UEFA has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Chelsea FC, Didier Drogba and José Bosingwa in relation to incidents following the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against FC Barcelona at Stamford Bridge.

Statements requested

The club are charged with the improper conduct of their players and the throwing of missiles by their supporters, while Drogba and Bosingwa are accused of being in breach of the principles of sportsmanship by insulting the referee by making offensive comments. The club and the individuals concerned have been requested to file a statement by Friday 29 May. The UEFA Control & Disciplinary Body will deal with the case on 17 June.

thats pretty ridiculous though, considering what certain other countries fans get away with. so if you stab fans, kill fans and generally cause mayhem you get a european cup final. yet if your an english club that throws a few things after being robbed of a final you get done for it. yeah, thats fair.

This is the first ive heard about missles from the fans. I think its funny that Bosingwa is getting charged after speaking hotheadedly, and Ballack is getting away with no punishment.

you said it. Its not really done in the interest of the sport, more just to make an example of us after what happened. Theyre more concerned about Drogba acting like an idiot on tv than they are about a final in city rife with sporting violence against supporters.

hmm, another conspiracy of some means why Ballack got away with it and Bosingwa gets done for it.

UEFA are a corrupt bunch of cowboys and they can stick their competition up their ass!

Be prepared to watch more dodgy tactics next week in the final cause obviously they would have picked the winner already.

One is Portugals right-back who opened his mouth in the press.

The other is skipper and ambadassor for a major force in European football, and is also the golden boy of Addidas, who chased the referee the length of the pitch harrasing him.

Look out for a Utd player to get sent off with about 30 minutes to go. I'd say Rooney, Vidic or Van der Sar.

Lehman got sent off last time Barca won it

Thats the first i heard about missles being thrown. It reminds me of barca saying thers players got abused by the stewards in 2005 excuses excuses just trying to add to the list against us. Sky Sports got Drogba into trouble when Drogba said what he said the first time you could,nt hear him curse but sky played it again within seconds up full volume they knew that would get Drogba into massive trouble I hate the media so much. Well dont really care what uefa throw at us they can stick the champions leauge i want the premiership back.

Exactly mate, couldn't agree more.

The whole thing is just sh*t.

Bosingwa is in trouble for comments he made to Portuguese television station RTP after the game.

"I don't know if he's a referee or a thief," said Bosingwa at the time. "I don't have any words to describe that man that was on the pitch."

So players can't say what they think anymore, but it's okay for ref's to say whatever they think about a player! (Remember Poll)

The reason why comments like this are frowned upon by UEFA is that it goes against their corruption. If a player says something like this, it draws attention to it and issuing a charge makes them look like they are doing the right thing, thus making the player look bad. How dare someone go against their honesty!

Platini is a c**t of the highest order. The ref isnt punished whereas Howard Webb got punished in a Euro 08 game. For how long will this war with English continue ?

I just hope even if this results in a game ban, I wish it is limited to Group stages only as we have many chances to recover even if we lose a game. Moreover, we will be having back ups too for both of them.

I'd love to see the club come out with all guns blazing in defense of it's self and the club, maybe even to suggest publicly what we all know to be the truth - that it was a stitch up. And F*k the consequences.

No surprises here really.

UEFA want to stick the knife into both us and English football, and we're the perfect opportunity to do so.

I'm predicting a 5 game ban for Drogba, a 3 game ban for Bosingwa, and a £75,000 fine for the club.

If the club is fined £75,000 Roman should arrange for it to be delivered all in pennies in a dumper truck.

when will the club charge uefa for being f*cking useless and having a biased agenda?

i know it would only be fantasy and would make matters worse but imagine if roman got the best lawyers that money could buy to fight uefa i reckon they would sh*t thereselfs well i can only dream.

I'd like them to try and find video evidence of anything being throw onto the pitch, it's the first I'd heard of it.

I'm sure the papers would have been all over this in their postmatch Chelsea bashing if it were true!

Report taken from SKY

Watch the clip - you can clearly lip read Hiddink saying to the 4th offical - ''we should have had about 3 or 4 penalties''

I wish we could keep

It woudn't be hard to find the evidence because shed loads of the flags got thrown after the ref refused the Ballack penalty incident many of them landing in the penalty area. I guess they view the sticks the flags were on as being dangerous but why should that surprise us after all celery is a dangerous weapon too isn't it?

Can't say I have a problem with it. That no one has really mentioned it up until now is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned because it happened and we have to face the consequence. Likewise should any of us really be surprised Drogs and Bosingwa have been charged? It was always going to happen and dare I say it but it had to happen no matter how emotional we all feel. I can see Drogs getting a 5 match ban and Bossy probably a two match ban.

i agree it had 2 happen but it gets to me the way other teams in other leauges seem to be aloud to do wht they like when it comes to fans. as in flares missles rasist chatting stabbing travelling fans. flags with political slogans on them just feels its one rule for english clubs and not for the others just pisses me off.
