David Villa

Surely every bit as good as Torres...

His finishing is just superb.

We are in silly season as Fergie calls it, they will write anything to get an eye brow raise.

Not a chance.

You can see Torres and Villa discussing it over a romantic meal.

'So should I come to England Nino?'

'I dunno, every week I get lumps kicked out of me, they call me girl, and the people here they eat out of bins. Ees no good. No even tapas.'

Always said he's the best pure goalscorer in europe, however a huge fee would just be silly for a guy who turns 29 in December. It will cause uproar between the fans because people will label him as a new "Shevchenko".

When you have clubs buying the likes of Kaka who's 27 for 55million and Ibrahimovic who's 28 for 64+ Eto'o, i will be more than happy to have Villa but only for a reasonable price. Villa said he would happily consider England this year simply because his wife was pregnant last year and he didnt want to move outside of spain.

It's going to be an interesting transfer summer for sure, all this striker talk with Aguero, Pato and Villa makes you wonder what's going to happen to Kalou, Anelka, Sturridge etc. For all we know Carlo is completley happy with just having Anelka and Drogba with Kalou/Sturridge as backup and we will have no new signings upfront in the summer.

The report says the Spanish newspaper Marca Barcelona and Valencia stewards agreed on the transfer of David Villa. The Spanish star is fighting for the title goalscorer in the Spanish league.

It seemed that Chelsea and Liverpool are close to acquiring a sniper, but probably will be in Spain.

In accordance with the Spanish newspaper report, Villa is to be downloaded on to Pepa Guardiola. Last season the team was close to contracting Blaugrana master scorer of Euro 2008 but the clubs failed to agree.

Barcelona President Joan Laporta wants to bring the matter to the end of the contract of David before the end of his term. So before June 13.

In addition, pride of Catalonia to buy David before the start of World Cup in South Africa, because the value that could reach the sniper after the event is likely to grow dramatically.

According to the editors of the March total transfer will amount to 40 million €. Furthermore, the administration intends to make Barcy two players. Namely, Aliaksandr Hleb (now on loan at Stuttgart,) and young Bojan Krkić.

Activists from the Stamford Bridge should start working. If you continue to sit with arms folded zdziałają nothing in the upcoming transfer window. A pity that such an opportunity was missed

What, confused?

WOuld you rather spend silly money for Villa, who is 29, or just stick with Anelka?

If that's the case then why sign Aguero? Unless Anelka as a bench warmer which i doubt he will i don't see room for Aguero, Villa or Pato. We currently have 4 strikers plus a youngster in Borini, there is no room for any of those 3 mentioned so it's going to be interesting if anyone actually signs. Unless someone goes i don't see anyone coming in, it's unrealistic to have potentially 5 first team strikers in our squad.

Drogba, Kalou, Anelka, Sturridge. I don't see no room for anyone, and lets say we take out Kalou, i don't see a starting place for anyone new since im sure Anelka wouldn't like to go down the pecking order. Also i kinda think Ancelotti trusts what he has now.

Why spend 40 million on one player when we can win the league with our 4 strikers?

Unless we sell or Utd buy someone to improve there squad drastically i don't see us buying anyone.

Anelka might have to get used to going down the pecking order... In fact a few players might have to cope with it. That's the only way we can improve the squad in any meaningful way.

Anelka is 31, Drogba is 32. We need to take the pressure off them with a signing. Aguero may be too similar to Studge, so Pato might be more successful, but I still want Aguero anyway. ;)

Aguero's first season here, I'd see him moving Anelka down the pecking order, and then in his second season become our main striker, hopefully with Studge good enough to knock either Anelka or Drogba down to 4th in the pecking order, as by then they'll be getting on quite a bit and it'll probably be time for them to leave the squad all together.

If we wait for one of Drogba/Anelka to need replacing, we won't have the luxury of giving our new signing a season to get used to the English football, and it's something which can even take 2 or 3 seasons, look at Malouda for an example of that. We need to sign a striker now, or risk having a season of mediocrity down the line... it doesn't matter if it annoys Anelka, the team is more important than his ego... the downside lies in giving Sturridge, and Borini more competition, but I still think it could be worth it for us in the long run, as to be honest I'm not convinced about Borini making it.

I hope Villa isnt going to wind up at Barca.

1. I like him as a player and a person, so I would hate to root against him.

2. If he is going to Barca, presumably Torres is not leaving. While you might argue that he is a perma-crock, mopey ladyboy, as long as he and Gerrard remain there, they have the decent outline of a team that might contend with some major additions.

Just what the hell are Barca gonna do with Villa/Torres and Kerrison who they still have out on loan. Is there enough room in that team with Zlatan, Bojan and Henry there already?

Barcelona have confirmed that they have agreed a fee of 40 million euros with Valencia for Spain striker David Villa.

The Spain international has long been linked with a move from Los Che after five seasons at the Mestalla and has signed a four-year deal.

Villa, who will undergo a medical on Friday, is the first summer capture for the Catalan club, with Cesc Fabregas also rumoured to be angling for a move back to Barcelona.

Barca, despite having the best youth academy in Europe spent a fortune on players in the last three years or so, yet somehow no one accuses them of buying success.

Now watch Real try and outdo them with their next move.

To outdo a deal like Villa or possibly Fabregas Real will have to land some good name like they did with KAKA and Ronaldo last year.

What say? They grab Rooney this season..:indifferent0018:

Or Torres! :D

Or Torres! :D

I am okay with either Rooney or Torres or if possible even with both going to Bernabeu.

I just hope they don't select Berbato for that :indifferent0018:.

Already Berbato is doing gr8 job other BPL teams except his home team and he is invaluable resource for us :P

David Villa, Signs for Barca

Good player of course but he is nearly 29. Its a lot of cash to pay for someone so close to 30 imo - no matter how big his reputation is and how good his record may look.

As we well know.
