Last Movie You Watched

Featured Replies

Just saw 'City Of God', a Portugese film, with subtitles.

And I must admit, it was the best film I have seen in a LONG time. It is #17 on IMDB in their list of Top 250 movies of all time, and rightly so!

I'm not that good at writing reviews, but, it's a must watch is the least I can say.

Just watched Harry Brown

Implausible plot and te screenplay is too reliant on Michael Caine but the scene when he goes to buy a gun was riveting - worth seeing just for that, together with the line:

Ive never told that (long pause) to anyone

watched that a couple of weeks ago and I didnt get what I expected. I have gone off Cainein recent years simply because he sems to accept any role he is offered.

This was a little different, more realistic for an actor of his age. Agree about the gun scene.

Hot Tub Time Machine...quite a realistic jaunt and more like a documentary on something Scientists have likely discovered but are kepping from the general public.

It is a great film, set in the slums of Rio....some very powerful scenes in there. If you like this, another film to look out for is called La Haine, a French movie I highly recommend too

Just seen Centurion. Some nice sword, spear type fighting gore. Plot good enough but no great surprises and very predictable. Not up to the same standard as ROME the series or Gladiator.

Hoping to see Robin Hood next, hope it's not the same old same old!

Daybreakers - Avoid it! (and this is from someone that rated The Blair Witch Project)

I thought the idea of the movie sounded interesting, but it turned out quite bad.

So it's another "30 Days of Night", then? I haven't seen that either, mind you. I liked the basic setting in "30 Days of Night" and I was looking forward to seeing it(haven't seen a good horror movie in years), but all my mates say it's terrible, so I haven't bothered to watch it yet.

No, "30 Days of Night" totally blew it away.

The thing with films like Daybreakers is they show the best bits on trailers and adverts so the whole film looks brilliant. On seeing it (after mostly paying money for it of course) you soon figure it isn't what you thought it was. The same thing happened with that Alien film that came out recently (what was it called again?)

Yeah, that one isn't good either. It has a few good moments, but, again, the idea was better than the actual movie.

Avatar?
