Let's restart the speculations regarding Kaká, as he once again is said to be the target of Chelsea. While not being a given name in the starting eleven at Real Madrid and Chelsea are underperforming, the speculations of a possible transfer don't really come as a surprise. £30m is said to be the asking price, which is obviously significantly lower than the £59m paid by Real a couple of years ago.

In case of a move, he would probably inherit Lampard's position on the midfield in a slightly more attacking role. He has also got more years left at this level than e.g. Lamps, but is however not getting any younger either with his 29 years. Kaká and Torres could definetely be an interesting duo. Especially if we manage to get some money selling in January, it would probably lower the bar to go spending on another big name.

15 million would be a fair price, IMO, he is gettign no game time and he is another players who's searing pace has been a wepon through out his career. And as we have come to learn, you dont get any faster as you get older

I just dont see it happening. Too much money for him and his wages at his age. i know he has a few years left in him but for me there are other options out there that would cost less.

Agree, he'll be 30 in April. £30M for this is far too much.

No, let's not.

f**k me, we're all crying out for McEachran and Romeu to get more playing time so we talk about signing another has-been who is never going to recapture what he once had, just to block the youngsters chances further.

Agreed on the price. £30m is quite insane, to be honest, but for a compromised price he could be a superb addition to our squad. I'm also thinking £15-20m

Point, but McEachran is probably not going to be ready for a starting place yet, and Kaká is a far more attacking player than Romeu.

Not that I'd be keen to bring Kaká to Chelsea (I'm very neutral about it), but it's something worth to discuss since it'll be sooner or later all over the press anyway.

e. Very unlikely move, though, more of a bs-story by the gossip press. That's however what I thought of Torres first... The emphasis is also on could be a superb addition, he might as well turn out to be no more productive than at Real.

The thing is - based on what we are seeing week in week out McEacharn is ready for a starting place and should be starting

I hope you're right. I haven't seen enough of him to be able to judge, but if that's the case, it's one problem less going into the winter season. I obviously hope he'll get more time on the pitch.

How about a straight swap for Essien?

Two players with a history of being world class but hampered in the last couple of seasons by injury woes and poor form.

I would go with that, on the basis that I think Essien knee's are gone.

I'm sure Madrid will be really keen to exchange one f**ked player for another.

Be like trading in your 12 year old Mondeo for an 11 year old Cavalier!

More of a knackered top of the range Range Rover, for a knackered Ferrari I would say.

Hmm, you're right. The emphasis being on the knackered but more expensive to run.

Must we go through the Kaka stuff...again...? No no no a million times no. Do not want him here.

Should never have let him go. Our midfield never looked as secure since...

Agree, but he has been injured for ages. Not played that much for them, plus at some point you have to look to the future & play younger players.

Was a fantasic player and maybe still is, but only for another couple of years. Too big a risk to bring here and maybe

allow a year to settle in the Prem and then expect to get decent value out of him. Even a price tag of 10-15 is too

much of a chance and not worth holding the younger players back for.

I would love to have Kaka playing for us but only on a free loan deal. (I know Real wouldnt do that)

Paying 30m for him right now seems crazy...

To be fair to Kaka he isnt playing as bad as some people on here claim...

I was joshin', are you being serious?

I wouldn'tve have had him at his peak- good player, but not as great as many pundits would make us believe. Even at his best he was not a patch on Ronaldinho. I certainly would not have him now.
