  1. Geez, Rooney Baby looks like he has Downs Syndrome.
  2. Disagree about Riley. Could he have called a penalty against Van de Saar? Perhaps, but I think a no-call was the correct call. The "ending" was a bit weird, but we got the bulk of the calls, and Riley was not afraid to dish out the yellows to those whining Mancs, like Shrek and Evra.
  3. Who voted for Anelka? I voted for Bosingwa, since he was all over the place today. Kalou a close second, with Lamps and A. Cole third for third.
  4. Probably a just result, but we had the better chances to pull it out in the end. Joe Cole had a nightmare of a game, and Anelka was not far behind him. I just love Bosingwa, though. Pure class.
  5. Did you see Malouda challenging for every ball? It was 180 degrees opposite from his play last year, and it was great to see. I am starting to warm to him too.
  6. Agreed. Especially at the mid-field line, it seemed to me to be no way that could have been a red card.
  7. I have to echo Lofty's comments. However, Bosingwa, J. Cole, A. Cole, Franky, Deco, and even Malouda were brilliant out there.
  8. For a non-Britisher, watching the odds change from day to day with respect to the next Chelsea manager is a bit weird. Do you Brits bet on anything and everything? Do they allow bets on when a famous old person will die? I don't know, it just seems a bit untoward to allow such bets, even if one argues that they are sports-related (I think that is a stretch, since betting on a game result is much different than betting on who will be the next manager or whatever). I guess betting is deep into the British culture.
  9. The Scousers have won the CL five times, so I guess they can be proud of that achievement -- why not stick it in the face of ManUre supporters? I kind of like it when they do it, especially when coke-head Fowler did his '5 fingers' at Old Trafford.
  10. Perhaps so. All I see over here are plastic fans anyway, but the ManU ones are the worst, as they cannot even name anyone on their team outside of Rooney and Ronaldo, and that just makes me fume.
  11. I know that I am in the minority on this one, but my favorite album is "License to Ill", by the Beastie Boys. It has stood up over the 20 years or so since it came out, and it is very, very funny to listen to. Any album that has "White Castle" (hamburger joint in NY) in about half of its songs is a treat.
  12. I hate them too. I consider their fans much worse than Scouse fans, but I am in the States, so maybe that has something to do with it. And to hear SAF whine and whine whenever something goes even moderately bad for his club (heaven forbid, a penalty decision goes against them, which happens only 1% of the time), it makes me want to puke!
  13. My thoughts exactly. I kind of liked having Chelsea being liked by others, unlike the JM years where we were detested by everyone else as being ultra-arrogant.
  14. Now I feel bad, if it was that close.
  15. I heard that too, but it seemed to me to be a clear dive, whereby Malouda tripped himself and made it look like he was fouled. They showed it on replay, and Ferdinand does not appear to touch him.
  16. I don't think JT's shot hit the post, seemed like it missed by 5 yards or so. I still wonder about Evra's goal, and how it got past Cech, who seemed to be at the right spot at the right time.
  17. They showed that on replay, and it was a clear dive. Embarrasing, to be honest.
  18. But a little luck was on our side. How the hell did Giggs' shot not go in? He had to hit it in the only place where JT could head it out. A great save, but still, very bad luck for Giggs.
  19. I was thinking that if they called that, it would have been an indirect free kick. At least that was my impression. The linesman was waving his flag for such a call.
  20. A. Cole for me. He was solid throughout, and made his penalty.
  21. Good point, Mike O. The ref is only human, and if I was the ref and had to listen to JC's tirades, I would have ruled against him every time, and that was exactly what happened. There is a psychological aspect to the game, and our players are lacking in that respect.
  22. I was cheering when Evra took his kick just prior to JT's kick. I thought for sure that Cech had it, and it was over right there and then. But, ..., somehow it got through Cech. They did not show a replay of Evra's kick, but it boggles my mind how it made it to the net. JT's was just bad luck, with his plant foot slipping right when he kicked. I am not mad or angry, since we put in a good performance all around.
  23. Come on, ElNino, you can't hate Everton, even if you are a Liverpool fan. Moyes is such a nice guy, and I am sincere when I say that. As to my hates, well, it has to be ManUre, followed by Bayern Ratmunchen, then Barca.
