Posted February 8, 201015 yr Was just wondering whether anyone had any news on when we could expect to see Bosingwa back from injury. According to physioroom, he's due to return to full training on Wednesday, so with any luck he might be putting in an appearance in the next couple of weeks (but I don't know how accurate the dates they put on physioroom actually are). I suppose the other point worth considering is whether Carlo will be rushing to slot him back in given the way that Ivan has made such a good job of the position so far this season.
February 8, 201015 yr Ditto with Essien, I know he is not expected back for another month or so but has anyone heard about his progress? Hoping to all hopes he might be fit for atleast one leg of out CL showdown with INter
February 8, 201015 yr If its true that he will be back to full training on wednesday then he should play saturday in something like this; Bosingwa - Ivan - Alex - Zhirkov
February 8, 201015 yr If its true that he will be back to full training on wednesday then he should play saturday in something like this;Bosingwa - Ivan - Alex - Zhirkov Unless he is superhuman there is no way Bos will play on Saturday if he only starts full training on Wednesday. As for Essien are we sure it's another month? It's been three weeks now and the prognosis was 4-6 weeks. I still harbor hopes he might just make the Inter game.
February 8, 201015 yr The physioroom site is pretty poor on dates, although it's better than nothing. Remember when there used to be an injury report in the matchday programme and on the official site? Anyway, I've seen references to Bosingwa training for the last couple of weeks ( http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0...1940908,00.html being one, and a couple of other players mention off-handedly elsewhere that it's good to see him in training). Still, I'm not optimistic he'll be back terribly soon. It sounds like it's taking a bit longer than expected, and he hasn't turned out for the reserves at all, which I'd think would be likely after such a lengthy lay-off.
February 8, 201015 yr I think it's odd that we've heard so little about Bosingwa. Usually it's "Deco training, back in a couple of weeks" and such. With Bosingwa I haven't heard a single word. In early november he had his surgery and was expected to be out 3 months. So he should have been back early february. Then there's training and such before he can play games so I would have expected him to be back playing perhaps late february or early march. But since I haven't heard anything I'm not sure. Anyway, we've got Ivan so I'm not too worried. As for Essien I think he said that he would be back in february so I hope we'll see him back soon. Just as long as we don't rush him back like last time. I'd rather see him get an extra week or two before making his return than have him back and risk losing him again.

Hopefully Mikel and Ballack can cover well for him.
February 9, 201015 yr Not sure about Bosingwa but i saw Essiene outside the ground on sunday and if he's back at all this season it'll be a miracle. I'm not sure how much was precautionary but his leg was in a brace and he was on crutches hobbling around in quite a bit of discomfort. Hopefully this strapping was so he did'nt do any further damage after his recent op but he is a long way from resuming training by the looks of it let alone playing in the first team.
February 9, 201015 yr On Chelsea TV last night they said that both Bosingwa and Belletti were in training and that Belletti would be rejoining the first team squad shortly - I took that to mean Saturday. They also said that Essien would be back soon. That would leave us with a 100% fit squad which would be remarkable.

I am hopeful that Essien will be back by at least the time Manchester City comes to the Bridge at the end of the month.
March 5, 201015 yr Out for the season, ffs! Really sad news for him, Ivan has done an amazing job at cover though so it'll be nice to see him continue that.
March 5, 201015 yr Guys, According to the BBC, Jose Bosingwa is out for the rest of the season as he needs a further operation on his left knee. He will also miss the world cup. That's a bitter blow - looks like Ivanovic (my player of year) will be even more important. Doctorblue http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...sea/8551307.stm
March 5, 201015 yr It's on the chelseafc.com website aswell. Sad for Bos who misses the WC, but Ivan has been immense at left back this season, so not a problem for us.
March 5, 201015 yr There goes our only pacey player down the right wing, Ivan is a Godsend (and my player of the season as well so far) but he hasnt got the acceleration of Bossy, and some games we need that pace down the right wing.
March 5, 201015 yr ffs ! what the f**k is going on at Cobham !Lets just hope Essien makes it back ! you do realise injuries happen all the time, and its got f**k all to do with Cobham.
March 5, 201015 yr It's not great but it's no disaster like it wouldve been if it was cech or essien. Ivanovic has covered well and I'm sure will continue to do so for the rest of the season. Gutted for him though. Missing the world cup too. Have to say I don't like the sound of it one bit, a second operation is never a good sign.
March 5, 201015 yr wilkins has said essien will be out for a bit longer too and worrying said he 'couldn't put a timeframe on it'
March 5, 201015 yr Have to say I don't like the sound of itone bit, a second operation is never a good sign. yeah, that bit worried me too. it cuold mean one of 2 things, either the 1st operation didnt take or there was more damage than they expected. either way its bad news for us and worse for Bossy. one thing though, can anyone remember how the injury occurred? should we be asking for some player to be banned from playing football forever like the goonies are. March 5, 201015 yr God damnit. I cant believe it. I was hoping, when Bossie eventually came back to full fitness, he could do a job and possibly fill in for us at left back. Disappointed for him and I am now nervous to see if Zhirkov can handle that spot full time when he gets back :D
