. Edit: As for how they got the money; Ouriel Daskal â€@Soccerissue Zenit will pay €50m for Hulk and €40m for Witsel. Gazprom, Zenit's owners, are Uefa sponsors. Seems legit.- John Obi Mikel Appreciation Thread
Because Terry, Cahill , Luiz and Ivan are better than him in the air and are already in the box. He's expected to cover them not join in, although that would be quite some sight to see.- Raul Meireles to Fenerbahce
Can't say I would be surprised if that turned out to be the case. Seems to have it in for Romeu.- Hulk coming to Chelsea?
I was convinced that they priced him way too high but fair play to them, they managed to find some chump willing to pay that much for him. Will hurt Porto a lot but they are set financially for another 3 years just from that transfer alone. Do have to question how Zenit even managed to raise that much cash, even if it is in long instalments it's still a lot for them.- Raul Meireles to Fenerbahce
If we didn't have Romeu I would be upset but we do and he's now going to get a lot more games with Essien and Raul gone. I'm fairly happy-ish.- Following our nearest and dearest rivals
Joe Allen today 74 passes 93% completion. Nuri Sahin 45 passes 93% completion. Mikel Arteta 92 passes 95% success rate. Arteta is too much. And to think most of their fans didn't want him in the first place.- QPR vs Chelsea (PL) 15/09/12 KO 15:00 BST
This is the sort of game that Oscar has to start in really, preferably in the midfield two and not upfront. Would even start Romeu too but I think Mikel would be the better choice if a fully fit QPR team is picked. If not, then Romeu or Meireles. Rest of the team picks itself really so not going to bother with that.- Following our nearest and dearest rivals
Hate to say it but Gibbs actually looks...good. Bould must have worked very hard with him.- Worst Chelsea performance before the Athletico game?
Only one I can remember very well is the Boro one so I'll go with that.- Following our nearest and dearest rivals
I think Rodgers has read too much into Borini's spell at Roma, he's not a winger. Such a waste.- Following our nearest and dearest rivals
Run from Giroud was superb. Not a fan of his but I have to admit his movement is amazing.- Following our nearest and dearest rivals
Probably going to be a boring draw or just a 1 goal in it. Liverpool would have a better chance if Gerrard wasn't in the team though. - Falcao to Chelsea?
