  1. I had to do it, and vote for Ashley Cole. His defence was superb, and so were his forward runs.
  2. Of course, the only bad thing about today was that we had to play extra time, and I am sure SAF is smiling to himself about our upcoming game on Saturday. I hope we can bounce back and make ManU work for the Premier League title, and pounce on any mistake they make in their last two games.
  3. I guess Drogba has to be MOM, but Ashley Cole was immense out there, and deserves kudos.
  4. Crazy game. What was Babel's goal, 40 yards out? Should have been stopped by Cech, but Chelsea never does anything the easy way.
  5. That was supposedly the first penalty given against ManU for the entire Premier League season. WTF? Based on that, I guess SAF feels that his players never concede penalties. I wrote a response a few weeks ago about ManU not conceding a penalty and not having a player sent off, and I think I was correct about those two things. No wonder they top the table when that happens.
  6. What's your point, Just? If a player does not want to play for Chelsea, then people have a right to be angry at him when he does not play well in a game, or when he whines a bit too much. The fact that Chelsea will suffer due to Drogs not being hear next year is a no-brainer, but that is not because Chelsea is doing anything to keep him from playing here, but rather because Drogs wants to got whevever JM will be managing next season. I will miss Drogs, but I will have to get over the fact that he does not want to play for Chelsea after this season. In the States, players (football, basketball, baseball) don't have the power that they seem to have in Europe, whereby if they don't want to play for a team, they have the ability to move to another team fairly easily. I kind of like it the way they have it in the States, to be frank.
  7. Just, the problem is that Drogs does not want to play hear next season, so who is to blame for that??? Duh, the answer is Drogs.
  8. I think Valim's ratings were good. Mike O's were made by someone who was smoking whacky weed. Malouda was competent out there, and to rate him a 1, and to rate him lower than Joe Cole who was terrible, is beyond reproach.
  9. Very intelligent statement. The ref was not intimidated one bit by the Anfield crowd.
  10. I thought Malouda was very good out there, much better than Joe Cole. As to JT, his poor header led to the Pool's goal -- yes, Maka was at fault and moreso Lamps, but JT was in that mix of the Keystone Kops defence.
  11. Credit to our away fans -- they were loud and proud.
  12. How many times can you say that JT was our worst defender out there? Not many, but this game was one of those times. Shocking defending from him at times, and 80% responsible for Pool's goal.
  13. I voted Cech, since he saved us a few times. But it was close in my opinion, since I thought Malouda had a wonderful game, and deserved some credit.
  14. Qaz, for Barn's sake (and probably a few others), why don't you edit your title to "I feel deep in my bones that we will lose", and opposed to the title you currently have?
  15. I believe that saving penalties is akin to making foul shots at basketball -- it is all about confidence, and if you don't have it, then you are out of luck.
  16. Oh, you are right, but he did get a lot of touches and had a nice shot on goal.
  17. I am one of the biggest Malouda bashers on the forum, but I must say that he looked very good out there for the 20 minutes or so that he played in the 2nd leg against the Turks.
  18. Yes, but people forget that Ambrosio was very, very weak in that "game that must not be mentioned" in Monaco, and with any other keeper between the sticks we probably would have won that game.
  19. They got a raw deal from the referee, no doubt about that. That was not a penalty. I am a bit mad about that, since I have no worries that we would have spanked Arsenal to reach the CL, but Liverpool is quite a different kettle of fish that really worries me.
  20. Just think if it was us who had that horrible penalty called against us at the 89th minute. Arsenal has a right to be seething right now. Perhaps it puts the goal-no goal controversy with Gallas in the back seat.
  21. How come no one has posted anything concerning Carlo's injury, since that seems to be a very important injury for our team right now? Nothing against Hilario, but he is our third-string keeper.
  22. Come to think of it, I have two questions. 1) How many red cards or second yellow cards have the Mancs had this season? I cannot remember one. 2) How many penalty decisions have gone against them this season? I can only remember one.
  23. What's this with a penalty miss? Was this when it was 2-1?
