  1. Is that because I said he doesn't split defences with his passing or...? And I don't know what stereotype you are referring to so that would be a no.If it the passing comment then let's not get carried away, he's a good passer, reliable and composed with the ball and uses his strength to hold off players which gives him a bit more time but he's hardly an Alonso type passer which is what I was getting at.
  2. Ramires has always been a centre mid. It's where he plays best, running at players and creating tons of space for others to run into. It's no surprise that since he went out wide we have found it hard to create from the centre, what Ramires lacks in passing (I don't think it's that bad myself to be perfectly honest, it's good enough to make things happen) he makes up for in movement, pace and dribbling. Yaya Toure is hardly the sort of guy to split open a defence with a pass but he doesn't need to, he's quick, strong and his runs create so much space for the likes of Aguero, Tevez, etc. I don't think he should play together with Lampard though, he's at his best when playing with a destroyer and the closest we have to that is Romeu and Mikel.
  3. Good player but we already have enough players in his positions now and there's still others to come back from loan as well, if we were going to go back and bid again we shouldn't have bothered with Moses. It's getting too much now. I know this is probably our last big spending session but if we bring in too many players we will just drive away the young players that we are hoping will carry the team forward in the future/during the FFP and we will be back to square one but this time the FFP will be there to screw us over.
  4. Sigurdsson is more of a playmaker than VDV anyway, hardly going to lose much if he does leave which I don't think he will.
  5. Bit harsh, I mean after all they only narrowly missed out on CL. At the time, it made sense and I'm sure there were other incentives.
  6. Training fee, 5% of the transfer fee would be shared out as the training fee. 15% is the sell on clause but they will still receive their share of the 5% training fee.I don't think it was £10m? City wanted that as some sort of development fee as he came from their academy but It was something like £3m we ended up giving and with the add ons of £500k (I think) depending on the amount of games he played and an £1m international appearance fee. I'm not 100% sure how it's calculated as it seems to be done based on each individual rather than following the rules (if the set rules were followed there would have been no need a tribunal) but I don't see us being in a strong enough position to claim the same amount that City did.
  7. Not like we would get much anyway but yeah he has been at the club long enough for us to get something. We would get training compensation if he leaves for free. If he was to leave now, 5% of the fee would be shared out between Man City, Bolton and us.And like shedpensioner said, he's still on the same 4 year contract he signed with us back in 2009. Quite shocking really.

  9. He has 1 year left on his contract, unless there's some sort of automatic 1 year extension after a certain amount of games/goals that we don't know about.
  10. Would rather lose him on a free than sell him. This is similar to Arsenal and RVP. While Sturridge isn't as vital as RVP, he's still our second striker and an important player for the RW spot. There's no doubt he will get games and to me having him in the team is worth more than £15m.
  11. Would rather not face Braga. Russian teams are awful in europe so I wouldn't mind drawing them.
  12. Difference is Dembele is meant to be a striker, Mikel isn't. Mikel is more than capable of bringing the ball forward when the appropriate opportunity arises/he's given freedom to do so, it's just in most cases he doesn't have to. It's not the role he's given. If Dembele was to join, he would be playing next to Mikel not in place of him. Not sure about Essien, hasn't even been on the bench irrc. Should stop messing him around and just let him and us know where he currently stands, I hope he gets some games v mid table teams.
  13. It wouldn't be so bad if Dembele could actually shoot, he seems to buckle under pressure when he gets anywhere near the goal. Would have been able to move him further forward and even as an emergency striker. He's a good player but not needed. Too much of a good thing and all that. Not that I would mind us getting rid of Malouda and getting Dembele in return but I would rather we focused more on Romeu because he brings the same things Dembele would and is already better than Dembele in quite a few aspects.
  14. Good thing he didn't end up at Fulham like others wanted.
  15. Michu is looking class as expected really. Can't believe he only cost £2m.
  16. While Javi Martinez is a very good player, he is not a great CB. So we would be 1 CB down, with another CM/DM on our hands.
  17. I wouldn't be surprised, Johnson's attitude stinks. Once he got called up to England there was a distinct change in his attitude, it's like he felt he made it and didn't have to work hard anymore. When he does play he does nothing for the team, which would be fine if you were a good player. Then there's his drinking problems, he's more hassle than he's worth. Balotelli's attitude is more of frustration when a pass or something doesn't work out, Johnson's attitude is that of just someone who simply doesn't care. I would say Johnson's is more harmful to a team than Balotelli's.Johnson going to Sunderland is a good thing for him though, could easily have sat on the Man City bench for the rest of his contract. It's the team he supports so he's going to work a lot harder to please the fans, if they get behind him, which I'm sure they will, then he can become a very good player and will probably sort out his problems.
  18. Fantastic signing! Won't be long before he makes RB his own, can't wait. Very solid defensively, not many get the better of him. I would say it's his attacking that needs work to be honest but that's just me.
  19. I thought you guys were discussing Arsenal not getting Sahin because they are too tight to pay an extra £12k to his wages.
  20. Why do people keep posting tweets from this guy? He's a nobody.
  21. Assists are quite clearly defined and if the actual definition was adhered to you wouldn't have official sites making stupid mistakes such as that. An assist is given if the a teammate passes, crosses, rebounds of the post, deflections, freekicks, penalty kicks, pretty much anything as long as it is converted. Heck you can throw your boot at the ball and as long as the ref plays on (even though he really shouldn't) and it's converted, it's an assist. I don't see how anyone can get confused about constitutes an assist. It's why it's even more annoying when official sites get it wrong.
  22. When is Marin back? Sturridge should be starting this, their fullbacks aren't anything great when faced one on one. Don't want to see Mata or Ramires on the wing though, that would suit them.
  23. ...You can't be serious?
