Chelsea v Swansea (COC SF 1st Leg) 09/01/13 KO 19:45 GMT
Pretty much this, which is why I'm expecting a very tough game.

Demba Ba
In fairness he was born in France and as such is of French nationality so I don't think it was that much of a mistake.

Well deserved win by Brighton.

I like how he doesn't mention the whole Pogba ordeal. Guess the rules only apply to others, right?

They are playing some great football. Pressing high, playing in triangles all over the pitch. Only thing that's lacking is their final ball which is to be expected with the quality of players they have but it's still great to watch. First time I've seen Brighton play.

January Transfer Window 2013
Also trying to get a free Moussa Sissoko.

10 worst signings
He was very solid from what I remember, which is why I don't understand it either. Plus we got the majority of our money back when we sold him at the end of the season. I can only assume it was because he wasn't the left back people wanted because his performances on the pitch were top notch.

Southampton Vs Chelsea (FA Cup) 5th Jan 2013 15:00 GMT
I'm assuming Southampton are going to play a weak side, if that's the case I would definitely start Ake.

Sorry but there's no way on earth Kaka should be mentioned in the same token as Torres. Kaka has put in solid performances over the past 2 seasons (Was just as good as Ozil last season when they won the title, if not better depending on who you ask). Torres on the other hand has done f**k all for 2 seasons and is probably on similar wages.

Our Youth on Loan
Lalkovic has been disappointing from what I've seen.

Don't agree with those who have Zhirkov on their list, he was a very good winger/midfielder played at left back, which while is a position he could play was quite clearly not his strongest. He also played well for us during quite a few European matches. Think people are being harsh on Del Horno too but it's more understandable I guess.

I'm I the only one who would start Ake?

Random Rumours
Yeah, you're right. Probably cost around the same too.

January Transfer Window 2013
Southampton on for Astori, fee already agreed apparently Very good signing for them if it goes through, he already has experience in an awful defence so he should fit right in.

Random Rumours
All I know is that he's one of La Liga's top players, would slot in very nicely in the role currently occupied by Luiz, Very much in the Strootman/Moutinho mould. No idea if he's worth that much though, barely watch Betis and the bit I saw isn't really enough to judge.
-
Marquinhos
Seemed to have replied to myself there in the first bit but that was in response to Scott.

Marquinhos
I didn't say he was the best, I said at the moment which he quite easily is. He's in great form at the moment. At the moment? No doubt he is. True, which is partly why I said we should wait till the end of the season so a proper evaluation can be made.

January Transfer Window 2013
Holtby to Spurs by the looks of it. Yet another great signing by AVB.

Frank doesn't even WANT to go!
Sorry but I find that incredibly hard to believe.

January Transfer Window 2013
As if he would ever seriously think about joining a team bottom of the league with barely any wins, unless he's a huge fan of championship football the rumour never made sense to start with.
-
Marquinhos
Quite easily the best CB in Serie A at the moment and he's only 18, not to mention new to the league. Definitely someone we should keep our eyes on. Wouldn't say no but then again we already have quite a few good young CB's. Plus I would rather wait till the end of the season to see if he can keep his form up.

Worst result all season?
For me it was Atletico Madrid because it was a match I really wanted us to win. Not so much the result per say though, it was how naive we were and the way we set up going into the match was just awful. It was as if RDM or whoever is in charge of scouting oppositions didn't even bother to watch a match of theirs and figured it would be a cake walk with an unchanged team. No adjustments in tactics whatsoever, you could tell as soon as the starting line up was announced that we would struggle to get anywhere near their goal (And that was only from me watching a handful of their matches beforehand). A truly embrassing European performance in my view. Worst league result has to be last night though, everything was just awful.

Micah Richards
To me, he is a better CB than Richards and has a lot more potential. If Richards is been looked at for fullback then I wouldn't complain too much as long as he doesn't get in Bruma's way. He played 4 games and looked head and shoulders better than everyone else before he got injured, lost his place at HSV and Netherlands and is only now getting back into the setup by playing U21 matches for Netherlands and fullback for HSV.

Micah Richards
Isn't even better than Bruma, why bother.

Chelsea vs QPR (PL) 02/01/13 KO: 19:45 GMT
The players should be well aware that they shouldn't take any games for granted do they need their hands holding for that point to be made? They are professionals and should go out there and do a professional job. The players all train together, making changes should not result in a performance like that, against QPR of all teams, and if that is the case then there's a real problem; we can't be expected to play Mata and/or Hazard every single match, what happens if they get injured? I would be more understanding if Lampard wasn't playing as there would have been no one to lead but that wasn't the case, and really even if he wasn't playing the team put out had more than enough quality to see the game out. I agree that they both shouldn't have been rested but saying that they were both poor last match so I can see why they were benched. In my view, there was nothing wrong with the team selection, the tactics however were questionable.
