Posted August 23, 200915 yr Having been asked that question on another forum, it actually made me think. Do we have any lifelong Chelsea fans in our squad? I assume we can rule out the non-English boys, and I honestly don't have a clue about our youngsters, but: Joe Cole - Although he said he loves the club now, aren't there pictures of him as a kid in a y*ds shirt? :S John Terry - I remember hearing he supported Man Ure as a kid. Ashley Cole - I assume he supported Arsenal? Frank Lampard - Ditto, but West Ham Ross Turnbull - Ditto, but Boro Daniel Sturridge - Ditto, but Citeh Can anyone shed any light?
August 23, 200915 yr I'm sure I watched an interview with him on CTV and he said he was a childhood Chelsea fan...
August 23, 200915 yr I too remember an interview with Joe where he said he has been a Chelsea fan as a kid and is now happy to play for the club he already loved as a child.

August 23, 200915 yr always makes me sad when i hear about jon harley. i honestly thought he was going to be the england left back for many years to come, he was brilliant when he first broke through.... I still think Jon Harley would have been a brilliant player, but I seem to remember him getting so much abuse from Gus Poyet on the pitch it probably killed his self confidence.
August 23, 200915 yr I too remember an interview with Joe where he said he has been a Chelsea fan as a kid and is now happy to play for the club he already loved as a child. I was on holiday in San Diego this summer, with my two boys in their Chelsea shirts. We went into a shop where the sales assistant was thrilled to meet some real CFC fans. He was an English guy who went to school with Joe Cole and played in the same school side as him. He confirmed that JC was a childhood Chelsea fan.

August 24, 200915 yr is that true? another reason to hate poyet then. the w**ker... I remember that almost every time Harley played for Chelsea, if one of his passes or crosses went astray, Poyet would shout and scream at him. Harley was very young and just breaking into the team, and his confidence must have been shattered to be humiliated like that in front of his home crowd by a so-called team-mate. I hated Poyet from the first time I saw him do that, and wasn't surprised when he kissed the Spuds badge - the man's a c*nt.

That is really messed up, and makes me think that confidence is so important for young players 'making it'. Obviously he isnt in our squad...but I believe Peter Crouch used to go to the bridge with his parents, who were ST holders. Of course, now he plays for 'them'
August 24, 200915 yr Mark Hughes was a chelsea fan....he stated it in a man u programme the season before he came to us
August 25, 200915 yr What about that Ressies keeper we had a few seasons back, think we loaned him out to Wimbledon or Watford. Young fella, loved Chelsea, and always got stick when he was on loan because of his Chelsea Tattoo

August 25, 200915 yr That's the fella! He loved the club, and said on CTV that he got stick when he was on loan (wherever that was) when they saw his CFC tattoo
August 25, 200915 yr Author I remember Lenny Pidgeley. I didn't know he was so passionate about Chelsea. Apparently he's Carlisle's reserve keeper nowadays. It's a shame. He sounds like a sound fella.
