  1. Not really, he's leaving mainly cause Fergie didn't play him at all. Then forced him to sign a 3 year contract with no intention of playing him. He's said before he doesn't mind being on the bench as long as he's involved in games, I would imagine he would get a lot more games here than he currently has had at United.
  2. Oh yeah, I'm a huge Porto fan and even I have doubts over the amount mentioned. Just that I think he would be the missing link that would make us serious title contenders this season and if were to win the title then it would be money well spent. Like City with Aguero. If the deal is dead then I actually think we would be better off going for Varela to be perfectly honest, that is if we were to pick someone else from Porto.
  3. I don't mean breaking down defences in terms of passing alone, if it was that easy City would have won the league ages ago. I mean in terms of digging deep, running at players and grabbing a goal. Basically being direct when everything else isn't working which is something Hulk does well.Already mentioned Hazard and Mata, not gonna repeat what I already said. Really don't see Marin being able to be as effective as Hulk is when he does that. Don't even think he's that kind of player. Oscar can pass the ball around well but I don't know if he can be as direct and win games on his own, that would be a big ask at this level.
  4. It's funny how GB's, and England for that matter, idea of possession is passing it around the CB, out to the full backs, back to the CB and then hoofing it forward trying to get Sturridge in. Sturridge was always in the right places, a better team with better players would have found him more often.
  5. Mata looks pretty good playing on the right.
  6. Would be very surprised if we got him now, lost track of how much we've spent so far. Shame too cause while we do have a bunch of new talented players most, if not all, haven't really played at a top level on a regular basis yet. They are still learning and improving and now they have to get used to a new league as well. While I hate the whole "EPL Proven", "He's too small for the EPL", etc comments, there's no denying that Hulk would have no problems with playing in the EPL. It's a league that compliments his style of play, don't think I need to go into detail as to why. He's also now become a vital part of Brazil's team so he's played at the top level (As well as regular CL matches for the past two seasons) for a while now. Then there's the fact that he's at his peak now. On paper we should do very well, title challenge even but in reality I can see us finding it hard to win games/break teams down because we don't seem to have someone like Hulk who can change games and get you that game winning goal. Hazard is capable but he's not going to be playing every match and he may even find it hard to adapt (unlikely in my view, just covering all bases). Lampard I would imagine will be spending more time on the bench, even then I don't really think he's still capable (can still set them up with his passes though, just no grantee it will be converted). Which leaves us with Ramires, can't really think of anyone else. Maybe Ivanovic from set pieces. Christ, I forgot Mata. Although that's debatable as he did fizzle out, I'll still include him though. United have people like Giggs, Scholes, Rooney, Welbeck (misses easy chances but gets you the vital goals), Nani and when he does decide he wants to play Young is more than capable too. It's why they were still able to challenge for the title despite having, arguably, a worse team than us. City have, well...pretty much their whole team. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we have such a young team with lots of talented players but you have to get the balance right. I'm assuming Roman has the next few years in mind, rather than this season, which suits me just fine. Way I see it, anything other than Top 4 with the current squad + that Spanish RB would be a bonus. Just in the league that is, still expect us to win/get the to final in the cups and a good showing in the CL
  7. FFP hasn't really kicked in yet which is why we are spending so much I would imagine. My guess is that Roman is expecting some success either in Europe or in the league which would counter the majority if not all this spending and put us in good shape leading into the FFP.The amount of English players needed is something like 8 and around only half of that has to be homegrown players. Mikel and Ivanovic are English, I think. Been here long enough to qualify anyway. Essien is English, then there are Terry, Cole, Bertrand, Cahill, Lampard and Sturridge for the homegrown. Maybe Josh too but not sure what's going on with him. So I wouldn't say we need more English players, if the right one came along then sure why not.
  8. HNNNGGGG I like it a lot.
  9. Would take finishing 5th/6th, winning the CL and FAP Cup again to be honest. But really we should be finishing in the top 4 at least, maybe even mount a title challenge if everyone around us starts to crumble. Edit: Did I really just say FAP Cup? ...I meant FA Cup, I'll blame that on it being early in the morning.
  10. Liverpool are playing their reserve team + youngsters, Roma are playing their first team.
  11. No need for them for spend big anymore. All they need is an average backup for CB and DM and they are set, could even have their youngsters fill that role if any fit the bill. Plus they generally do their business towards the end of the season.
  12. Remodez replied to a post in a topic in General Chelsea FC
He will slot in well at right wing, although Marin should really be claiming that spot as his own. Either right wing or in the pivot role next to Mikel or maybe even Romeu depending on who we play. Good thing about him is that he is very versatile so he covers lots of positions.
  13. Remodez replied to Eagle Owl's topic in Chelsea FC Rumours
Kaka didn't really want to leave, he was forced out by Milan.
  14. Might find it hard to break into the team over there, will have at least 4 players ahead of him. Still think it's a good loan though.
  15. Not really writing him off, just think that Cahill and Luiz would be better. Both good on the ball, quick and can create from the back. Terry would be best kept for the big games v the top teams when our defence will be playing deep as he can control the whole defence.
  16. Poor Swansea? They bought Michu for £2m, fantastic player. Signing of the season by far. God knows what they will do if given that amount of cash to replace Allen. Think Liverpool are getting mugged off again to be honest.
  17. Him being right sided is already implied, everyone knows that so I didn't need to mention it above. Not glossing over anything, I just don't think he's good enough. I'm not even that opposed to this transfer anymore, before I didn't want him near the team but now I wouldn't mind so much. Don't think he will ever get much better technically but I suppose every team needs a Walcott (Yes, I know he's strong too).
  18. Don't really play games apart from sports like SSX, Fifa and the odd Tennis games. I do like games based on historical wars/battles though, probably sound like an old fart but I find them really interesting.
  19. I can sort of see his point (Although for the price being quoted for M'Villa which is around £15m he's still mad for saying that), it's just the way he overrates Diaby is hilarious and boarderline insanity. They need an attacking mid/winger and if they do sign Carzola (Fantastic player, should be playing regularly for Spain and in top teams like Madrid) which is looking very likely then they would be extremely dangerous going into the season regardless of what happens to RVP.
  20. Chuck him into the first team! Get Kylian too, then we can have a front 3 of Hazards!
  21. I'm pretty sure that's the only reason to be honest.
  22. M'Villa and Oscar would be more than enough for me. In fact I think just Oscar would do, if we got M'Villa that would mean less games for Romeu. Hard to pass up on M'Villa though so not 100% sure. Oscar plays RW as well for Inter so he covers two positions. Could actually be first choice at RW (Unlikely though, I expect Marin to claim that spot with Rami and Oscar rotating depends on who we play) which would mean Sturridge would be rotated with Torres. Point is both Torres and Sturridge won't be on the pitch at the same time for most games. I don't think we need another striker/rw but it seems like we are trying to get one regardless. Edit Of course Azpilicueta as well. Forgot cause there hasn't been much of an update on him.
  23. Great player but like you said, he's not going to leave unless we offer Juve a stupid amount of cash. Inter are poor, Milan have declined and it will take a while for them to regroup, only team that can really challenge Juventus now is Roma. So yeah, I can see them winning the league for the next two years and Marchisio playing a big part in it.
  24. M'Villa available for less than £15m. Should be getting in there.
