Never gave us anything. No complaints about Drogba's red but every 50/50 decision went against us.

He f..ked us over twice now.

He was a piece of work for sure, but we had the chances, and didnt manage to take them

We shouldve gone for the kill when we had them

But second guessing is easy

don't go down this path boys....we lost this match, not the ref. he did well to call out Ronaldo for diving once, and he called fouls pretty evenly. blame Drogba for getting sent off, blame the post for denying several chances, blame Essien for not putting his shot on net, blame Terry and Anelka for missing the PKs, blame Cech for not stopping more PKs, but please don't blame the ref. it just starts to get whingy and petulant if you go down that road.

United didn't win this match, we lost it.

And all you heard on ITV, predictably was "and Chelsea are doing a LOT of complaining". Manc bar steward.

To be honest that is about right because most of the decisions that went against us were the linesmans call - the amount of corners we weren't given in the 2nd half was farcical but it was the lino who should have given them. The ref did pick up on Ronaldo's dive which is credit to him but he should have then booked him for it but that would have made no difference.

One day we'll wake up and realise that we don't do ourselves any favours with our behaviour on the pitch and some refs will react to it, as happened tonight.

First half and Makalele gets himself booked for moaning about a bloody decision that has gone his way, FFS. Joe Cole loses it time and time again as does Ashley, Ballack, JT etc etc. We surround the ref and intimidate him on countless occasions and then there's the stupid bust up in extra time.

We were the team that looked like a bunch of whingeing tossers tonight

Yes, we were hard done by in the main, but they way we react to an injustice seems to promote more decisions against us. Wake up!

BTW, reacting angrily to a ref's decision does not make you 'passionate'. It makes you 'thick'.

Leaving that aside, our footie tonight was sometimes brilliant and Makalele, in particular, was imperious. Never seen him play so well.

Love you Chelsea, blue till I die.

Good point, Mike O. The ref is only human, and if I was the ref and had to listen to JC's tirades, I would have ruled against him every time, and that was exactly what happened. There is a psychological aspect to the game, and our players are lacking in that respect.

I was thinking that if they called that, it would have been an indirect free kick. At least that was my impression. The linesman was waving his flag for such a call.

We were baffled at that moment. The linesman starts waving his flag, then stops. Were we given advantage? Did the linesman change his mind? Still confused about that episode.

I think he played advantage, as Joe Cole was on his feet in the box in possession. You're unlikely to win a pen if you stay on your feet even if someone has nearly taken your head off.

Mind you, if you're Chelsea you don't get a pen even when when someone does kick your head in in the 6-yard box....(stop and reflect on the blood JT has shed for this club 346.gif)

There was also th Malouda non penalty Ferdinand clearly caught hem yet nothing given.

They showed that on replay, and it was a clear dive. Embarrasing, to be honest.

Sorry - I didn't really notice the ref - which means he was doing his job.....

Come on - let's not clutch at straws. We lost on pens, that's all. Get over it guys. Please, please don't let's have another bitter 'what the ref did/didn't do' scenario. I don't think I can stand it.

Good post Mike O

Particually this bit...

The problem I had with the ref, if you rewatch the game, is that on numerous occasions he overuled the linesmen decisions while they were signaling fouls and corners and had a much cleaner look of the play. I know we should not play the blame game, but somtimes it just gets on my nerves that all the decisions go against us.

We were denied a couple of stone wall corners, and had one given against us that was a clear mis shot by Ronaldo. Ok nothing came of them, but two corners means two set pieces down in their end, and you just never know! one was Evra kicking the ball out to deny Joe cole any further posession. The other was late in the game, where the lino gave the corner, and the ref over-ruled it.

Again, I can't blame the ref for all that went down tonight, but had we gotten those two corners, two set pieces, you just never know

With our corners, you do....sadly.

The refree didnt do us any favour, but what about the old c*nt Fergie blatantly intimidate the refree before the second half? It was a disgraceful act of influencing refree during game, yet everyone looked the other way. To add insult the injury, the old c*nt still had the balls to claim ' we deserved it'..

it was the constant overruling of the correct linesman that made me so angry. also fergusons talking him up in half time has got to be sorted out. LM had the guts to tell everybody about things like that, it only cost him money but i lovedhim for saying the truth.

The ref was an absolute w**ker!! Soooooooooo many mistakes, and much worse then the game against Liverfool. Few examples:

- Giving Maka the yellow, when it was clear that Scholes should've got the red

- Taking the abuse from Fergie during HT and not doing anything about it...If that was Jose, he would've been off

- I counted...in the last 20 mins-ish he gave Man U at least 4 throw-ins which were clearly not, 2 corners as well which were not...and failed to give us 2 corners when they clearly were

- No complaint about Drogba red...but, if that is red then Tevez tackle on Maka should've been "roommate for 6 months with Burton" :)

All in all, an awful performance by the Slovak!!!
