The next bands you are going to see?

Saw Muse on Friday and Saturday night at Wembley. Absolutely brilliant, phenomenal - choose your superlative.

It was weird walking up Wembley Way for a concert instead of a Chelsea game, my reflex action was to start a rendition of Carefree!

Gem, she's better than alot of the rest.

Roger Waters "The Wall" on 9/29. "I've got a little black book with me poems in." I'm gonna party like it's 1980!!

Lee "Scratch" Perry is playing in Leicester in the near future. Should be a hoot.

Surely not the Lee "Scratch" Perry?

How old must he be now? I remember him back in the early eighties and he wasn't young then!!!

quick review of Neil Young from this week. He played alone, it was billed as acoustic but he played solo including electric guitars, organ, pianos and of course harmonica. He started with some old numbers, like Old Man, Ohio, Down by the River, and then played a lot from his new album Le Noise. Some of it good, some a little simplistic. He barely spoke to the audience but I managed to get myself to the front row since it was not full. Cinnamon Girl, Helpless and a couple others from the olden days like Cortez the Killer. I would have liked to have heard more old songs but he was still fantastic.

One thing I will say - the audience were sh*t up front - I don't know if Hard Rock give away front section tickets but so many people were talking through his songs, moving around, getting up and going for drinks or bathroom, on their phones it was very irritating. I had to tap the people in front of me early on and ask them to be quiet. Don't get why you would pay for a ticket to see NY and talk throughout.

Other than the colour of his beard, he hasn't changed a great deal. I expect some crazy-ass dub and the instruction to "Light your spliffs!".

For anyone who didn't get my little "Burning Down the House" comment:

][/font]In the early 1970s, Perry was one of the producers whose mixing board experiments resulted in the creation of dub. In 1973, Perry built a studio in his back yard, The Black Ark, to have more control over his productions and continued to produce notable musicians such as Bob Marley & the Wailers, Junior Byles, The Heptones, and Max Romeo. With his own studio at his disposal, Perry's productions became more lavish, as the energetic producer was able to spend as much time as he wanted on the music he produced. It is important to note that virtually everything Perry recorded in The Black Ark was done using rather basic recording equipment; through sonic sleight-of-hand, Perry made it sound completely unique. Perry remained behind the mixing desk for many years, producing songs and albums that stand out as a high point in reggae history. By 1978, stress and unwanted outside influences began to take their toll: both Perry and The Black Ark quickly fell into a state of disrepair. Eventually, the studio burned to the ground. Perry has constantly insisted that he burned the Black Ark himself in a fit of rage, but it was most likely an accident due to faulty wiring. After the demise of the Black Ark in the early 1980s, Perry spent time in England and the United States, performing live and making erratic records with a variety of collaborators. It was not until the late 1980s that Perry's career began to get back on solid ground again, after working with British producers Adrian Sherwood and Neil Fraser, better known as Mad Professor.

If anybody wants to listen to a band influenced by Nirvana, The Pixies, The Doors, Mc5s, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zep, Pink Floyd and many others.

Check out......

They're my mates band and I watch them regularly, but would be interested in some feedback.

They've already played some recognised places such as Dublin Castle, Camden, The Hope and Anchor, Islington and The 02, Birmingham (Not the main place but a smaller stage)

Some nice Bluesy influences in there, and the blokes voice, as raspy and dirty as it sounds, fits in with the type of music they are playing.

I like them....and an amazing list of influences there too!

Cheers for the feedback Mad Mac. Glad you like it. I've just got back from watching them. Great gig, Monday morning hangover on the horizon. :431::shok:

By the way most of the band are either side of 30(or a bit more), but the front man is only 22.

Succeeded in buying my Gaslight Anthem tickets

I'm going to see them next week at my local club. Great to see a band like that at a small venue(capacity is only 700).

The place I'm going to see them at isn't particularly big either, similar size at a guess, going to be an amazing gig.

Frank Turner tickets in Leicester O2 Academy sorted for December aswell! Can't wait!

The Leicester O2 Academy is part of Leicester uni and is about five minutes from my house if you need a sofa to crash on.
