lil-drogba11 Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Should Di Santo be in the first team in 2010/11 season or should he be in the reserves. What do you think of Di Santo as a player?
loz Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 From what I saw of him at Blackburn last season (albeit they were not a team ideal for his style of play) he shouldn't be anywhere near our first team. I would not be all that surprised if we let him go very cheaply before the summer is out.
evissy Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 He has talent that is for sure but I'm afraid he chose the wrong club coming to Chelsea. He could have flourished somewhere else. Maybe Germany maybe Italy in a smaller club. He came here. Didin't have a chance to play in the 1.st team, moved to Blackburn and didn't do well. I think his English playing days might be over. I would like him to come to our reserves and try but I'm afraid it is not good for his career.
BlueNose Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Di santo is another player, who looked good in all the youtube montages, but failed to deliever when given the opportunity,he didnt show us why he should break into our first team when on loan last season and i dont think its fair that we keep him to play in our reserves as he is very young and we shouldnt stop hom progressing. rumours are that bolton want him

Cam Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 He hasn't shown enough to get anywhere near convincing me he's Chelsea material. Sturridge and Borini would both be ahead of him. Sell him for whatever we can, and add a % of next sale clause in case he makes it
lil-drogba11 Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 Agree with you Loz. Didn't he only get one goal while he was there? Yeah scored against Burnley for Blackburn
BlueDay Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Everyone has a bad season. He was amazing for our reserves when he was there. 4 goals against Tottenham or something like that?
jack h Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 hasnt been given a chance at either us or blackburn. Always gets into great position but NEVER gets the pass
sals Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 hasnt been given a chance at either us or blackburn. Always gets into great position but NEVER gets the pass He got plenty of chances for blackburn at the start of the season but missed some quite glorious opportunities and was deservedly dropped as a result. Seems to be more suited to a less physical league.

Seems to be more suited to a less physical league. He went to entirely the wrong club in my opinion, he was hardly getting any chances created for him. Ive a mate who`s a season ticket holder at Blackburn and he said he did ok, but strikers there never get any service. I think their strikers only scored about 10 goals between them last season.
mad_mac Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 The absolute wrong club for him to go to, his movement off the ball is great, but no one ever seemed to pick him out! I don't think he'll be back, which is a shame, as I'd like to see him be back and get a shot at the ressies again, but I don't think he'd want that so I'm sure he'll be off
PloKoon13 Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Yeah scored against Burnley for Blackburn If he was ever going to score in one game for Blackburn he picked the right one...
Guest Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Admittedly I havne't seen him much. But i'd think he needs another loan or two (maybe to a Championship club) before we go writing him off completely. His only what, 19?

Seems to be more suited to a less physical league. Quite strange that you think him to be weak physically, his role at Blackburn was that of a lone striker and most of the times he was either chasing the ball or looking to hold up the ball. In that role he pretty much exhibited that he was up for the physical aspect of the english game. Infact he was quite impressive in the little partnership he had developed with Dunn in the early part of the season. Edited July 1, 2010 by Maverick
andy Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 He had quite a few chances at Chelsea and loads at Blackburn, shame but just not good enough, Carlton Cole was much better and he wasn't good enough.

Not in the games i saw, and not according to my Blackburn fan mate. According to him any chances he got he had to make for himself, or were from hoofs upfield (Sam Allardyce is their manager remember). He said most Blackburn fans felt sorry for him having to try and stand out in a side that couldnt create chances for strikers.
