Couldn't think of anywhere else to post this. With more and more people staying at home there is a marked increase in listening to and downloading music. I have to say that when it comes to modern songs there are only a few names I recognise. Comes from me being an old git.

Some fine songs in 1969.

1984, simply for being That Year !

Nah 1969 and 1977 were also really good years for music.

After the mid 1990s I struggle, bar off the top of my head, Stereophonics and Oasis.

Yeah Old Git for music too :oldboy::biggrin:

The Who - I Can See For Miles

"I Can See For Miles" was recorded for The Who's 1967 album 'The Who Sell Out.'

1967 was the 'summer of love',

When large numbers of fledgling hippies would headed to San Francisco to hear their favorite bands, among them - The Who.

Big Bill Broonzy Hey Hey – Live 1956

One of the greatest live performances ever recorded. A masterpiece from a master.

I  simply 'discovered ' his music through watching the Blue Arena Blues Series recently on the  bbci player.

I have been recently watching 'Blues and Country' music series.

Ah, the wonderful Billie Holiday. My all-time favourite female singer. Would have loved to see her perform but even I'm too young. Have a few of her records. She had a wonderful voice and the passion and pain (she had a troubled life) come through.
