  1. Jose is Jose and will always call it like he sees it and I for one agree with him. The real issue ambro is whether you've: (i) already sacked him; (ii) are going to sack him? enlighten us.
  2. Brian it couldn't have been scripted better if we'd tried - imagine the stick he'll get in just over a week at Emirates from all and sundry if Whinger plays him.
  3. Unlike some I haven't been Paulo's greatest supporter & the 2 Paulo camps positions have been oft documented on here for a while. But credit where it's due - Paulo was pretty effective last night & 2 games in 4 days have, imo, done his confidence wonders. True it is is that Benitez's selection of Bolo was, as it turned out, a major miscalculation but that is no criticism of Paulo - after all you can only play against your opposing number whoever it may be. Bet ya Essien is back for Anfield though as I thought Maka had a blinder last night and worked pretty well with Mikel. Benitez was a fool not playing Sisoko - let's hope he makes the same mistake again next week.
  4. 2K that was quite a game & luck was on our side for sure thanks to one P Cech. You certainly outplayed us in the 2nd half and for pure adrenaline it must be judged as one of the better FA semis in recent years. Must second all the above - unlike some, you're welcome here anytime because you've usually got something decent to say and you're pretty objective: Can only hope that you don't lose Hughesy anytime soon (and certainly not to us !!) & that you get back into Europe very soon.

  6. JT won't want to miss this. He'll play.
  7. Yeah, Wenger is of course right: Alex scored 2 beautiful goals (being of course the only goals) - clearly the best player on the night...don't talk about the other stats: possession, attempts, field position, number of passes, playing at home etc. etc. cos' that'd just reveal the obvious that not one Arse player could find the back of the net in over 3 hours of football. What's that immortal Tom Waits line: Could never tell a lie cos' he never told the truth.... (or something) Wenger is indeed priceless, an ornament to the game.
  8. Surely (apart from the obtuse) the last few weeks is hardly a surprise for the Arse. At least I don't think it is based on an objective evaluation of the capabilities of their squad at present and the huge difference between the attitude shown on the park from their squad in 02/03/03/04 and the way they scored goals during that period versus their current malaise: knocking balls around interminably and having disdain for the use of your head may appeal to the aesthetes/press/chels haters for a time but it's hardly good business in the long run. What is most comical however was the way the press (being the conga line of suckholes that they mostly are when it comes to the Arse) lapped up the 2 wins over Pool in the Cups as some sort of vindication of their tiresome opinions that aesthetics in football is somehow way more important than consistent results and, hey, look what happens if you play this laissez/dutch/hungarian/youthful fare all the time: You get lots of goals and we all get to enjoy the way the game should be played, get to go home and watch Disneyland and all live happy ever after in the safe knowledge that the great Arsenal are doing the hard yards and preparing the callow blimey youth for country glory ahead etc. etc. etc The reality of course is that the 2 results against Pool were total aberations when considered against the way the Arse has been playing for more than 2 years now and that there must, on any objective evaluation, be some serious soul searching going on in Nth London at the moment as to what the immediate future holds. Sure, they'll be either 3rd or 4th come May and they'll get to play CL again next year but at least for me, the abject and embarrassed, even fearful looks on Wengers and the other Arse staff's faces in the 2nd half said it all really. Now I wonder what fresh excuses the press are going to make of this now?!?
  9. How right you are, how right you are!
  10. ...followed by yet another anecdote about Loz's sensitive crimes in a punt with a chap called Norman...
  11. Ozboy, here's my take: Manure have (apart from Bolton) a relatively easy ride for their remaining matches at home. On the assumption that Bolton can get a draw at OT and Manure win their other 5 home matches, then they pick up 16 points at home. Manure away is to my mind, very different: They have to play the pool and us, not to mention the derby and they also have the Goodison, Pompey and Fulham fixtures. Obviously we and the pool have to win against Manure. In that event and the in the event that Manure draw 1 and win 3 against the others, or, even better, draw 2 and win 2 away then they pick up only 8 or 10 points away. In consequence Manure would finish on 88 or 90 points. Now, as far as chels is concerned, and on the assumption that we win 5 of our remaining games at home (leaving the manure fixture to one side for the moment), we will pick up 15 points at home. As far as our away fixtures are concerned, I reckon we have a relatively easy run (apart from the Arse). On the assumption that we win 5 out of those 6 away games and at least draw with the arse, then we pick up 16 points. In the event of all of the above, we are on 88 points (with the Manure result still in the mix). If we win that game, obviously we win the comp. If a draw, then, sh*t.......... it gets a bit hard to work out but it must be bloody close We simply have to beat Manure at the Bridge, hope the pool do the same at Anfield, hope Manure draw at least once whilst on the road with the others and that we take maximum points against all the others (including the arse). In other words, piece of cake. Have some faith.
  12. Well red robed moll or whoever you are, it'll be 5 points gap again in another few hours, and we'll all be waiting (?!?) with baited breath for your next exciting instalment which will, no doubt, provide all and sundry with yet another boorish, bathetic and mostly historicist diatribe on how you have the best supporters, yours is the greatest club ad nauseum. You see most of us here have a healthy respect for LFC's achievements over the years and even some of their more respectful, even handed, knowledgeable and non-disengenuous supporters who (very) occasionally grace these pages. Unfortunately, and based on your recent posts, you don't meet any of the aforementioned criteria. In fact you've revealed yourself to be yet another (and sadly typical) scarlet tart. Most of us can only hope that Barca will teach you a lesson so that we won't have to put with more of the vainglorious ramblings and wildly nonsensical predictions that always emanate from the likes of you throughout every season. You'll be welcome back on these pages when you win the league. That should at least give you enough time to get a sense of perspective. Until then WDYJFO.
  13. Yeah..goal difference...cruel outcome My take: 1 United 90 (GD - 54) 2 Chels 90 (GD - 39) 3 Arse 83 4 Liverpool 78 5 Bolton 64 17 Sheff 33 18 Spam 33 19 Charlton 29 20 Watford 23 Say it ain't so!

Jt won't play. What's the weather doin in London at present?
  16. If we can get adidas to design a straight jacket jersey for Boula, I feel that he still may have his uses at LB given that Paulo/Geremi debacle in recent times.
  17. This is really depressing
  18. Hilario for me cos........ no-one else has voted for him, he needs our blessings and I think he's done a pretty good job in the circumstances (apart from letting that bloody goal in against the arse).
