I have always likened the League Cup to a condiment like ketchup. It is great to compliment a dish i.e an FA Cup or League Title, but on its own, you're just eating ketchup.

I, reluctantly, voted Frank Lampard. Only because I think it would be a real shame if JT didn't finish his career at Chelsea and end it as a one-club man. Obviously Frank can't do that. Also I think Frank would do really well in the US and people might be able to appreciate him more as player if wasn't wearing a Chelsea shirt. I know I appreicated Beckham more as player once he left Man Utd. But neither would be the preferred outcome obviously.

I am not sure that we will have a star on our Premier League kit though, We may only have it for Champions League games. I think I read that somewhere anyway.

A bit out of the loop when it comes to Sky television, seems like a good show. Apart from that presenter. What. A. Muppet.

I just about remember it as the Coca-Cola Cup, the Worthington Cup and the Carling Cup. Will have to just call it the League Cup I reckon. Capital One Cup? Just ridicolous.

Hopefully England pull out a demolition job on this one, would give me a good amount of satisfaction consider the amounts of 'Scottish' living here.

I watched an old England DVD I have (qualifers for 2002 World Cup) and my word, what a player Beckham was. Didn't see it at the time as I had my ABU glasses on and was too young to appreciate, but he was head and shoulders above the rest. Would've been worth taking him for set piece delivery alone, and I don't think fitness would be too much of an issue. Michah Richards is a waste of an overage sport to be honest. If you weren't going to take Beckham, put Lamps in instead.

His side at West Brom was pretty attacking and free flowing. If we can play similarly and keep it solid at the back (particuarly at set pieces), we could do well. The signings we have made (and are rumored to make) would suggest a fairly attacking ethos.

Why Lukaku?
