Are all words that I feel cannot come close to describe how I feel at the moment.

In the first half you probably should have wrapped it up, I was glad to go in at only 1-0 down. however I felt that in the second half I thought we were the better team, our downfall to me seemed to be with the tactics in extra time it seemed that we were playing for penalty's. the good work we showed in the second half seemed to disappear. It was only when Ballack got the last goal did we start to pressure you again.

At the start of the game I honestly thought that you would humiliate us, perhaps not a cricket score line but not far off it. by the end of 90 mins i realised that this wasn't going to happen and almost believed that we might have a slight chance, but come the first half of extra time deep down knew that we would loose.

All i can say is congratulations, all the best and fingers, crossed that you beat the red scum, in the final, league and (both of them) in the champions league.

I could sit here and moan about the referee, linesmen etc... but ultimately at the moment all i feel is "some days you're the pigeon some days your the statue"

In my oppinion you played really well. The 2nd half was all yours and it was mostly thanks to Cech that we managed only to concede one goal.

I applaud the way Blackburn fought and played! clap2.gif

Btw. I hope Savage is back soon. I really like that player icon_wink.gif

Cheers! I hope we do just that. 128.gif

Nice one 2k, best of luck for the rest of the season - if you show that sort of spirit week in week out, Blackburn have a good future.

Jose said that, after a game like that, your elation is mixed with thoughts for the losers. Obviously that never applies when you play L'pool, Manure, Arse or Spuds, but it does apply today because you came incredibly close to winning.

Attn all Chelsea fans on this forum:

2k (or Mike as WE know him) is a dyed in the wool Rovers fan who loves his team with a passion as we all do the Chels', he has enjoyed joining our forum for a few months now and his love for his team is only equalled by his loathing of all things Manc, scouse, spuds & Burnley (the last one is a local thing with him), he was in the pub for the game, we shook hands before the game and with about 5 minutes to go and the scores at 1-1 he turned to me and said "don't know about you but I am starting to feel a bit sick", well yes mate, I was feeling a bit like that myself at that stage, and can safely say I haven't had that feeling for quite a while now.

At the end after we had won, I saw the look on his face it was that look that we have all known down the years as Chelsea fans, the name of this thread sums it up perfectly, and in our moment of joy it was impossible not to feel for the guy.

Mike! you are a true sporting gent, Rovers will have their day and when it comes you enjoy it mate, and it's a genuine pleasure to have a true fan like you as a regular in my pub, see you for a pint later.

431.gifhappy0034.gif PS: please do not give this guy any grief he deserves better than that, cheers.

2k has been around a while and is a welcome visitor so I'm sure he won't get grief.

He seems like a decent fella. His hate for the Scousers and Mancs really makes it that much easier to like him. icon_lol.gif

Fair play to you mate for coming on hear when you must be feeling pretty low. I fear for your cat if you have one!!!

You can be very proud of your team today. That's probably of little consolation to you now, but I must admit in that second half, I thought we were heading out the cup - you really had us on the rack.

I guess it's payback time since Mourinho took charge, 'cos I can recall a long run of games back in the 90's when we never seemed to beat you lot.

No I wouldn't dream of having a go. I can understand how I'd feel in the same situation. Similarly, listening to Mark Hughes's post-match intervie on Sky Sports News, I could well understand his disappointment. In the first half, we were by far the better team but as half time approached, our early dominance had all but evaporated. And in the second half we were second best. Extra time could have gone either way and I'm actually grateful it went our way. And no I wouldn't be anywhere near as fair if we had been playing the likes of the Arse, T*tt*nh*m, or any of the other usual suspects.

I feel for you, I really do. I still am not sure how Gamst Pederson missed that wide open header. Anyway, Blackburn was a deserving semifinalist, and their future looks very bright.

i hope you can keep bentley, hes a future gem, that one..

freidel also has been excellent for you, i use both players in my dream teams, and sometimes even a little savage love to boot ;)

great game, before it kicked off, i thought it was our first major stumbling block in the cup and even had a bad feeling we might go out, all i can say is cracking game, you played blindingly in the 2nd..

dont feel too bad mate anyway, i reckon youll have euro glory soon - when samba smartens up and you get a savage/tugay replacement..

Yeah , fair play to ya 2K, you come across as an honest decent bloke , not because you wished us well , but because you see the game for what it is and obviously love football , regardless of rivalry .

I thought we'd lost because the idea of penalties didnt appeal to me . Our keeper really won it for us .

At least you gave us a game .

I can loan you a blue scarf for the final if ya want icon_lol.gif

2K that was quite a game & luck was on our side for sure thanks to one P Cech.

You certainly outplayed us in the 2nd half and for pure adrenaline it must be judged as one of the better FA semis in recent years.

Must second all the above - unlike some, you're welcome here anytime because you've usually got something decent to say and you're pretty objective: Can only hope that you don't lose Hughesy anytime soon (and certainly not to us !!) & that you get back into Europe very soon.

I thought we were going to pay the price for not killing you off in the first half, once sheva missed i just new you were going to get one, although it was nothing more than you deserved for the way you played second half. I know having just lost a semi its not what you want to hear but you can take a lot of pride from you teams effort. A lot of credit should go to Sparky and his players.

Its funny how often that happens during a game that having fought their way back into the match and drawn level they seemed to take their foot of the gas a bit when going for the winner with us rattled would have been better.

There's no reason Blackburn cant challenge for Europe next season.

Good luck.

What a bunch of fairies! Half the fun of winning is rubbing it in FFS! Bloody modern day sportsmanship. Bah!

With that in mind. In your face 2k Duncandares.gif

Just kidding mate. Blackburn looked a decent side and it was good to see that they've continued to improve under Hughesy. That was a game that could have gone either way if ever there was one. Gutted for you but chuffed for us (obviously).

Staring at that for a long time has a kind of hypnotic effect! It's like wtahcing your washing going round in the tumble dryer!

It's a fair facsimile of Katznutz during the Victory Parade last season. I would have said Bluebeard but it doesn't have a beard.....yes I know BB doesn't anymore either. I wasn't sure whether to post that one or this....

let me know what you think? icon_wink.gif

Cheers for all the nice comments.

Well today is another day and i'm getting over the disappointment, not only with the match but also the fact that if we played more like we did yesterday against other teams this season I would think that we would be much higher up in the league but hey ho.

It made a really nice change to read good comments in the papers, and it was nice that the sun gave Cech got star man, which must mean something.

Tonight i'm trying to cheer myself up with a curry which is a step in the right direction.

Cheers for your comments John (Fansince65) i don't think i have heard anyone say anything remotely as nice about me icon_eek.gif though you did miss out my hatred for Arsenal though icon_lol.gif (it was Fansince65 that introduced me to this site so it's him you have to blame!)

Anyways, i'm sure John will lend me a Chelsea scarf for the FA cup final, the CL final and when you beat the bar stewards to the league as well! Anyways i'll stop moaning now and try to be gracious, congratulations on beating us, and for a neutral what a match it was!

That sentence on it's own says more about Our Style Of Play this seaon than anything else. Just about every team we ever play raises their game against us, just as your lot did yesterday, just as Watford did the week before, and just as (no doubt) West Ham will do on Wednesday night. Not that I want to add any more to your disappointment, but that really is the way it is. And what's worse is that we get blamed for it!

Do we though, perhaps other teams do but this year you have beaten us 0-2 and 3-0 in the league 0-2 in the league cup.... This is why i was expecting for you to pummel us on Sunday. It was might have been more due to the occasion than you as opponents that we were able to raise our game, but i don't know.... *sigh* anyways i got over it now.....

please beat the mancs! 128.gif

Nice to have you on our side icon_wink.gif

Not sure about the other games between the two sides. Maybe Sparky thought he could take us on and paid the price? The occasion certainly helped your lot raise their game, but without being arrogant, for a lot of clubs, games against Chelsea are their Cup Final. It's nothing new, the Mancs had to put up with it, now it's our our turn after winning the Premiership back to back.
